Luffy is not low diffing someone with the most powerful paramecia, he takes a lot of pain because of his devil fruit yet he still gets back up. He has huge tolerance, Luffy will be tested taking quake punches with his devil fruit negged because that was the first time we ever seen Luffy in pain so much from an attack that didn’t seem so effective.
Luffy isn’t gonna simply eat quake punches while being devil fruit negged, plus he could potentially have awakening power. OP fans have a problem with visual perceptions

I think BB is consistently underestimated. If nothing else, I think many doubt that bb has contingencies and usually pulls up knowing risks.
After luffy beat kaido, bb seemed prepared to take on luffy, law, or kid. And I believe this is after the new posters were revealed. Plus, bb surely would know that luffy beat kaido and he would know who kaido is.
With this in mind, I find it hard to believe that BB, someone we know has insights into history and secrets that no one else does, knows how gear 5 operates and likely how to beat it (including 1 v 1).
I think from a narrative standpoint, bb is intentionally made to look goofy or clumsy. But in reality, he certainly seems like no slouch. Tankedva WB attack at point blank. Fought a two armed shanks (who we cannot confirm was actually weaker than present shanks) and managed to leave a long term scar. He went back and beat Magellan. While he did get a good blow from g2 luffy, he immediately got up and smashed his head into concrete and kinda let luffy leave.
Even Rayleigh stated that 1v1 hed lose to bb. And this is the same Rayleigh that could casually dodge gear 4, take on kizaru, and is still trouble to the marines to the point that they won’t even bother with him.
We gotta stop underestimating BB like the one piece universe is. That’s how he gets these offscreen Ws 😂😂😂

your talking on the assumption he knew, the WG hid the fact that luffy was the one who personally beat kaido and even placed his bounty as equal to kid, making everything look like an 3v1. Saying bb was prepared to fight luffy knowing abut his powers is like saying, bb could beat luffy's whole crew without shiryu, kuzan and the other half of his commanders which makes no sense.
yes narratively he should be stronger but he hasn't shown that he is, for all we know he is still growing and will probably get a power boost before fighting luffy. And yes he is stronger than rayleigh, rayleigh is at admiral lvl currently at best and we all saw what luffy did to kizaru an admiral who was pushing rayleigh.

Doesn’t seem farfatched to assume bb also knows who nika is especially since bb has researched Devil fruits for at least a decade.
Also, BB said he was prepared to fight all 3 teams (Kidd, luffy, and law) as I stated earlier. So yeah, perhaps if it was luffys team, bb would’ve changed his strategy compared to how he fought law. Doesn’t mean there was no plan.
In the recent chapters we can see van augurs warp has a good distance to it and the crew anticipated Saturn being on egghead which indicates they know about him, his powers, etc.
Certainly plausible that bb can warp crew mates around as he sees fit. This can be backed up even further since (as I recall) egghead, winner island, and the island where bb made into his hq are all close nearby.

My bet is BB's fruit/ awakening can also nullify haki. Maye Acoc is the only exception from its nullification. But BB has been forshadowed, multiple times, to have a mysterious power that allows him to win fights.

Gear 5 Luffy is definitely stronger than BB by a huge margin but people need to understand that BB will not be KOed with 1 punch. So when he comes back in the fight, he will use his Yami Yami which will affect the whole area. Luffy will be stuck in base form against BB with 2 DF powers.
Also Lucci cannot beat BB. I love Lucci and he’s one of my favorites but he cannot beat BB. Not now, not EOS.

I'm not on team Blackbeard but The Dark King did say that he could not beat him as he is now, the Dark King has Speed, Haki for days, and probably sight, so on a one to one Haki alone might not do it and one shot may be out of the question.

If Blackbeard wasn’t killed by Sengoku pre time skip, there’s no way anyone else could one shot him. Because back then Sengoku was very clearly way stronger whereas now Blackbeard and Luffy and relative. And Sengoku definitely put a lot into that punch because his greatest rival’s power is now reborn into a guy that tricked and cheated him along with loads of the most dangerous and violent people in the world. It’s such a discrepancy of power, if Blackbeard survived that, I’m pretty sure he would survive being hit by anyone else l unless there are secondary devil fruit effects like poison, magma, or ice, and Luffy doesn’t have that, it’s just incredibly strong punches which will hurt him but not much else. Plus pre timeskip haki wasn’t as big a thing so I’m curious if Magellan’s poison would still be effective anyway.

According to Mihawk, Shanks is now a weaker swordsman now that he has one arm. Mihawk has no interest in fighting this nerfed version of Shanks. The Shanks that Blackbeard scarred was in his prime. People only assume Shanks got stronger because he aged, but the narrative doesn’t indicate Shanks was training to get stronger. The story implies that Shanks lost power to invest in Luffy by losing an arm.

Saying Luffy would one shot Blackbeard is ridiculous. Luffy hasn’t one shot anyone in ages regardless of how strong he’s getting. If Blackbeard can maintain pressure with the Gura and Yami he only needs to outlast Luffys stamina which I feel he could do. It’s a toss up for me depending on the circumstances but I don’t think either of them straight up can wash the other.
So can BB outmatch Luffy in terms of Speed in his G5 or G4 form , can BB see Future ?

The Ace novel is canon and doesn't even have anti-feast within the manga and in that Ace is nothing short of high first division level which by default puts Black Beard with just the yami yami at around high first division level. This isn't inconsistent with feats from either of them since Ace even as a tiered, abused and starved man in Marienford could clash with Aoikiji's named attack. The community is currently gassing Sanji for clashing with a non-named Kizaru attack. It's also pretty consistent that yonko level characters can one shot low YC1 level fighters as we see with Kaido and Wano Luffy. Black Beard was able to take a straight gura gura to the face, a slash from White Beard and a Sengoku quake and wanted to fight all of Marienford until Shanks showed up. THIS WAS PRE-TIMESKIP BLACKBEARD. It also makes no sense for Black Beard to be some bum when Shanks actively wants him dead to the point that he snitches on him but somehow decided going straight for him in Marienford wasn't smart.
Finally, on a narrative level, Luffy having already surpassed him makes no sense. Luffy's crew is a weaker crew than Black Beard's currently so I would assume that he will remain weaker than Teach until they (The Straw hats as a group) surpass the Black Beard pirates.

Problem is he acts like we have seen Teach's durability level by simply judging from reactions. WB's 2 Attacks KOed Akainu but Teach was still laughing next page after WB's 2 attacks, we didn't even see what it takes to KO Teach. He was taking Sengoku attacks like nothing, Ace's island size fire attacks did little damage at the end.

Had a question about blackbeard getting hit and then getting back up a few moments later, specifically around the 8 ish minute mark. what if he wasn't being extra when getting hit by Whitebeard. What if that attack really did finish him off but it only finished off the personality that was currently active for blackbeard? And when he got back up one of the others took over? Goes with the blackbeard having 3 personalities theory but maybe it's something? Idk
