Wow! The third wrap that you showed is exactly the kind of handle wrap that I was looking for my longbow. Man, this is not the first time that you give me inspiration.👍
The spiraling one is call French whipping..makes great coverage on sword handles or with rope on walking staves or staffs. The second has the added benefit of being able to quickly untied get the cordage back. Great video!
You are not ready for your knot tying test for the Navy. I spent weeks doing all that on in many handrails aboard my ship while in the Navy. there are so many more. Awesome as always.
For decorative wraps you can add beads to any cord by feeding a bite through the bead hole then push the working end through the bite. It locks the bead in place and you can do it at any point. Great video!
I really wish I could see a video of this... did you mean to use the word 'bite'? Or did you you mean feed a BIT? The bead hole would have to be big enough for whatever cord you were wrapping, no?
The first wrap is what we in the Navy called "Fancy Work" wraps. It's used on solid horizontal railings and upright stantions to give grip during inclimate weather. A couple years ago. I made a flail using a 2"x12" rod, wrapped with fancy work. Attached to it was a "sennent knot chain also known as a "Lanyard" with a "Monkeys Fist" at the end. Got a pretty penny for it.
Going to try these with wire work to see how they apply. Should be pretty good though perhaps not quite as tight looking. Also, that first one looks like you could do it without looping the material by just feeding the working end under itself as you go around, but depending on what you are applying it to/the length of the cord, it works either way, so whatever suits your needs. I want to use them for a bow grip or perhaps a knife grip. Experimentation is now in my near future
You did a great job and I've been watching for a while now I can't even remember how long a go I started watching but I seen like all almost your videos
I'm looking at 2 mm round leather wrapping, 2 colors for the 2 stranded ring hitch. I just don't know how much length is needed. Can you tell me please?
These are all paracord handle wraps. The first one is called French Whipping. The second one is a lock knot or weave and is used to have a hank of cordage available that is easily released by pulling on one side and unravelling it. There are hundreds of types of handle wraps from the extremely simple and basic to the more complex and involved. The easiest wrap is to simply whip the entire handle which leaves a flat wrap.
@@SkillTree The start of the second wrap really looked like a mermaid tie. And the intonation with which you said "mighty blacksmithing hammers of gorgeousness" reminded me of his Patreon shoutouts at the end of each video.
Wow!

Great to hear! Glad I can be of some help to you!😁

Thank you! Used the 2nd braid for a witch staff and this was so easy go follow :)
Just bought a stilletto framing hammer and the third wrap is EXACTLY what i'm looking for, thanks
I'm obsessed!! These are great. You have a new fan!! Thank you so much!!
Fantastic ideas! Love them all! Looking forward to not only repairing my bag handles but making it pop with two colors.
I'm gonna use the third wrap style to wrap my cane handle hope I can learn it
I believe in you!

Awesome! I just ordered a walking stick and I’m going to use the second one on it. Thanks!
These are also awesome wraps to do in paracord, and opens up a lot more colors.
I totally agree! A lot of those wraps also translate to leather if you want. Good skill to learn.
Very sick I’ll def use these on my next build 👌
Let me know how it turns out!
Thanks for the new lesson it was easy to understand good job
Good! I am always worried tutorials like this one are hard to follow. Never sure if I explain them clearly.
You did a great job and I've been watching for a while now I can't even remember how long a go I started watching but I seen like all almost your videos
Thank you
This was an excellent video!
I always love these videos they give me so many ideas. Thanks for the videos keep it up.
Glad you like them! Thank you for watching!
You’re absolutely Adorable! So fun to watch and I love what you’re teaching-sweet craftworks! 🌟🖤🌟
Great vid, love the energy
Hell yeah, man. Gonna do this to my camping axe and my hurley.
Sweet! I hope you share how it comes out!
@@SkillTree will do. Still working on my knife sheath, though. Might be a few days or, like... a week.
Nice! Will definitely be doing this in a future project!
Glad you found it useful!
Cl3ver's daughter gonna have da best braid in the skwel
No gaughters here. I wonder if my wife will let me practice on her though
@@SkillTree hmm depends if you have return what once was hers… and it was nice
You should try the first wrap with a 1/8 in leather strip. Mine came out amazing.
How does this amazing man not have more subscribers. If I had friends I would share XD
These are some great techniques kit
Awesome. Mine don’t look nearly as clean. Very good video.
Great instructional video, I followed your steps and got a nice job done. Thanks
amazing!
Thank you!
You should make a leather whip. I hope you have a lot of time on your hands. I made a 10’ whip and it took me about 20 hours.
I REALLY want to. I need some roo hide to do it right though. Expensive stuff.
Hey! Question, what to do if it’s a stainless steel handle? Wouldn’t it slip?
There is only one way to find out. In hobbies like these, you can only fail upwards
You totally ROCKED that. And YES the last is a Gem to be sure !!

Nifty! Those hammers are gorgeous now - maybe even worthy of Thor :)
Huzzah! My hammers are mighty and beautiful 😁
@@SkillTree loooool
Where do you get the leather cord?
Where did you get that kind of thick cord from? the bedroom?
It took a while to get it off of the headboard but I am glad I did! I think it helped the demonstration a lot!
have you ever thought of doing any 3d printing its a neat skill
Cool new trick! Thanks for the info. I will have to try it out. Where did you purchase your leather cord from?
Hope it works out for you! I think I got the cordage from Michaels to be honest.
I want that shirt "this is how I roll" but with a picture of a pill with a transformer indentation
Think these wraps would translate well with flat leather?

For the amount of whipping you did in the 3rd example, how long must each cord be? What diameter cord are those? TX!
Would you not wet the leather so when it dries it tightens?
How long a length should you start with for #3?
A Crochet Hook could make the spiral wrap a little easier if you were wrapping around a necklace or a circle with crochet thread.
Could you potentially make a bracelet out of this?
👍👍👍👍👍👍
“Just as easy as the other one “. Suure it is, , I can’t even tie my shoes. Thanks for the video
Just out of curiosity: what are your pronouns?
@@DaeViZ0n3Mr. Gronek, him, man, gentleman, sir

Haha, for a minute, you turned into Rory's Brainworks!
I had never seen his channel until this message! What part did you think seemed like him? Just curious. I like his stuff!

I love how you said 'Slightly more complicated' like you were talking about that girl that's not like other girls, lol!
👍👍👍👍
Thats going on a steering wheel
OOoo thats a fun idea
The like button isn't working.
I want to wrap my brass knuckles with leather cordage
Hmm.....I have an axe that now needs a leather wrap on the handle ...
First
And a knife that needs a paracord wrap...
lil bad explaining for the last one =/
Excessive use of the word "super." If something were indeed super simple, it would do itself.
I wouldn't call any of that string leather.
I read the thumbnail and all I saw was "Three Etsy Ways"... not far from the truth.
They don't work tf man
