Hello from Ohio. I really enjoyed your video with my morning coffee. Hope you find the bike that makes you happy. Ride safe.

Bought a Challenger Darkhorse back in April 2023, then in October bought a Harley RG Fast Johnnie ST 2023…. Both are great bikes, and both are very different machines. The Indian is bigger and more plush than the RG, the Harley feels more sporty and smaller with what feels to be more torque.

Very interesting video and a rather frustrating problem for sure. I have two bikes sharing a two car garage with my wife’s car. Both bikes are large but manageable if you park one behind the other. It took a long time for me to realize don’t get rid of the bikes you have but add to your collection. I have a Harley ultra limited that I don’t ride much but I’ve learned to hold on to it. Indian motorcycles have never appealed to me for some reason but that’s just me.

Since 2020 I have rode adventure bikes. I have a 2024 BMW R1250 GS Adventure and about a month ago I picked up a 2024 Road Glide. I love both bikes but each one serves a different purpose. I would say go for a second bike but it doesn't hurt to look for a different style and it would add to your content and maybe introduce new subscribers to you.

I too love the electric windshield on my Roadmaster. It's 68 here today, but is expected to be 96 next week, and raising and lowering the windshield is a blessing...especially when going from the Interstate to stop-and-go city traffic. And you're right, that heat management is a real issue right above the Cat on the Indian.

My Chieftain can get hot too. I have noticed its been much better since I gutted the CAT tho. And it mostly only bothers me if I have my leather lowers on the crash bars. You were on a Roadmaster.. so the lowers kinda traps that heat. If you were to remove the lowers.. the heat is not nearly as bad. Also, theres rumor that the Challenger/Pursuit might get a bump up from the 107 to a 112CI in the near future.

The last couple of years I owned my Roadmaster I would remove the lower fairings. If I had of kept the Indian I would have done the CAT delete.

Don't chase the power or torque numbers down that rabbit hole! How much power does one really need to go cruising down backroads at 55 mph? I'm 60 years of age now and comfort, reliability and ease of maintenance take precedent over power. I also sold my other bikes and now just enjoy my 2019 RM daily. I found that my other bikes both a 2006 Wide Glide and a 2017 Springfield were just setting to much. Like you I am spoiled to the amenities that the RM gives you. A big one for me is the remote locking trunk and saddle bags and yes that adjustable wind screen.

Thanks for your video! I have to ask did you go to your dealer for service for your Indian or do it yourself? Is it cheaper on the Indian to get oil changes? I have always like the Indians but have been a Harley guy I just bought a 17 Street glide I don’t know if I like the M8 it’s a little noisy it was a used unit. I have seen some great prices on some low mileage Indians, do you think the Indians handle as good as a harley at slow speeds? Thanks

The Harley is easier to handle going parking lot speed. I did go to an Indian dealer for service. Indian dealers of the past charged about half as much for service. Now they charge about 75% of what you would pay a Harley Dealership for service. You drain the oil, trans, and primary through one hole. So do you save some money on service.

Hmm I’ve been kicking around the idea about Indian. But I heard about the heat issues. Does that include the Challenger?

The Challenger is fully liquid cooled. I would think it would be better, but I have not spent enough time on one to know.

It would be great for the channel to have both brands. Then you could do tons of comparison videos, reliability issues, etcetera from an unbiased position.

I’m seriously considering trading my ‘23 Harley Ultra Limited for an Indian due to the woke/DEI crap coming out of HD leadership. But I’m not going to trade out of spite, etc. I’m waiting to see what the HD board members do and see if they continue down the Bud Light path.

Harley’s are over rated and over priced. Not worth the pseudo image.

Thorough review and fair to both sides. Try the Challenger/Pursuit and you won't have any heat issues. I love your bike and would hate to see you sell it for a loss. Right now there are political ramifications where some Harley owners are dumping their bikes (Harley has involved itself in some Woke/DEI/ESG controversies that have stirred some of the HD faithful) so you probably won't get top dollar for your bike. I personally don't have room in my garage or my budget for more than one bike...
