Well our RV road trip has ground to a halt as we've woken up in a bit of a pickle. We just can't get the electrics to work! We can't pull in the slides, lift the legs or drive off; we need to call Roadside Assistance. When we finally get the RV fixed, we are able to leave the Cracker Barrel and turn the day in to an adventure of a lifetime with an awe inspiring helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon.

I did the helicopter flight in 1985 and I've NEVER forgotten the experience! It was EPIC! They played the music from 'chariots of fire' in the headsets and I'll never forget that music as we flew over the edge! Wowow!! I hope you all remember your trip in 40 years time too. 🤣😂
I hope the boys realise how incredibly lucky they are to have such awesome parents giving them amazing lifetime experiences...

Surshark is definitely a plus. I checked airfare from London to New York and on the major airlines it was thousands for two people. I checked the prices on Norse airlines also. To give you an example: On Norse the fare for two people was $374 in economy London to NY and $810 in premium class. Then with Surfshark i switched my location to London and those same tickets were; $275 economy and $474 in premium. So apparently they charge different prices according to where you live. So, remember that the next time you fly.

Helicopter sure has to be ticked. We did similar over 20 years ago and landed next to the Colorado river for champagne breakfast and then flew over the Vegas strip. Memory of a lifetime. Amazing trip
Every RV is different when it comes to the oddly placed switches. And quite often they do not have labels or standard icons on them. In my previous van it took me a while to notice that one unmarked button was for a gray water tank heater 🤷♂️

Lovely to see your Grand Canyon trip, we drove down Highway 1 from San Francisco to Santa Barbara, amazing scenery & then to Las Vegas where we did the helicopter trip going over Hoover Dam & landing beside the Colorada for a glass of champagne. Then drove to San Diego for a few days & onto Los Angeles. Like you, love the States,(not New York) been a few times & done various train journeys.......its given me the bug to go again soooooooon !!

We did that bucket list helicopter trip in 2003 and we still talk about it today, a wonderful experience

Looks absolutely amazing you lucky chaps!!!!! Update on this years holiday so we’ve booked eurocamp from m Sheffield to Paris then Normandy I know it’s not far but it is with a 5 year old but only going for 2 weeks I totally can’t wait keep posting and stay safe 😉👌👌👌👌

no reason for dead batteries at all when you have a generator to run guess they arent used to running them here in the states I run mine all the time to keep the batteries topped off especially at night before the furnace is run and the generator charges faster then the engine does....someone screwed up the switch it happens when all the people there

My friends daughter is in the RAF. She was sent to the GC on an exercise. One night, in her tent, a rattlesnake entered. She said they are told if that happens do not move. And it went. Not sure about the state of her underpants though. Great video.

Hiya! The helicopter flight brought back memories for me. Those huge trees that looked so tiny! We had to be weighed and sat accordingly! My friend the lightest sat up by the pilot! Great vlog 👍👍👍👍

We had a switch like that in one of our vans, knocked it by accident while hoovering and had the Recovery people come out to the campsite 😂😂😂

Hi Guys great video loved the helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon, could you not have switched on the Genny, that would have given you power, or was that controlled by the Switch at the door as well? looking forward to more of your travels.
It’s all controlled by the master power switch, so nope, not an option at this point.

I would say when it comes to Motor Homes bigger is not always better especially those in the U.S. some of them are pretty crude, however everyone to their own.
Be careful of holiday sight seeing flights, their safety record world wide is abysmal, make sure you know what you are getting in to.

Bigger is definitely better when you’re travelling with 2 6ft++ teens and a tween who is quickly catching them up 🤣🤣

Why on earth don't you stay in proper RV parks?? the Cracker Barrell car parks are really only seen as last resorts if you are stuck, and there are no parks nearby? I guess its a money thing?
I think they like staying off-grid.
Maybe for you, but we don’t enjoy spending money on campsites when we are arriving late in the evening and leaving early in the morning. To us, that seems like a waste of money when all we want is a safe parking space which we can have for free.
We stay at RV parks when we want to use the facilities and their location suits us.
This part of the holiday is very much a road trip rather than a staying in one place holiday x
