Charles is a great guy. He has helped me out tremendously my reloading. I have an old Lyman mould that I have been working on and he has really helped me with it.
He's very knowledgeable, and has probably forgotten more than most people will ever learn. These are the first steel molds that I've owned, and Charlie has been a great help to get me heading in the right direction.
I don't joke when I say that this community has been a life changer for me, and you have been an important part of the transformation. Thank you for being such an important part of my life. Charlie is part of it, too. And his caring has allowed me to give new life to these molds.
I had no idea you were Charles irby's cousin! I watch all of his videos as well that's awesome 🙌 Way to bring some new life back into those old molds Jerry 👊😎🇺🇸
We found out by accident, that we're distantly related. If you ever come join us on Discord, my favorite room is the 'Ole Porch Dogs' that Charlie set up. Great discussions, lot of friendly help, and great friendships.
I was able to get the handle pins from RCBS like that. One mould didn't have the pins so I could attach the mould to the handles. I have another used RCBS mould coming soon, and if anything needs to be replaced, or repaired, I'm confident that RCBS will be able to take care of it.
@@Jerry-dk8se yes Sir RCBS is a hell of a company so is Dillon and if I had to guess Lyman and lee are just as good. It’s a shame not more companies in the United States worked the same way. But I have to believe that part of the reason a lot of companies in the United States don’t act the same as the reloading companies. Is strictly do to scammers taking advantage of good customer service.
Next time you have to go down to the Hardware store, Just take the mold with you without the lock screw in it, then go through the screws at the store and find one that fits. Btw, those are Saeco mold handles, they are really nice. I have a few sets of them.
@@Jerry-dk8se Those are Saeco. Saeco equipment is one of the best made, unfortunately, it is also pricy. if you by chance run across some Saeco molds for a reasonable price, pick them up as they are worth having, they are a joy to use and every design they cut cherries for are proven performance designs, that is why they cost so much to buy new.
It's a great mold! Almost every used mold has its own characteristics, and I was trying to help others who are buying used molds and what to look for and address. Thank you, again for the mold! She's a beauty, and will deliver a lot of casting and shooting pleasure throughout my life. I hope that you didn't interpret any of my video as criticism? It wasn't mean as that, and I'm grateful for the gift, my friend.
@@Jerry-dk8se oh no I wasn't taken it a criticism.... I found it interesting in what you had to say bout it... I may not cast but I take the information I learn and put it my memory account lol..
I'm wondering if the handle offset isn't purpose made ? When the sprue is open , one mold half will cant . I'm wondering if they do this to aid with pin alignment with the sprue plate in the open position before closing the mold .
Don't know, James. But some of the older handles weren't offset, but everyone who has gotten them in the past 6 months all have the same offset. But not a problem getting them right.

Skeeters Bullet + 2400 = a great combination, Unique ain't bad either.
I shot these, initially, with Unique. The next set will be with Titegroup, since I have 5# of it...
Great video Jerry, I too have that Lyman 358156 mold & love it. I haven’t forgot to send you some of those full wad cutters. Thanks for sharing
No hurries, my friend. I have a ton of 358 bullets to shoot. I don't gas check the 358156, and they shoot great.
I emailed RCBS and they sent me everything for my 38 150 SWC mold for free no questions asked.

Thanks Dave. I didn't see any name on the handles, and Lyman changed their designs several times, so I wasn't sure of their pedigree.

@@Thorsaxe777 I'm always on the lookout for old molds, and especially Saeco and Ideal. But not many used molds around here
That 358156 is probably my favorite Lyman mold. Gas checked or not they shoot great in all my guns! 👍🏻👍🏻
I haven't gas checked these, and shoot them around 1K, and they're dead accurate! That's why I wanted the 2 cavity mold, so I can make a lot more!
slightly older lyman 2cav handles
Well hope it works good for you. I know nothing about the mold when i bought it. I didn't know if there were certain questions that needed to be asked
