I work with many international students turned Australian citizens and the rate of not being able to spell or construct a coherent sentence is mind boggling. This is in the public service. Many at executive level on $120k plus can’t spell and it’s embarrassing reading their emails.
When I was at university there were definitely 2 types of students. We had to study hard and there were no excuses. The international students would quietly go talk to the examiners later on and have their marks changed.
Such a racist thing to say. International students have in twice as hard, don’t have the support network of natives, have to cope with cultural shock while paying much higher fees than local students. Don’t you think these would be reason enough for them to get good grades when they do? In any case those who get good grades are only a small proportion.

Wow, this article really touches on an important topic from start to finish. The comments they’ve made are spot on. But, the comments below the video are underestimating all international students. Your country has only started to develop properly in the last 25-30 years. The sudden wealth is due to mining and the loads of money brought in by migrant international students. We have the utmost respect for your country. In Australia, even the smallest stone moved has a meaning. Everything progresses within a plan and program. However, what you’re missing is that your government has made this country heavily reliant on migrants. They need to stop the intake of migrants in an unwise manner. As a migrant who has been living in Sydney for two years, I am uncomfortable with this. By the end of 2022, the country changed so much that it’s becoming more expensive and worse. I understand Australians. However, the rising economic prices and the poor behaviour of ignorant international students are not the fault of international students. The problem lies with the poor immigration system and government management. You have no idea who you’re allowing into your country. You’re letting anyone in who brings a sack of gold. A new system needs to be established.
The students aren’t here for an education. They’re here to stay and then bring their family here. If they really wanted an education from these uni’s, they’d do it online, which is 100% possible.
been going on for years... in very early 2000s a major Melbourne university computer science dept failed a large group of overseas students who had paid an outside source to write code for an assignment and then handed in more than 20 copies of the same which meant they had failed the plagiarism rules of the dept the penalty being an auto fail for the assignment... Said students then had the vice chancellor overturn that result and reinstate them to prevent them giving a bad rap to the university in their home country...

Wasting my youth and money going to university massacred what little confidence I had as a young man. Fuck uni!
As a previous university professor, I fully sympathize with you. A lot of young people are being lied to about the value of their degrees.
Go to Tafe instead..
That’s a shame. I found uni pretty worthwhile and was a great addition to my foundation studies at TAFE.

Crazy isn’t it that the VCs are on 1 million dollar salaries and the institutions they head are considered charities.

Universities are in cahoots with the immigration department.
