It looks like Angel Food cake. I love these types of cakes. No waiting around until a piece of cake comes to room temperature. You can serve it straight from the refrigerator and it will still be completely soft... 😋

I made this cake, two points. I added baking powder but my cake had a deep crack - so probably not needed. Also i should have topped up the water near the end. But it came out super soft and light (i made two, one with raisins). Great recipe!
@@86farha i used grams also my eggs were medium to small. I watched a different video on when to stop whipping the egg whites (they need a form soft peaks and hold those peaks) finally my yoke and flour mix looked a lot thinker than the video but when mixed with the whites it was fine.
Thank you for this fantastic recipe! I am a beginner at baking and this cake turned out surprisingly well. It was light, fluffy and not too sweet. We are in lockdown in Sydney, Australia at the moment and I didn’t want to use up all of my ingredients to make such a big cake on the first try so ended up standardising the recipe in half to bake in a 15cm cake tin. I also decorated the cake with some whipped cream. If anyone is interested in trialing this approach just whip 2 cups of thickened cream with 4 tablespoon of icing/confectionery sugar to put in between layers and to decorate the cake. I used this recipe for my left over strawberry frosting. I did not achieve the smooth batter for the oil and cake flour mix, i added a lot more milk than what was indicated here. The baking time in our oven is approx 80 minutes, 7 inches circle cake pan. Cake's taste turned out eggy, i should have added more vanilla and lime juice. The texture, bounce, soft is superb just like on the video! It's not airy, not that sweet. My parents loved it! On one sitting, 4 slices have been eaten, countdown to the 4 remaining slices haha! 😅 Thank you for your awesome recipes!!

I have to write this... I used all purpose flour..and needed little more oil than stated & left the cake in the oven for 30mins before taking it out.. The cake came out soooo soft...it was like eating a pillow that melted in the mouth.. Thanks for this amazing recipe.. . . After more research I realised this is castella cake...not chiffon..
@@peach7103 it just makes it more flavorful, a mixture of vanilla and lemon. Some people don’t like it, but for me it’s more tasty that way. Same thing if you add a teaspoon of dissolved coffee to your chocolate cake batter gives it a more richer chocolate taste.

@@alenausman3024 yes, no baking powder added. As long as your meringue is perfect. Make sure that there's no egg yolks,water in your egg whites or else your cake will deflate. Also use folding method and do not over mix. Chiffon is kinda sensitive though.

Hi!! I think your measurements are wrong .. I tried this but the consistency of the batter wasnt like yours .. so I had to add more oil and milk to get it to your consistency .. please check your measurements ... the taste was good though after I made it with the required adjustments

The steaming and the lower baking temperature makes the cake moist. I'd not skip it.
If you bake the cake in oven then keep the mould in another mould which contains water. It'll stay moist

You are right! If you watch the video there is a cut, I think more was added, this is why recipes are better in grams or oz
Yes tried them too i think the flour in the recipe is only half cup not 1 cup cake flour i made them also and added more oil and milk

If you are afraid about the egg smell ,vanilla essence or lemon zest if added to the yolk while mixing will cut the smell
