    This is the third Pagani I've had through my door in a month( sometimes I wish I'd never found this Chanel because I'm hooked) .
    All is true....the loom is a bit weak but not what I'd call bad, the clasp is a bit stiff but to me that is reassuring.
    The Daytona model is fantastic but this is without doubt the best budget watch I have purchased.
    It looses 6 seconds a day....and when I put it next to my Omega Planet Ocean ( my best watch) you really do have to respect these guys for turning out such a bargain.....it does not feel any less quality .Even the cyclops does it's job, the bezel is tight with hardly any back movement.....if anybody saw you wearing it I have no doubts that it would be admired.
    Go spend your £2000 plus change on a holiday with the kids.....I can look forward to owning dozens of selected choice watches now instead of only a few like I started out...I argue my point often at BBQs with friends that don't understand the logistics of clever marketing by high profile manufacturers and there high profile celebrity endorsements...we are manipulated all the time.... beautiful time pieces , certainly but these are also..case rested.
    Ever thought about getting into politics Jody?😜

    • @Nicolailund15
      @Nicolailund15 4 года назад

      Well I bought 2 of them, and both have back play in the bezel, when put at 12 position the bezel doesn't even align and is a bit off. The cyclops is also a slight bit off point. But when said that, for that money i can live with the detail not being on point, but at the same time it annoys me that if they got those things right, i would have nothing to complain about. It doesn't help when you only got 2000$ watches before trying to buy one of these.

    Hi Jody, greetings from a cold dark North East England.
    Following your rave review of this watch, I pulled the trigger and ordered one. If arrived today...wow! If anything you understated this watch, it's stunning!! I'm absolutely thrilled with it.
    Even using a x10 loupe to look at the finish of the watch, It's almost flawless. God knows how this can be achieved at this price point.
    Like you, I'm the pround owner of a Navitimer, my wife's recently bought me a new genuine Breitling leather strap for it.
    At £700, I could have bought 12 Pagani's for the cost of a Breitling strap!!
    Your channel is great fun and uber informative thank you.

    Just recieved my pagani design watch, really pleased so far running about 8-15 seconds fast a day which I'm ok with. The bezel and the lume is better than I was expecting and the overall finish is very good. My only gripe was getting used to the crown which was a bit rough.👍👍

    @BigLou19 Год назад +1

    I bought a Pagani Gold yellow sub (blue dial) and the bezel is tight with no back play. Also the lume is great! I charged it before bed & I slept with it on and I woke up in the middle of the night and I still could read the time! The only gripe I have is the bracelet was a little noisy making some “dry” sounds but I took my KPL knife pívot lube and applied to the hinges and now it’s perfect! I’m in love with my Pagani! It’s beautiful! My next one will be the Pagani Hulk!

    I believe that this watch is the best affordable sub homage in the market. I live in a country with a very high dollar rate and of all those mentioned, the one that exceeded my expectations the most was Pagani, which has a Seiko NH35 movement (mine makes + -4 seconds a day) and great constructive quality under $70-$100.

    Hey Jody. Thank you for that review. I have the bi-colour blue model for almost a month now and I love it. I received mine 2 weeks ago. I opted for the very "mundane' black bezel because it goes with anything from a 'suit & tie' to 'sweatpants & t-shirts'. This is the absolute "best bang for the dollar" I have ever seen on a watch. In my opinion, this Pagani Submariner just made every Invicta Submariner obsolete. The bigger 43mm case is perfect, if you are also a tad bigger. Pagani Designs has a older version of this model, so make sure you pay close attention to the spec sheet when purchasing. The older model does NOT have a SEIKO movement or Sapphire glass. So the new upgrades are very welcomed at really no added expense. I recommend this watch to anyone who has an interest in the hobby. But DO make sure you get the new model!

    • @PaulGPhotography
      @PaulGPhotography 4 года назад

      Would you recommend this over a Vostok Amphibia?

    • @Spectt84
      @Spectt84 4 года назад

      I personally would rather have the Pagani. But that's me, I was specifically looking for the Submariner "look". Neither choice is "wrong". They are different watches. One is a visually identical homage of the Rolex Submariner, although slightly larger. The Vostok is more of an original design although clearly influenced by the Rolex Submariner. I don't know EVERYTHING there is to know about the Amphibia, but I do believe they are smaller than the Pagani, probably closer to the original size of a Submariner... I'm a 6'4 and not thin, the bigger Pagani is the perfect size for me. But again, the answer to that question is unique to you. I'm sure they both tell time very well. I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality on the Pagani and I believe they are slightly cheaper. Good luck! 👍

    I have owned this watch for nearly a year and wear it mostly for fun. Its beautiful, yeah it’s not an 11k original submariner but I paid £55 off Amazon. I wear a Tudor Pelagos for work and. Steinhart Green Ocean One of an evening. The Pagani is my beater for the weekends and it has never let me down. The quality matches the prize but actually with the specs exceeds. Such a bargain and I think the size adds to the quality. I’m a 7 inch wrist. Fits fine. I love it! Thanks JOMW

      ImMoral * 500 man hours for a Rolex? I find that hard to believe. Aren’t many of the parts in their watches produced and cut by machine? Yes, of course there is polishing and finishing but it’s hardly going to be on the same scale at Patek or Lange. Also, their movements are superbly built but ultimately utilitarian and fairly plain in terms of finishing and hence covered by a case back.

Only issues I found, so far, with the watch is that it states everywere that the lug width is 20mm while my one is 21mm - so that my 20mm NATOs look a bit too tiny.
    The screws of bracelet get lose to a point the watch fell off my wrist, but a bit of Loctite will solve that.

    I just received mine today. It took about 5 weeks to arrive. It arrived from Singapore. I have to be honest, for $73.00 shipped I'm amazed by the quality of it. I didn't expect much, but I would say for the money, you can't get anything better. I would say the biggest competition for it would be the Invicta Pro Diver at the price point. There was one small defect/mark on the case/lug but overall very surprised. The cyclops has some dust or lint stuck in between, and I can't get it out for the life of me (frustrating). I did open the back case and cleaned some more dust out with rodico. I opted for the hulk style, and I love it! I'd like a sub one day, but life has different priorities at the moment and this fits in with the budget. It did, in fact, have an NH35A (i don't see any Seiko markings, but I"m not sure how Seiko sells to 3rd party buyers) Lume is garbage like you said (not sure why they would overlook this). As a budget watch, I give this a 9/10 because nothing is perfect!
    Edit: My crown certainly requires way more screwing than yours. (Maybe they updated it?) It feels solid.

      Francis Bawasanta the watch is still powering away as good as the day I bought it. Mind you though I have to add that I don’t wear the watch everyday. I have something like 20 different watches in my collection so I rotate them all around rather frequently. I am also a stickler for keeping my things in immaculate condition so every watch is polished both before wearing and before they go back into the case. The Pagani lives in my watch winder box when not on my wrist and it does keep pretty good time. For the money I still say that it’s a great bargain.

    I have just recieved this watch through the mail from aliexpress after ordering it only a week ago, using your link and I must say I am STUNNED. I paid £52 for this including delivery and this is ridiculous value for money! I'm just so impressed...obviously I haven't had chance to test out how much its losing or gaining each day yet but so far it's on point. I did have to remove a blue sticker which was covering the etched logo on the crown which was a bit of a p.i.t.a - I do have one question though and it's probably a silly one : on caliber corner I can see that the nh35a is hand winding which it appears to be, however it just winds and winds and winds and never seems to stop. They say approx 52 (or so) rotations of the crown should give it its full 41 hours of power reserve but it winds far further than that. Am i missing something here? Is it supposed to just keep winding and winding. Anyway this is a fantastic recommendation for vfm and I'd certainly buy another if this one broke. Thank you for sharing this gem with us!

    It is a great value for sure but at 43mm, they could have left off the cyclops and put in a side or even a fake helium escape valve and look like the Sea-Dweller. I think they are close in size. The Sub homages should be 40mm as is the real deal. Thanks for the video. I am still deciding which watch to get at aliexpress. I need a dress watch, I only had one and it broke. I hardly ever wear one so a nicely priced Chinese special sounds good to me.

    Just got one of these yesterday, went for the green one too. Your review is perfect, as I walked through it while examining the watch. Interestingly, the crown has a couple of turns, not the half turn or so on yours. The clasp is a bit stiff with sharp - ish edges. Not tried the lume yet, but thats never going to be a heartbreaker for me. £68 for mine, gotta be honest, I'm pretty delighted with it. Hey Jody, your Top 10 Dive Watches $50 - $150 inspired me to buy one of these. I bought the black one at $75 last month from the Pagani Design Official Store. Then 3 days later, saw it on a flash sale from another Chinese retailer on eBay for $65.07. So I got a green one as well. At checkout, I got an additional $3.25 discount, so I only paid 61.82! So yeah, I ended up buying two within three days.
    I received both of them just before Halloween, and I will say they are amazing watches at either price I paid. I don't have the issue with the crown tube being short. I'm getting about 3 full turns on both. The lume is awful, but I expected that going in. My main issue is that the clasp is VERY difficult to open on both watches. I have to use a spudger at times to pry it open, because it feels like my fingernail is going to come off when I try to open it normally. I really hope it loosens up with time.
    Otherwise, I'm really happy with them.

    Have one of these in my collection, lovely watch but it does have some Qc issues ,my Lume pip is slightly off centre, and after doing my due diligence checks on the watch for loose screw etc I failed to notice that the clasp is fitted with a screw pin which later came undone .
    A great value watch but check it carefully when you get it

    I found out yesterday that lugs are actually 21mm, I wanted to put a nato strap and 20mm was to small while 22mm was too big. All in all I love it, even though I have to say that QC is not that great, mine came with some scratches on the bracelet, the bezel not perfectly aligned at 12 (but hey, is Seiko does it I won't complain if a Chinese special does it as well) and a crooked cyclops, but it works flawlessly, almost no time loss/gain during the days.

    I just got a similar Bliger sterile dial at 40mm, same type of clasp and bracelet. Wasn't expecting much as was only £50 + import fees. Pleasantly surprised. Keeps good time, finished better than I'd dare hoped for. The crown on mine screws in very nicely. The lume on my example has been restricted to the 12, 6 & 9 hands and pip but is ok, not the best but better than my Invicta's for longevity. For the money it's much better than expected. Other than size I think the biggest difference is the case on mine which is devoid of any curvature in the vertical plane, lug to lug. That said it is comfortable to wear. There are no marks concerning water resistance and I definitely wouldn't expect more than splash proof. The bezel action is also very good with a full 120 clicks, very little backlash and "easy" action. One area where money had obviously been saved was the packaging, arriving in a polystyrene box with loads of bubble wrap, no fancy box here! Still I'd rather they spent it on the watch not the box.

    Just got mine in the mail. I am very impressed so far. Very solid watch. My lume is interesting, haven't tested how long it lasts but the indices are blue and the hands are green.

    Got one today. I was lucky as the alignment is spot on. Mine has a 60 click bezel!! Nice!

    I got mine (green and gold) today Jan. 24 2020. Fantastic! I certainly agree that all the good things mentioned in the video are present. Other positives: The crown looks relatively bulky, however it is quite comfortable in practice. Negatives: I dislike the clasp, the watch needs the micro adjustments of a traditional clasp. The cyclops is fine (usable, well applied), but at the same time it wouldn't make a difference if it was gone. I adjusted the bracelet myself, the links look OK until you start examining them in detail... I would pay more for a better bracelet. Etc.
    Overall, an outstanding value. I compare it to my Tissot Seastar 1000 (bought around 2004), and honestly... the Pagani is equivalent, even better, in almost every way! Except one: the Tissot has a higher rating for water resistant.
    Every man should consider ordering one of these.

    Great review. I just ordered a bluesy for s&g. Thanks for sharing. Seiko movement, yes please.

    Thanks, Jody for the excellent review. Your channel is in fact my favorite show on earth--television, cable, Netflix, Apple TV, you name it. True delight.
    I think that your specific unit is defective, as both my Miyota and Seiko variants have a very good screw down crown action.

      Ah, thank God! Iffy purchase on screwdown crown threads can often mean it won't screw down at all somewhere down the line (has happened to me with a returned Bliger...), so this definitely got my attention as a potential deal breaker. Glad to hear it may have been a one-off nasty...

    Picked one of these up. I am impressed over all, however, the clasp latch on my brace was defective and it does not stay locked so it flips around. I had to put on a leather Nato strap and it looks great.

    I thought that this was a windup, and pun intended. That is a bargain. Great video as usual Sir 👍 Tam.
