Hello from Italy. Random algorithms brought me here. What a lovely positve video. The shorter fringe you cut looks beautiful and the jumper colour really suits you. I look forward to watching more of you videos. When you spoke about how weight affected many areas of your life, l relate. I am so glad that you are happier now. i have just subcribed too.

Well hello from UK! You’re very welcome and I’m glad you found me! I try to remain positive, it’s been a long hair loss journey but I thank God for helper hair every day. Imagine what it would be like if we didn’t have it!
      Do you wear hair?

@@lifeandhair Hi, actually l don't have hair loss. But l just found your openess very relatable. Ido get eczema on my scalp which is frustraing, but l used to have it all over my body and face, so compared to that. I can put up with it. I am 51, during covid l grew henna out of my hair and embraced my grey. I related to what you were saying about weight. I loved watching how you cut in a fringe and layers. I guess you have done that before?

So glad you're feeling better 😊
I found your wls videos when I was thinking about having wls. You looked like me,was older like me,and I felt so comfortable and it gave me hope...Now over 3 years later I've gone from a 24/26 to a size 10 US....I don't know that girl anymore and never want to meet her again .I started wearing toppers about 4 months after surgery, my hair fell out in clumps, IT WAS DEVASTATING!...Again you came to my rescue with videos on wigs and toppers. You were and are a huge part of my ,and still are...thank you my sweet friend ❤️....Best of luck everyone, if you're thinking about wls...do it!!

Greetings Karima! Your topper looks so much better now that you have trimmed her and thinned her out. How well I remember your struggle with your bariatric surgery decision! You definitely have changed since then. How is Steve these days? Love and blessings ♥️🙏

Hi Jean, I hope all is well with you.
Yes, the topper is improved but I think a bit more thinning on the side pieces is necessary, she is amazingly full. But it’s good because she will last a long time, I think, lots of hair!
I’m about to make a video about life in our middle years, that should fill you in on life here. Steve is well, still cute as a button 😂
Tell me how things are with you. I wish I at least had a picture of you…my email address is on my YT page if ever you decide to send one 😉

@@lauraoliver525 so in order of appearance; Girl Mono right at the start, then Aida topper by Uniwigs and lastly Savannah topper. Courtney has a lace front, I’d love to see how a fringe looks on it x

    Hi there Karima!👋
It’s so good to see you ! So happy you are feeling better! You look beautiful! I love the way you trimmed up the wig! When.you were trimming the sides, were you using thinning shears? Thank you for sharing! 🙋‍♀️

    • @lifeandhair

Hi there! It’s been too long since I’ve heard from you. I hope all is well with you.
I wasn’t using thinning shears, I really don’t think they are essential. The main trick is to point the scissors downwards in the direction of travel, that way you are less likely to cut straight across the hair. I’ve never done it before but it wasn’t too hard as there was so much hair in the topper it was very forgiving! I’m so pleased I mustered up the courage to cut a fringe, it’s a huge improvement. It’s lovely to hear from you xx

I love the transformation with the fringe Karima and your hair goes so well with your brown sweater. I have seen videos of women with frontal hair loss where they back comb the hair on top of their head and bring it forward to their forehead and use that to blend with their toppers. Also can a topper be clipped into a topper grip for sensitive heads? Great video and tutorial once again Karima❤

    • @lifeandhair
      @lifeandhair  5 месяцев назад +1

There is no way I can use any hair on the top to integrate with the topper. There just isn’t any! Sad isn’t it?!
I do know about the grips but have never tried one, I wonder if they work well. I’ll have to see if I can buy a e and try it. Thanks for your input, though, you’re totally right.
I’m glad you like the colour of the jumper, it’s been so cold in the UK over the last few weeks, I’ve been very pleased to finish it and start wearing it xx

Karima this update was well worth the wait ❤ I learned how to cut a fringe for one thing and it was great to see the way you transformed that topper into a real beauty. Va va va voom! Thanks for sharing about your weight loss surgery. A life line was made visible to you and you rightly grabbed ahold. Thank goodness obesity is now being seen as a chronic metabolic disease and we can come out from under that dark cloud of shame and into the light of treatment. You advocated for yourself and it was life changing and affirming.. can’t wait to see the upcoming review. Thanks for being a beacon of light to those of us on a hair loss journey.❤

Hello there! Thank YOU for your support.
I had my surgery when I was 50! I wish I’d done it in my early 40s. Better late than never, I still wake up daily and ‘remember’ I’m a smaller size when I think about what I plan to wear that day. It’s still weird. Also, strangely, I still don’t have an idea of what I look like, sometimes I think I’m smaller or bigger than my size, I’m forever holding up clothes and doubting I’ll fit into them, it’s all a bit confusing x
