I certainly feel you have this project well in hand. I good builder always measures twice to make sure all of the numbers are on the mark. Well done.
Learning how to run the cylinder boring machine looks pretty challenging. A lot of steps setting it all up. Don't be afraid to ask for help as much as you need getting all setup correctly until you can do it all from memory. Maybe, the next time Lee has another cylinder boring job, ask Lee if you can teach him hw to set it up? The quickest way to learn anything is to teach someone else how to do it.
See you next weekend. If you are half as excited as I am about this project, your heart his racing a thousand miles and hour.
    Alan from North Carolina, USA

Sometimes u can just replace the orings on sensors done it myself a few times why replace a good working sensor for the price of a oring

I'd be very happy for you to build up a engine for me. Your work is very clean and you have good attention to detail.
    The black rockers look great.

Isaac, if you're buying sensors go for OEM and not cheaper after market, Chinese, items. The latter are not good quality and if you pay half you'll end up paying twice (atleast). And if the old sensors are OK keep them as spares.

I bought a 05 Widetrack STI off a Subaru specialist breaker that wouldn’t pass mot on emissions and it was the lambda, first wasn’t right , second passed it but not sure if that was due to his mate passing it and I felt it never ran right.
Management light came on now and then but you could use it and it not come on .
Took it to a Subaru specialist and they said it needs a genuine lambda and then it ran right oh and the Vatican wasn’t working .
End result around 280 ho back thank you and yes these things like decent parts fitted not cheap chinese crap

Where the rocker covers sit in the car it doesn’t really matter what you paint them 😂I vote for nipple pink you can’t see them anyway

Agreed about the black rocker covers for some contrast.
That's really annoying that a pretty comprehensive looking gasket set like that didn't include those half moon sections, I hate when I buy a parts or gasket set and they don't come with simple little things like a split pin that's obviously needed or any little part you then have to order after then wait even longer for something that SHOULD have been with to start. I'm not sure about "billet" ones, admittedly I haven't seen them to know but, it sounds like something you'll have to surface to match the bit you took off the head. If those rubber ones tend to leak over time, yeah, maybe a great idea but otherwise, the rubber at least will simply compress that tiny bit more.

Nice work Isaac, enjoying watching you build up your own engine. Give a thought too doing a little gentle porting especially on the exhaust, just blending the sharp turns out, hopefully you put 3 angle seats on the seats. All this helps with the turbo spool up time. Great work and looking forward to the dyno numbers.

Love the black camshaft covers Isaac. Definitely put a Barum Engines logo on them. Is there any way you can get a small decal saying "built by Isaac"? You don't know it but you are actually becoming famous.

Please put a new oil modine on engine as that's traps swarf when the engine failed and that will destroy the new shells and the crank

The small fire and burnt finger incident should be logged in the company's RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) policy. The apprentice may also be entitled to some compo for his injury.
