I just bought my first quick release belt from Blue Fin (have to pull on it quite hard for it to releas) , I bought that one due to it being in sale and having the pocket with the tow rope in it useful as we already had to tow each other before we had a spare rope, let's us all still be attached with our board leashes.
I've only worn it in the house and the feel of it on me I'm not sure about, I think it's going to take a few tries to get used to wearing one.

Great to hear you are wearing the belt to get used to it. It should be comfortbale and easy to use for obvious safety reasons, so if it's not right then please consider trying another one such as Palm. Thanks for the comment and happy paddling! Thanks, Beau

Really great video! I have had my new red paddle quick release belt laying the whole summer collecting dust, also order that new palm leash last week, hope I get it soon. They have done a similar thing that I have modify on my starboard ankle leash, with tension it will release by it self. I never been a person that wear belt, I hope I will mange to wear it while I paddle.

Thoughts on best leash setup for small children? I’m often taking my son 4yo with me on short trips on the ocean. I’m using a normal leash on him connected to the belt of his pfd, but many a quick release basic coil is better?

Good question, We always had a small coiled leash onto our daughter's ankle. But I guess teaching them how to use a small quick release around their BA is only a good idea also.
If our daughter was paddling somewhere with a higher risk we would just get her to take it off (with a BA on). Obviously you need to be careful with any paddling and they should be close to you at all times anyway.
      Thanks Reuben

Great video as always. One quick release that doesn’t get talked about much and that I’m a real fan of is the Peak SUP leash which is a springy straightish leash that comes with a buckle that you put on your Peak PFD and which converts it to a quick release. That way you don’t need to wear a quick release belt and a PFD at the same time.
