Velvet intrigue looks so amazing on you! When I put it on, my 5 year old daughter said, “That lipstick makes you look like someone who doesn’t like lipstick.” 🤣🤣🤣 It looks so peachy on you and perfect, but it looks like more of a nude on me, and it’s kind of deadening. I really wanted velvet petal but it was sold out 😭😭😭

Happy to have found your channel because we have such similar coloring. My eyes are blue, but everything else is/was the same. I say was because I am turning grey-white-blonde now. I find as my hair is changing I am wearing cooler colors. I only got one (this time) from this collection so far, Velvet Petal, and I love Petal, even though I gravitate towards cooler colors now. Now I might need that Cinnabar gloss! I love Lisa Eldridge lip colors most of all, and they are always true to the color in the bullet and how she describes, and they have something special. She is a true colorist artist!

I know what you mean about gravitating more toward cool tones with cooler-toned hair - when I had blonde hair, I had a much easier time with cool toned lip colours than I do now! I think Cinnabar would look amazing on you - it seems to suit everyone, and I love how it plays with grays as well - I wore it with a grey top the other day and loved it!! ❤️ 🥰
I wish Velvet intrigue looked that peachy on me. I got it yesterday and it is a classic pinkish nude on me. I like its velvet finish, but the colour is not as expected. Nothing like the videos or the photographs I had seen. It looks amazing on you, though!

As always, such a full and informative review! Everything looked beautiful on you! I picked up all the new shades of the velvet lipsticks but I picked up a different smattering of the pencils. I already had Muse so I picked up Fawn as my other “nude” and then went for the bold colors. I think based on your swatches, I did well! I love the other liners but I know I use cool-toned lip liners more than warm toned ones. But I definitely want to know what you end up using, maybe you’ll sway me to grab Intrigue!

I had been looking forward to your LE videos and even though I had placed a small order when the release issued, based on your presentation it appears I "need" a couple more items! Your comparisons are so valuable, and considering I am now acquiring a collection of LE lipsticks, comparisons help me decide. Blush Lightly was gorgeous on you, and Cinnabar lights up your face-what a shade!.
I felt like the pinks all looked the same - i don’t know whats going on with lighting but its hard to tell the difference. The website is entirely different to a lot of the swatches people are doing!

Tough question, but I’d still have to go with Kitten Mischief, just because it is more wearable for me under any circumstances (ie. can be work with no makeup at all whereas I need to have makeup on to wear Intrigue). The touch more depth and pinkness in KM, along with the lucent formula, pushes it into the lead for me ❤️ 🥰
😂 yesss! I do think that Intrigue is probably pretty close to Songbird (I took screenshots of Lisa lipswatching each shade and compared them). But Songbird looks slightly pinker! 🥰 ❤️
Hi Kate Could you please let me know if the Lisa Eldridge lip glosses fades really quickly on you as well? I love how they moisturise my lips and keep them soft and nourished but I find the pigment/colour disappear after half an hour. I've got them in 3 colours and finds Muse and Charm fades to almost no colour after a short time. Blush seems to have a slightly longer staying power.What is your experience? I think it sounds like we have similar experiences with the glosses - I don’t find them especially long wearing, though I don’t expect a long wear time from glosses in general- but I do agree the deeper/brighter shades have a bit more longevity - Myth, Affair, Blush, Dragon, and Cinnabar. I do find they all last much better with a lip liner as well, though I don’t always bother with one! 🥰 ♥️ 🥰 ♥️

I finally went to pick up my package from LE, I was putting the lipsticks on without any other make up. Just one by one from light to dark, and I was so mad at myself to not picking up velvet pedal because velvet intrigue is to warm and hint to light for me. Into a good makeup look with a more cool lipliner ( maby Fawn that I picked up) it will work, I hope ... I loved velvet affair on myself , I was surprised because I was afraid it would pull to brown on me. And velvet Bush is my favorite so far of the velvets with a light application it is almost the color of my lips but a bit darker. Velvet Blush lightly is also really nice on me. But maby I had to skip that one. And really so happy with 4 lipliners. It is the first time trying them. Really happy. I have to try the foundation samples when I have some time. I am curious. I have light 5,6,7,and 8 to try. And from the look off the sample it would be maby not so bad.

I can imagine that Intrigue might be, as I know you often like cooler tones, but I bet you’re right that with a cooler liner like Fawn, it could be beautiful! I think it depends on the foundation shade - for example, I like Crystal Nebula when I wear slightly darker and or warmer-neutral foundation shades such as MUFE Reboot in Y218, Chanel Sublimage l’essence de Teint in BD01. I just find that with this LE shade 1, which is a true match to my fair skin (matching my neck), it doesn’t really highlight, as it is darker and much more yellow-y than the foundation (which I consider a cool-leaning neutral).
Do you know what shade you are in Nars Sheer Glow foundation by any chance? I shade matched Nars Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc on Lisa Eldridge website and it said shade 9, which is medium olive... I'm very fair so I doubt that's correct 🙂
I never had Sheer Glow but I used Mont Blanc in their All Day Luminous foundation and it was a bit dark for me, but I could make it work. I would have said that matching it to 9 is wrong, but I can’t be sure - some of the shades aren’t as dark as they might seem in the LEs! 🥰 ❤️
Wonderful review, Kate, thank you so much! I need to ask bc I seem to be the only one but has anyone had a bad experience with the foundation? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I tried the first sample and it looked atrocious on my skin 😢 The shade match is perfection and the finish to the touch is like baby skin but the look of it omg, it's *bad*. It crumbled into chunks under my fingers, it streaked so hard that I couldn't smooth it out, I only ended up lifting all of it off my face the more I tried. But the worst thing is it just sits on my skin in huge dry-looking patches and it emphasises every single line I have on my skin, even ones I never knew existed. It's like looking at the outline of skin cells under a microscope 😔😔 I want this to work so much and I know Lisa knows what she's doing but I'm at a complete loss. If anyone has any tips as to what I should be doing differently, it'd be greatly appreciated ❤
Oh no! What a shame!! Maybe you could try playing with different skincare/ primers if you haven’t tried that already 🤗 Hopefully some other commenters may have some helpful tips for you ❤️ 🥰 ❤️ 🥰

Hi Kate. I bought Dragon liner to go with Cinnabar lipstick. I am pale like you but super pink. I thought that Cinnabar liner would look way too dark for me. Do you think that Dragon liner is suitable with that lipstick or should I pick up the Cinnabar liner as well?

Colour wise, I think Velvet Intrigue is the most similar, but it is in a matte formula. For her satins, I’d say BP is somewhere in between Le Mepris and Kitten Mischief 🥰
I wish there was a lighter version of the lightest shade with golden undertones. I couldn't find a perfect match. I have to mix 2/3 of Light 1 with 1/3 of Light 3 for a perfect match.
I found the LE highlighters all to be too deep. Hopefully shade 1 of the foundation will work for me. I’ve seen others say it was too dark, so fingers crossed.

I know what you mean about gravitating more toward cool tones with cooler-toned hair - when I had blonde hair, I had a much easier time with cool toned lip colours than I do now! I think Cinnabar would look amazing on you - it seems to suit everyone, and I love how it plays with grays as well - I wore it with a grey top the other day and loved it!! ❤️ 🥰

I wish Velvet intrigue looked that peachy on me. I got it yesterday and it is a classic pinkish nude on me. I like its velvet finish, but the colour is not as expected. Nothing like the videos or the photographs I had seen. It looks amazing on you, though!

As always, such a full and informative review! Everything looked beautiful on you! I picked up all the new shades of the velvet lipsticks but I picked up a different smattering of the pencils. I already had Muse so I picked up Fawn as my other “nude” and then went for the bold colors. I think based on your swatches, I did well! I love the other liners but I know I use cool-toned lip liners more than warm toned ones. But I definitely want to know what you end up using, maybe you’ll sway me to grab Intrigue!

Which colour do you prefer out of velvet intrigue or kitten mischief?
Tough question, but I’d still have to go with Kitten Mischief, just because it is more wearable for me under any circumstances (ie. can be work with no makeup at all whereas I need to have makeup on to wear Intrigue). The touch more depth and pinkness in KM, along with the lucent formula, pushes it into the lead for me ❤️ 🥰

Hi Kate Could you please let me know if the Lisa Eldridge lip glosses fades really quickly on you as well? I love how they moisturise my lips and keep them soft and nourished but I find the pigment/colour disappear after half an hour. I've got them in 3 colours and finds Muse and Charm fades to almost no colour after a short time. Blush seems to have a slightly longer staying power.What is your experience? I think it sounds like we have similar experiences with the glosses - I don’t find them especially long wearing, though I don’t expect a long wear time from glosses in general- but I do agree the deeper/brighter shades have a bit more longevity - Myth, Affair, Blush, Dragon, and Cinnabar. I do find they all last much better with a lip liner as well, though I don’t always bother with one! 🥰 ♥️ 🥰 ♥️

I finally went to pick up my package from LE, I was putting the lipsticks on without any other make up. Just one by one from light to dark, and I was so mad at myself to not picking up velvet pedal because velvet intrigue is to warm and hint to light for me. Into a good makeup look with a more cool lipliner ( maby Fawn that I picked up) it will work, I hope ... I loved velvet affair on myself , I was surprised because I was afraid it would pull to brown on me. And velvet Bush is my favorite so far of the velvets with a light application it is almost the color of my lips but a bit darker. Velvet Blush lightly is also really nice on me. But maby I had to skip that one. And really so happy with 4 lipliners. It is the first time trying them. Really happy. I have to try the foundation samples when I have some time. I am curious. I have light 5,6,7,and 8 to try. And from the look off the sample it would be maby not so bad.

Do you think the highlighter doesn't go with the foundation.....or , regardless it doesn't suit fair skin tone overall?
I think it depends on the foundation shade - for example, I like Crystal Nebula when I wear slightly darker and or warmer-neutral foundation shades such as MUFE Reboot in Y218, Chanel Sublimage l’essence de Teint in BD01. I just find that with this LE shade 1, which is a true match to my fair skin (matching my neck), it doesn’t really highlight, as it is darker and much more yellow-y than the foundation (which I consider a cool-leaning neutral).

Do you know what shade you are in Nars Sheer Glow foundation by any chance? I shade matched Nars Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc on Lisa Eldridge website and it said shade 9, which is medium olive... I'm very fair so I doubt that's correct 🙂
I never had Sheer Glow but I used Mont Blanc in their All Day Luminous foundation and it was a bit dark for me, but I could make it work. I would have said that matching it to 9 is wrong, but I can’t be sure - some of the shades aren’t as dark as they might seem in the LEs! 🥰 ❤️

Wonderful review, Kate, thank you so much! I need to ask bc I seem to be the only one but has anyone had a bad experience with the foundation? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I tried the first sample and it looked atrocious on my skin 😢 The shade match is perfection and the finish to the touch is like baby skin but the look of it omg, it's *bad*. It crumbled into chunks under my fingers, it streaked so hard that I couldn't smooth it out, I only ended up lifting all of it off my face the more I tried. But the worst thing is it just sits on my skin in huge dry-looking patches and it emphasises every single line I have on my skin, even ones I never knew existed. It's like looking at the outline of skin cells under a microscope 😔😔 I want this to work so much and I know Lisa knows what she's doing but I'm at a complete loss. If anyone has any tips as to what I should be doing differently, it'd be greatly appreciated ❤

Hi Kate. I bought Dragon liner to go with Cinnabar lipstick. I am pale like you but super pink. I thought that Cinnabar liner would look way too dark for me. Do you think that Dragon liner is suitable with that lipstick or should I pick up the Cinnabar liner as well?
Hi Sarah! Yes, I think those will go together beautifully- Dragon should lighten up the feel of Cinnabar a bit and pull out the brightness of the colour! ❤️ 🥰

Colour wise, I think Velvet Intrigue is the most similar, but it is in a matte formula. For her satins, I’d say BP is somewhere in between Le Mepris and Kitten Mischief 🥰
I wish there was a lighter version of the lightest shade with golden undertones. I couldn't find a perfect match. I have to mix 2/3 of Light 1 with 1/3 of Light 3 for a perfect match.

I found the LE highlighters all to be too deep. Hopefully shade 1 of the foundation will work for me. I’ve seen others say it was too dark, so fingers crossed.
