    Brilliant video! It's by far the clearest and most complete explanation of Carcassonne I've seen on RUclips, well done! I just bought the game, I'll try it this aftermoon.

    2:04 contradicts with 3:14….
    If you can’t place in a city that another player is in how does the scenario at 3:14 happen?

    • @Kazmahu
      @Kazmahu 2 года назад

      He explains this later. At the time the two different colour tokens were placed, the cities were separated by empty void. A later tile was placed in the middle and connected them.

    Thanks for the excellent video. I wonder if you could answer a couple of questions I have regarding the game. I haven;t purchased it yet, but after waiting a few review, it raised a couple of rule questions.
    1. Regarding the cloisters and the surrounding with tiles; are these completely a different thing from the small churches (that look like slightly smaller cloisters) that have the roads coming from them? Do I treat a church with a road just as a normal closed road, or can I surround them with 8 tiles (so long as they match properly) for the 9 points as well?
    2. If a there is a tile on the board that has not been claimed, can I put my follower on it on my move, or can I only place flowers on tiles immediately after I have placed them?

    • @TripleSGames
      @TripleSGames  8 лет назад +5

      +Mike JB 1. I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to, you should look online for the rules to figure out the answer specifically. 2. You are only allowed to place a follower on the tile you just placed.

    • @MikeJB
      @MikeJB 8 лет назад +1

      Triple S Games Thanks for the reply. To clarify (regarding the cloisters); on the tiles, there are in fact different types of little churches (cloisters): one is a cloister all by itself, with no road or other features leading from it. The other is a similar looking little church, but it does have roads leading out from it. See the top line of four churches in the following image: tinyurl.com/jqygzc7
      Are all these churches treated the same, i.e. surround them on all sides with tiles and then claim 9 points (assuming you have a follower on it of course)?

    • @TripleSGames
      @TripleSGames  8 лет назад +2

      +Mike JB yes all those are cloisters and treated the same.

      Great review. I have played it a few times and it is a lot of fun. I couldnt find any rulings on the internet so I was hoping you could help. If I placed a tile that completes a farm and road at the same time, can i score both on the same turn and two meeples would return to my hand?

  • @WR3ND
    @WR3ND 5 лет назад

    So if you don't have the most nor tied for the most meeples on a scoring area, you don't get any points either at the end of the game or before?

  • @reelbigbear
    @reelbigbear 7 лет назад +1

    You show a farmer being placed in the center of a tile, but I was taught that the mepole must be placed on one of the four long edges (with the monastery being an exception) If you have the corners of city/city/road/road you may not play a farmer on that tile.
    We also play that at the end of the game completed cities can count multiple times, once for the winner of each farm they are attached to.
    Are we playing wrong?

    daim that game is difficult to learn

    • @markm4601
      @markm4601 7 лет назад +1

      It's actually really simple to learn, but strategy can be difficult. I just bought the game and have watched a Tabletop play of it from Will Wheaton, read the rules, and watched this and it's actually pretty simple. The rules actually recommend not playing with farmers to start so you can get a good idea of it before introducing the more complex farms.
      I'll be playing tonight and look forward to it!

      Garrett Smith you can. One player starts a road, another player starts a different road, then during gameplay the two roads connect.

    Watched this 4 times and still couldn't get it. It's way too jumpy. Should have shown how two meeples can connect when you mentioned they cant the first time?? not wait to the end..
    It was like "Two meeples can not be placed in the same area, but if they are on the road together then this is how it scores" leaves your brain feeling behind.
