Weird. I was thinking, "I wish he taught that kid manners. A room full of people don't need to hear one person in the audience talk the entire time." Usually, Finegold tells them "no talking" or "shhh" or other similar things, and I really wish he did here.
Thank you GM Finegold for all of these great lectures. You're the perfect mix of wit, general knowledge, and great chess analysis. All the best and God bless from a fellow vegan and chess enthusiast who clearly remembers when Fischer took down Spassky...just about 6 months after I'd taught myself how to play chess.
This is weird timing. I met Kasparov 2 nights ago in long and spoke to him at length. I mentioned you, said "do you know Ben Finegold?" To which said "of course". This is true. I got him to sign a chess board for me and there are photos :)
"And they played an opening you never heard of." -- "The Sicilian." -- "Correct!" IDK but i just love how Ben interacts with the kids. If i was a kid i would have loved him to death. And as i AM a kid (although a 49-year old), i STILL love him to death -- confusing the audience.
Why aren’t all kids as quite and wise as Archer man… archer top student. But seriously maybe specify if it’s kid class or whatever, this lecture was totally different quality from all the others with the same format.
Seems to be for at least one of the following: 1) People disagreeing that Morphy/Fischer were better than Kasparov. 2) People annoyed by the kid in the video. 3) People annoyed that this is a re-upload from an old lecture. 4) People not realizing this was for a beginner/kid’s class and expecting this to be a higher-level lecture and not one showing opponents making pretty bad blunders.
This video, like many others, I started to notice recently, has been uploaded long time ago, now it's been made private (still have it on favourites) and a new identical one has been made, don't think that's nice behaviour.
I agree that Kasparov isn't the greatest of all time. The reason is he had the backing of a football team of fantastic GMs analyzing for him. It is almost like he had an engine to help with preparation when others only had a second and maybe a third. He had people examining his opponents and analyzing with Kasparov getting notes and reading them. He was still magnificent at chess, but the large advantage he had during preparation just pushed him into a new league during his peak. I could be wrong, but if the second best player in Russia got all of the resources (with plenty coming from Kasparov), I think they would have had a stunning career as well. People like Morphy and Fischer who did it all mostly by themselves impress me much more. My list is 1. Fischer 2. Morphy 3. Kasparov. After that, there is maybe 4. Magnus and then it gets a bit harder to judge the dozens of immaculate players to put as number 5.
I wonder if Ben sometimes has made a disappearance-act and made an innocent child disappear in thin air, making the others so astonished that they couldn´t find words for it... ;) ;) ;)
Ben loose some weight and stop promoting Paul Morphy as anywhere near GOAT level. If Kasparov was from USA you'd be having his pic above your bed. Bobby is 3rd after Kasparov (GOAT) and Magnus.
According to accuracy (analyzed by Stockfish using all available games), Carlsen is first by a tiny edge, Fischer is a close second, Morphy is third and Kasparov is fourth. But Carlsen can easily drop to second place if his accuracy drops as he gets older.
Finegold, has the patience of a saint?!
Even though Ben is a cold hearted sob it warms my heart to see him interact with kids especially about chess

@@AG-ld6rv he told them to not talk multiple times. Multiple times. They very young though, give them a break.
One such kid exists in every lecture.
Judit lecture: absolutely insane crazy chess games
Garry lecture: so his opponent let his Queen be trapped
this is a lecture for kids. a full lecture about Kasparov would be a bit more sophisticated
Very suspicious
@@sublimeade Frankly ridiculous
@@smort123mostly frankly
@@lukemarks3281 Mainly. Etcetera.
It's lovely, its like being back at school. Ben's great ❤
8:06 the look into the camera is comedy gold

My god, congrats man!!!! I was lucky enough to meet Ben and get a signature a couple years back and my life finally felt complete
@joebidet3606
Did you ask Ben finegold if he knew Kasparov?
Superfun! thanks Ben❤
"SSSHHH no talking" lmao
2018, solid!
What adults are gonna develop from the kids listening to this.
Funny ones.
Hopefully not boring like you, mister nobody!
Shhhh no talking
Go Archer
Also, Grandmasters with humor and sound decision making skills? 🤷🏾♂️

"I already saw this is 2018" so he watched it *clicks fingers and points at the camera* again!
I swear, I was about to drive up to Georgia, Anakin Skywalker those kids and drive back home with a smile on my face.
😅😂😂
Or you can stop moaning about free RUclips content and pay for a private lesson instead?
There are too many of them, what are we going to do?
24:05 Damn, Ben is a cold piece of work, lol...
24:25 The text in front of robert is kaPSarov 😅😅 sorry but i accidentally got it
I never thought you could teach Kasparov to U1400s
"I thought I was French, so I retreated." 💀
😳 😂😂😂
This guy Kasparov sounds pretty good. Might become a promising pro.
And you are funny, original and knows the right place to make the right jokes. Might become a promising pro comedian.
These kids add a pretty good natured humor to the lecture 😂
In Kasparov vs Nunn, doesn't b5 defend against mate?
6:20 "then you'll cry like a grandmaster." "hehe yeah"
Isn't this a re-upload?
It is 2hours ago. A fresh video I lied.
So good
I have snacks if you have Finegold.
Ben is right on the money as to the 1, 2, and 3 GOATs - because I said so.
Why aren’t all kids as quite and wise as Archer man… archer top student.

Probably because their fathers and grandfathers weren't grandmasters unlike Archer's also he is higher rated and sounds older than them.
I'd love to read "Give Up Like a Grandmaster".
😮how do u make a kasparov game list without adding one aganst karpov.
This is more like flashy Uno reverse games for kids. Vs Karpov games have much less blunders per capita.
14:15
So good with the kids
34:19 Ben Finegold is the best 😂😂
Those kids 😂😂😂
14:14 CORRECT
this vid gave me a strong resolution to never have kids.
Why do the commenters hate ben so much?

Is this a chess lecture or a kindergarten?
Anyone else schedule a vasectomy after watching this?
No, I had mine during, cuz I couldn't wait.

Morphy Tal Alekhine Kasparov had More beautiful games than Fischer!!
Is Benjamin on kokain? Also i dont care etc. mainly etc
Kasparov IS the greatest player of all time, Ben. You’re the one not thinking straight!
Bobby Fischer the one who escaped from karpov lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂 and he is second??? 😂😂😂😂
I wonder if Ben sometimes has made a disappearance-act and made an innocent child disappear in thin air, making the others so astonished that they couldn´t find words for it... ;) ;) ;)
God bless Finegold. Annoying brats interrupting and yelling random stuff... keeps cool, makes a joke, keeps on trucking.
No talking
Thai like a grandmaster
dummest thing Ben ever said. Paul Morphy is greatest of all time. Paul Morphy played against terrible opponents.

Morphy is the strongest because of his positioning, accuracy, tactics et cetera. Mainly et cetera.
@@XVRMEDIA Sure pal. Except that wasn't Stockfish. Also Fischer was Tal's b***h whereas Moprhy played against Jesus's horses.
You, with some crazy comment.
@@hellothere9763 Fischer lost to Tal when he was a kid. also Morphy basically invented modern chess. also your dumb comments are dumb.
This should've been called 'blunders of kasparov's opponents' lmao
