It’s not former, all US ex president keep the title president after office. Former is a relatively new term as its being used solely for Trump.
Having been at the rally in Butler and witnessed this traumatic event firsthand, this hits very hard. Our community is in grief over the man we lost (RIP Corey.) two others are in critical condition. We are broken and angry. Hearing this is very cathartic to be honest because we have been left reeling. I'm still trying to process what I and thousands went through being there. I literally hit the ground and laid on some kids that were behind me. I didn't even see when Trump got up because I was on the ground. Only saw him go to the motorcade after. It's an angry song but boy we have been left grieving and angry here.
I'm so sorry for what you and so many others had to endure. I can't even imagine what that must have been like. God bless you for protecting the children and I'm glad you are still with us. ❤

He was mad at first when he heard what happened but when he went on Twitter and saw the post. Then he got PISSED!!!! He wrote the song and recorded it within two hours. It is pure raw emotions that everyone is feeling. This is how we let out our anger, we don't attack people.

Tom is talking to the extremists who were on Twitter etc complaining the guy missed, literally calling for someone with better skills to try again and mocking the injured and the man we lost while shielding his family. They were saying Cory deserved it for being where he was and who he would vote for. And we are not talking about a small number of people. The comments, some from sitting politicians, doctors, teachers and therapists were vile. I have zero issues with Tom calling it exactly what it was, and I'll say it straight up. Evil. He said it at the beginning in the text, he's talking to those people, and I think we can all agree, that ish is extremism.

He made this song after going on Twitter that night and seeing all the people who were expressing their disappointment that the shooter didn't end Trump. If you don't think feeling that way is evil, I don't know what to tell you. And I don't think we should stop calling people like that out. A lot of Americans are angry at what happened, the rhetoric that led up to the attempt, and the reactions from so many posting how frustrated they were that he survived the shooting. We feel like Tom does and he gives voice to our anger. Singing along with his lyrics gives us a way to express that anger in a non-violent way. As he says, thank God the right don't riot. We listen to Tom's music instead. And considering this song is #1 on iTunes in both Rap and All Genres, there are a lot of people listening.

Tom jumped to conclusions, the shooter was republican, he always blames the left for anything and everything just because he hates trans and LGBTQ people and woke people, most people even people who hate trump said political violence is evil and a horrible thing and should not be happing, he acts like the whole party believes the shooter was good and that’s just trying to get the other side which is the far right to be angry at the left when some crazy people on twitter celebrating or upset that the shooter missed, which does not represent all of the democrats or left wing people, the assassination attempt was horrific anyone who doesn’t think so has some serious issues, Tom calling a whole side of the left evil is divisive and not true.

Tom has always tried to stay in the middle and bring people together. But when he wrote this- it was after he saw people were celebrating that Trump wasn’t dead. Nova was crying. I think a lot of us were. Trump is a husband. As Nova said, “he’s (Trump) just a guy who eats breakfast”.

This broke my heart. Tom has done nothing but try to bring us together, to open our eyes. Now his eyes are open, and he understands what is really going on. Agreed. This is a clear sign the left should pay attention to. When a man like Tom who has tried to bring people together with his music drops a video that's this powerful. They need to stop pushing now.
It's not so much as 'right vs left', but right vs wrong, good vs evil. Tom is saying that in the verse 'shoot straight' means talking out the differences without being violent, to be honest and not play the 'I'm right you're wrong' game without actually listening and using proper discourse. Violence is never the answer to solving any disagreements. Except in situations where a person is violent and you have to respond in kind to defend yourself or others. There's many emotional responses going on both sides because of Trump almost assassinated. Many, including Tom are disgusted and angry that this occurred with some being disappointed that the kid failed. Which causes more angst against those who see violence as a quick resolution to their 'problem' which is hyped up by MSM using horrible and dishonest rhetoric because they make decisions based on their emotions, and not using any logic or common sense that wrong actions have consequences. This usually occurs because, quite frankly, some are too lazy to think for themselves. They allow themselves to be driven by those who are feeding them things that are not true, from being gaslighted, being pushed to believe their world view. Hence the term 'sheepalo' or 'sheeple' to describe them. They are considered as 'snowflakes' because when triggered, they act like toddlers throwing a hissyfit because they didn't get their way. If your emotions are not counterbalanced with logic, you're unhinged or another way of saying that you're unbalanced causing a person to react erratically.
I think that line was a double. One thing frequently said on X after the event was a lament of that exact line.
When you are attacked and fight back, you are not the divisive one; the one that attacked is.
There are millions of us feeling the same as Tom in this video. This hatred and insanity in our country must stop!

My husband and I were so distraught because we were watching this rally live. My husband text his mother "Someone just tried to kill Trump", Her response was "I am guessing they missed". I took his phone and responded back to her "Thank god they missed, but others were killed if that gives you any solace" She responded the next day with how offended she was about my text and that she would be praying for him. I pray for her to pray for herself. Differences aside, she couldn't even understand the trauma when he text her about it. I have always supported Trump, he was always on the fence until that moment, he knew then, he said it himself, there would be no reason to kill him if he was on the wrong side. Praise our Lord for having a hand on Donald John Trump. Our country needs him in order to bring Christ back into our hearts and prayers.

Many are missing the bigger picture. The shooter was in a BlackRock ad 2 years ago. He was a young naive operative for "them". He was trained for this scenario for this event. The debate was a disaster. Trump is looking like he can't be beat so "they" (BlackRock) initiates this op. The security lapses were also due BlackRock insertion into the SS. The shooter was going to be eliminated successful or not so he couldn't talk. Now that this was unsuccessful, don't be surprised if something happens to Biden in the coming weeks before the Democratic Convention so "they" can insert their candidate, maybe Newsome. They will focus blame on the Republican Party as retaliation to reunite the democratic party to beat Trump. "They" don't care about collateral damage.

I've been following all of the reaction channels that have been covering this particular song. I do have to ask you how can you dismiss the anger in talking about everything he did at the opening of the song? All of those are valid points, they are not the name calling of Hitler and Nazi and claiming that Trump will be a dictator.
These are the same games they played in 2016 and again in 2020. But as every American knows between 2016 and 2020, Trump was not a dictator period, end of story. I would completely agree with you if he came out with things against the left in that same manner. All he is doing is pointing out the things that incited this person to take these actions (if it is not partially inside related, but that's for a different topic).

We used to be able to "Agree to Disagee" drop it and move on. That, sadly, is not the place we are in at present.
I have shared this with a couple reactions to this song. But since you’re therapist, I’m really gonna share it with you. I was surprisingly emotionally fine the day it happened. Wasn’t until the next day that I just busted out crying. And I just kept crying and praying off and on all day. Later, I was surprised to see Tom put out a song, because he had just done so a few days ago, and it wasn’t Tom Friday. Hearing this song, lifted anger, pain, hurt, and sadness off my heart. The music was the release fell that I needed. The unbearable heaviness left.
I felt the same way! I was actually AT the rally and kept telling people I was okay, because we were safe, but I think I was in shock. Although definitely angered. But on Sunday morning, I woke up feeling seriously pissed off. When I saw that Tom had dropped this, I was so thrilled! Then I heard it!!! Exactly how I was feeling. The emotion was spot on! It helped me process everything. I haven’t stopped listening since! I love Tom!

i have never met anyone on the conservative side of the aisle say they hate, they want the opposite unalived, none of it. however, those on the other side, all they spew is hate, rage, anger, violence, and intolerance.
I believe that Tom MacDonald said in an interview once that his rap lyrics are his form of therapy. Hopefully, I will be there too some day with my style of music, I have a very long journey. You have to respect someone with his kind of earned skill and the way he has channeled it. I can just imagine all the hard work he had to put in to develop his skill just to get to the point he was when he came on to the scene and all the growth he has made in his skill since.

No I'm not talking about people I'm not talking about regular citizens going about their daily lives some lean rights some lean left some are more conservative some are more liberal That's not who's running the country, the people who are in charge the people who are on the news the people who are in the media the people who are running the government the people in the Senate half the people in the house and whatever puppeteers are pulling the strings of Biden are those things, they support abortion up until birth with no restrictions, they want children to be able to swap their genders like they change clothes, they're in favor of allowing life-altering surgeries and medication at an age when we don't even consider them bindable by a contract because their brains aren't fully developed yet. It's a side that supports paying more attention to somebody's skin color then their contributions to society or their character, who like Chuck Schumer try to rouse up the masses to go protest outside of supreme Court justices homes, they're the ones who called the riots of 2020 mostly peaceful protests. You seem to have this idea that we should get back to a time where we could meet in the middle, and I agree I grew up in an age where both parties clearly loved their country and just had different visions about how to go about continuing the prosperity of America. That is no longer the case The right cannot meet in the middle with the left anymore because the left has completely abandoned the middle. Cant you tell whats going on here? They go after him so hard because he's a threat to what they stand for. He vowed to root out corruption. So it can be understood that thoes that speak and act the loudest against him must be just as corrupt and evil. Lets not get started on all the accusations that have been throw at conservitives. Now i'm not even American, i stumbled on your video, and as you said, can people stop pointing fingers, i fully agree, but what I've seen of the political climate in America in the past ten years, the right seems to be civil, and are able to hold a conversation, and have dialogue, 90% and i mean 90% of the people on the left i have talked too, are delusional and not in touch with reality, and you really can't have common ground with these types of people, i'm sorry but as an outside observer, its what i see and it is what it is.

I want the folks I disagree with to go forward with positivity and prosperity, just without any power over the laws I have to follow. I believe that #hUmaNITY is the key. The problem is that the folks who I disagree with have not put in the work to earn the UNITY part of humanity yet. I would love for us all to come together but "they" do not want that. They want control and intolerance. It is a shame. Just imagine what humanity could accomplish if all of humanity worked together to lift us all up. That would be truly amazing.
