I dont watch MrBeast. I am purely interested in this story because I am a fan of Ludwig, and I have always previously been very impressed with his level-headed takes on topics involving his (close) friends The first genuine Ludwig L I have been witness to. Guy was trying to find faults at every turn, and not even remotely willing to entertain the idea of MrBeast doing fraudulent and illegal stuff. Any time a contentious topic was brought up in the video Ludwig was quick to jump in, and give Jimmy the benefit, as well he should, but as soon as something irrefutably sketchy, illegal or fraudulent was mentioned, Ludwig either changed topic, made a joke, went silent, acted like it was hard to understand/presented in a convoluted way, so he could rephrase it to chat, and ask if he understood it correctly. "Arguing" with your twitch chat, where you can choose which messages to read aloud, "debunking" whatever a "random" chatter wrote, and taking it as if you have refuted the point of the video is even more disingenuous than a straw man. You are not even rephrasing the original argument so as to counter it, you are asking your chat filled with random people all trying to shout for attention to explain it to you, then acting all smart when they inevitably fuck that up is insane shit, and frankly, I had hoped you were better than this. I can empathize with your situation. I 100% believe you have been hounded to make a response of some kind, but in all honesty, you would have done better just not engaging with this. You inevitably will seem defensive if you at any point take Jimmy's side, but your presentation in this stream and subsequent VOD is absolutely worse than if you had just stayed silent, or put out a short "PR-statement" about not engaging with this. It obviously sucks that you should even have to explain or give "your side", of something that has largely nothing to do with you, but when you do choose to engage with it, you have to be more objective than you were here.

If the evidence presented seems believable and the person being accused of it has been silent and IS not addressing any of the allegations, there is nothing else that people can do - but to assume that they are guilty. Innocent until proven guilty only works in a court of law. In the court of public opinion you are automatically guilty until the accused provides evidence that says otherwise. The truest sense of the internet is the fact that it's very rare that we get double standards, especially whenever it comes down to drama/controversy. I can only guess the reason why, but I assume it was because in this perticular instance, it wasn't Mr Beast who "did the wrong thing". Ludwig still never said that the illegal lotteries were bad in the 3 hours and 30 minutes that I managed to get through. Ludwig very clearly avoided everything said in the video. I think this is because he didn't want to have an opinion live on stream. So we will see what his opinion is later, if he brings it up again.

This was hard to watch, the problem isnt the pausing is that he used everything at an excuse to skip points made by dogpack like the video would be talking about a serious accusation and Ludwig would be ignoring to respond to a random person in chat, and this happened many times, i saw Ludwig reactions before and he never did this or at least never did this has much has this time. Honestly man, I don’t blame Ludwig. I know what it sounds like but hear me out. I know he was acting dumb here, but MrBeast is one of Ludwigs closest friends. So let’s just put this in a different perspective. If your best friend was exposed for doing downright awful stuff, no matter how much evidence is thrown against them, you’d try to defend them for as long as possible and cling to the last bit of hope that they haven’t done anything wrong. After his little interview, I will absolutely believe nothing he says anymore, everything is just accusation without proof. The only issue with Mr Beast from that vid is the legality of the sweepstakes.
The way I see it, and this is probably the best explanation for Ludwig, is that he was trying to get a definitive answer to a basic question. But because dogpack was being so dodgy (because of legal reasons of course) Ludwig felt as though he couldn’t trust the rest of the allegations. Like if dogpack couldn’t answer an easy question, then it’s harder to trust him on the rest of the things he said because he isn’t being definitive on the yacht. I know dogpack didn’t want to break his nda and I know Ludwig was acting very weird. I’m just trying to give Ludwig the benefit of the doubt
In all honesty though, Ludwig was trying really hard to nitpick that Yacht thing. Dawson said it was hyperbole, but somehow that did not click on Ludwig.
@@chanceroberson7517 The problem I have with this explanation is his fixation on the yacht, where he refused to understand that the main point was the missing people in the tent and the yacht was just a luxurious option where they could be instead, to mock their dishonesty. Not just that, he made it a reason why he can't trust his words, simply because "yacht or boat" is too vague for him of an answere and he needs definite proof of something they could be at, when the proof is already in the video of MrBeast that shows two empty beds and clothing in the next morning, they didn't have previously. Paired with all the other anchor points he tried to fixate on it became really uncomfortable to listen to him ignoring the main statements.

That is literally THE point behind the accusation, that Dogpack says basically verbatim in his own video. And his response to ludwig asking that is "you're controlled opposition". Not to mention Dogpack did no favours for himself by actively trolling Lud (he admitted he did in other comments) and accusing ludwig of being bad faith and actively trying to get him to break his NDA by calling him controlled opposition at every chance he got. Nothing about Dogpacks behaviour even slightly suggested "I am a trustworthy person that you can believe" All he would have had to have done was say "I cant answer specific questions like that because of my NDA, but I can talk about ___, or these other things that I talk about later in the video." but instead he just goes "nah you're out to get me, you should know by the context clues of my deadpan monotone voice what is and isn't acceptable to ask." The dude joked about being paranoid for his video into, but he really does come off as someone who has mild paranoia.

The reason Macs episode would be scripted is the same reason you said these drama RUclipsrs do multiple parts of the series more views. They make him lose multiple times but since he's a charismatic guy Jimmy knows people will come back and root for him.

I feel the same. He was definitely joking around about all the video topics in a way that made a bunch of the stuff he said feel less credible when it wasn't. But it is also a stream meant for entertainment so whatever.

Obviously he’s trying to insinuate that he knows something that nobody else does about the ocean survival video, but it’s really hard to believe that without good evidence.
As much as I do think dogpack’s video has flaws, ultimately I don’t feel like his points should be discarded. Whether what Mr. Beast is doing is any different to corporations, or whether it’s 100% illegal or not, doesn’t mean that predatory marketing tactics towards kids isn’t a problem. And what’s weird about in the case of influencers and creators is the role of the image of the central figurehead. Corporations are generally understood to be profit driven, but when your image of a business is instead likeable, friendly, and generous person, people can be a lot more trusting and susceptible to manipulation. So the point of the video, at least to me, doesn’t feel like it’s meant to be that Mr. Beast is a criminal or a horrible person, but that the image of him that people built up should be treated critically and as a part of his business. “Mr. Beast” as he appears in content should be understood as a character made for marketing, Jimmy being someone ultimately you know nothing about. or something idk

A person who won’t agree that Jimmy should be labelled as horrible-maybe because they know him, maybe because they see all these practices as normal-should still be able to agree that the actions of misleading and manipulating children is bad. If the discussion is “is Jimmy a horrible person”, it becomes an endless divisive debate where people can make excuses and comparisons. Instead, focusing on the individual actions and practices, as well encouraging the demystification of content creators, kinda seems more productive. TLDR Just categorizing someone as “bad” isn’t constructive, and also will make people (including Jimmy) feel that legitimate criticism is just hate or a hate campaign.

I mean, he doesn't really have an obligation to talk about what he doesn't want to talk about, and he definitely is going to be biased towards his friends so he gives his own opinion. Its not good, but I wouldn't say that makes him a bad person. This is the first video of Ludwig that I watched, which was just too hard to watch. Dogpack's video had MANY flaws, and he is obviously weird as well, but he also talked about some major points worth addressing. It was so obvious that Ludwig dodged all the major points by yapping about a small detail or getting "distracted" by chat. I was expecting a biased video where you talk about your experiences, like you said at the beginning. But this wasn't biased, you wanted to take the focus away from MrBeast. You just shouldn't have talked about it.
People would’ve begged for it no matter what. There is no good way to go about it. He either would’ve been accused of not reacting, or accused of not reacting well enough. Lets be clear, Ludwig was asking questions that DogPack404 said he couldn't answer, NDA means non disclosure agreement right, if he can't answer the question for the NDA, it means it is true, so all Ludwig had to do was stop for a second or 5 seconds and digest that or at least think and go from there in the questions he asked DogPack, instead he did bring up the shrooms and got frustrated at DogPack for not answering him the way he wanted. And you don't have to think, Lud didn't flat out say to DogPack you're on shrooms, you can watch it back at this time stamp of the stream and see he first asked "were you on Shrooms?" 1:14:01 and after DogPack said no not really, Lud overreacts to that answer, (but before this question came up from the other questions Ludwig asked with his employment/NDA DogPack uses the phrase not really as well if you pay attention, so its usage here isn't new) slightly laughing and say no you don't get away with that one for his reply to the question asking what does that mean at 1:14:12 Lud goes on to say how you're either on them or not on them and I've never not really been on shrooms. 1:14:17 DogPack reiterates the first word he replied to the questions after saying truthfully, no , not on shrooms, but goes on to explain that he was pretending to be schizophrenic like in that scene where I am hiding under the bed and then they took that scene and ran with it. Now this seems believable, in previous questions we can see DogPack answers with his answer and says not really at the end like a habit or common verbiage in his speech, I know for me I say yeah a lot instead of yes and say okay after anything like yes okay or no okay. So DogPack replying with no not really isn't weird especially when after he goes on to explain the reason he said not really because he is already aware about Chucky accusing him of being on shrooms and the chat saying he is on shrooms after just saying Hi to Lud (you can see it on screen where Lud has his face). 1:14:30 Ludwig asks a leading question So you haven't done shrooms? to which DogPack does not reply to, with good reason, if Ludwig asked so you hadn't done shrooms while at work/for MrBeast, DogPack can answer as he did before no I didn't, but because Ludwig does not specify a time or a place as to not having done Shrooms, it puts DogPack at risk of being accused of being on Shrooms while working under Mr.Beast company. How? If DogPack said no I have done shrooms before but not while working, if this were to be taken to court and used in a court room, Mr Beast Company Plaintiff would argue/suggest that DogPack could have done shrooms before coming to work or working which could influence his behavior and try to discredit him. If he told Ludwig no to that question and that he had never done shrooms it poses the potential of him being called a liar by Mr Beast Company Plaintiff for when they show their evidence of him "being on shrooms" at work for acting schizophrenic/erratic on purpose and remember DogPack said "like in that scene where I am hiding under the bed and then they took that scene and ran with it" this suggests that the company at one point were filming him supposedly for a video and planned to make his person/character someone on shrooms for "comedy" and his personality on the channel. So DogPack knows that footage they have can be used against him, and the fact that we never see DogPack or that footage in a video leads me to speculate that DogPack may not have wanted to be filmed or involved since he mostly did editing prior, but the company has brought in editors before to become the crew/cast in videos or show them from time to time for behind the scenes.
So yeah at this point its clear what Ludwig's intention is and DogPack calls it out point blank, and still hasn't yelled either but says at 1:15:09 You are controlled opposition, which yeah Ludwig has been in the questions he is choosing to ask DogPack without even finishing the video yet, 1:15:12 to which Ludwig asks DogPack what does that mean, not exactly what is Controlled opposition, and to give the benefit of the doubt maybe Lud doesn't know and he chose his words poorly but it seems he means more why DogPack is saying he is controlled opposition not what it is, so at 1:15:15 DogPack answers it means you're trying to get me to reveal confidential information to break my NDA, which is correct!!! Based on Lud's question with the shrooms and then how he asked about the yacht it would risk DogPack breaking his NDA. I don't care much about 80% of the video DogPack made but there's some parts that are a clear evidence of Mr Best being a sleaze ball. Pretty much anything where you're buying something and not getting what you bought is incredibly scummy and I feel like Ludwig just glossed over that. Barely talked about the fake autographs, and the moon pictures, my guy was literally reading the Japanese text ignoring the video. Also, I get that this is his reaction video and chat was being annoying but if he's pausing every 5 seconds to tell a story for 30 seconds, did he really pay attention to what the video was talking about?
This is so sad. A journalism major with a great news/drama channel where he pays attention to details and gives fair opinions turns into this when Mr Beast is involved. Unfortunately the big guys with the money will always win even when fair points are brought up.

I love Ludwig's content (main channel, mogul mail, the yard), but you can definitely tell he did this stream because he felt like he HAD to, not because he WANTED to. Ludwig is a smart guy, since he was already doing a stream he did not want to do, he chose to do it his way where he didn't really take the video seriously WHICH I RESPECT because his viewers aren't entitled to tell Ludwig how to run his stream. Ludwig had nothing to win if he had chosen to take the video seriously, he could have ended up burning the MrBeast bridge if he had commented on the video's biggest points in agreement and that's why he was always looking at chat looking for any chance to pause the video and talk about something else.

The first genuine Ludwig L I have been witness to. Guy was trying to find faults at every turn, and not even remotely willing to entertain the idea of MrBeast doing fraudulent and illegal stuff. Any time a contentious topic was brought up in the video Ludwig was quick to jump in, and give Jimmy the benefit, as well he should, but as soon as something irrefutably sketchy, illegal or fraudulent was mentioned, Ludwig either changed topic, made a joke, went silent, acted like it was hard to understand/presented in a convoluted way, so he could rephrase it to chat, and ask if he understood it correctly. "Arguing" with your twitch chat, where you can choose which messages to read aloud, "debunking" whatever a "random" chatter wrote, and taking it as if you have refuted the point of the video is even more disingenuous than a straw man. You are not even rephrasing the original argument so as to counter it, you are asking your chat filled with random people all trying to shout for attention to explain it to you, then acting all smart when they inevitably fuck that up is insane shit, and frankly, I had hoped you were better than this.
I can empathize with your situation. I 100% believe you have been hounded to make a response of some kind, but in all honesty, you would have done better just not engaging with this. You inevitably will seem defensive if you at any point take Jimmy's side, but your presentation in this stream and subsequent VOD is absolutely worse than if you had just stayed silent, or put out a short "PR-statement" about not engaging with this. It obviously sucks that you should even have to explain or give "your side", of something that has largely nothing to do with you, but when you do choose to engage with it, you have to be more objective than you were here.

I'm a ludbud and I love lud and genuinely think he's a good person, but I've never seen a clearer example of him not even fence sitting, but just avoiding the topic all together, trying so hard not to get on mrbeast's bad side, he did say he was biased, and I think if this controversy kept going and he hadn't just conveniently quit mogul mail drama videos he would've made a video condemming it, but man is this hard to watch still, I've seen him react to hundreds of videos at this point and he always yaps, but never to this degree, or about things that have nothing to do with the video and while interrupting it constantly, he literally speaks over the video while it's playing in the same way he mocked at the start of the vod, he never adressed half the shit mentioned, and immediately moved on to charlie's video as soon as it was over, I know he's been getting a lot of unreasonable hate and that's why he quit the drama commentary and I don't blame him or expect him to cover anything, but this isn't unnecesary hate, he's genuinely just not acknowledging so many things mentioned in the video, and if he hadn't reacted to it (because he's tired of the drama like he said) I'd be perfectly fine with that, it's healthier for him and he has every right to, but reacting to the video and just brushing it off like this feels very disingenuous.

If the evidence presented seems believable and the person being accused of it has been silent and IS not addressing any of the allegations, there is nothing else that people can do - but to assume that they are guilty. Innocent until proven guilty only works in a court of law. In the court of public opinion you are automatically guilty until the accused provides evidence that says otherwise.
The truest sense of the internet is the fact that it's very rare that we get double standards, especially whenever it comes down to drama/controversy. If Dr Disrespect was treated the same way, Mr Beast should get the very same treatment as well. I can only guess the reason why, but I assume it was because in this perticular instance, it wasn't Mr Beast who "did the wrong thing". Ludwig still never said that the illegal lotteries were bad in the 3 hours and 30 minutes that I managed to get through. Ludwig very clearly avoided everything said in the video. I think this is because he didn't want to have an opinion live on stream. So we will see what his opinion is later, if he brings it up again.

Some of y'all are dumb as hell. DogPack wasn't just trolling. I believe the reason why DogPack kept repeating the same things and talking about the NDA while talking about the yacht is basically him saying: "I know they were on a yacht, I worked on this video, I have insider information, I just can't say any of it because of the NDA, that's why I only use publicly available information then let you fill in the blanks." That's why he keeps talking about controlled opposition: "You want me to talk about stuff that I can't talk about". Why would he mention controlled opposition if he DIDN'T have any insider information on the yacht thing? Doesn't make sense. Maybe he doesn't have all of the proof, but he obviously wouldn't talk so much about these topics if it was only speculation, because he has insider information. I believe he would only choose to talk about topics he is certain of. That's why he talks so much about "context clues". The "context clues" are: he knows the facts but he's presenting them as "speculation", he just can't say it for legal reasons.

The way I see it, and this is probably the best explanation for Ludwig, is that he was trying to get a definitive answer to a basic question. But because dogpack was being so dodgy (because of legal reasons of course) Ludwig felt as though he couldn’t trust the rest of the allegations. Like if dogpack couldn’t answer an easy question, then it’s harder to trust him on the rest of the things he said because he isn’t being definitive on the yacht. I know dogpack didn’t want to break his nda and I know Ludwig was acting very weird. I’m just trying to give Ludwig the benefit of the doubt
In all honesty though, Ludwig was trying really hard to nitpick that Yacht thing. Dawson said it was hyperbole, but somehow that did not click on Ludwig.
@@chanceroberson7517 The problem I have with this explanation is his fixation on the yacht, where he refused to understand that the main point was the missing people in the tent and the yacht was just a luxurious option where they could be instead, to mock their dishonesty. Not just that, he made it a reason why he can't trust his words, simply because "yacht or boat" is too vague for him of an answere and he needs definite proof of something they could be at, when the proof is already in the video of MrBeast that shows two empty beds and clothing in the next morning, they didn't have previously. Paired with all the other anchor points he tried to fixate on it became really uncomfortable to listen to him ignoring the main statements.

That is literally THE point behind the accusation, that Dogpack says basically verbatim in his own video. And his response to ludwig asking that is "you're controlled opposition".
Not to mention Dogpack did no favours for himself by actively trolling Lud (he admitted he did in other comments) and accusing ludwig of being bad faith and actively trying to get him to break his NDA by calling him controlled opposition at every chance he got. Nothing about Dogpacks behaviour even slightly suggested "I am a trustworthy person that you can believe"

As much as I do think dogpack’s video has flaws, ultimately I don’t feel like his points should be discarded. Whether what Mr. Beast is doing is any different to corporations, or whether it’s 100% illegal or not, doesn’t mean that predatory marketing tactics towards kids isn’t a problem.
And what’s weird about in the case of influencers and creators is the role of the image of the central figurehead. Corporations are generally understood to be profit driven, but when your image of a business is instead likeable, friendly, and generous person, people can be a lot more trusting and susceptible to manipulation. So the point of the video, at least to me, doesn’t feel like it’s meant to be that Mr. Beast is a criminal or a horrible person, but that the image of him that people built up should be treated critically and as a part of his business. “Mr. Beast” as he appears in content should be understood as a character made for marketing, Jimmy being someone ultimately you know nothing about.

A person who won’t agree that Jimmy should be labelled as horrible-maybe because they know him, maybe because they see all these practices as normal-should still be able to agree that the actions of misleading and manipulating children is bad. If the discussion is “is Jimmy a horrible person”, it becomes an endless divisive debate where people can make excuses and comparisons. Instead, focusing on the individual actions and practices, as well encouraging the demystification of content creators, kinda seems more productive.
TLDR Just categorizing someone as “bad” isn’t constructive, and also will make people (including Jimmy) feel that legitimate criticism is just hate or a hate campaign.

This is the first video of Ludwig that I watched, which was just too hard to watch. Dogpack's video had MANY flaws, and he is obviously weird as well, but he also talked about some major points worth addressing. It was so obvious that Ludwig dodged all the major points by yapping about a small detail or getting "distracted" by chat. I was expecting a biased video where you talk about your experiences, like you said at the beginning. But this wasn't biased, you wanted to take the focus away from MrBeast. You just shouldn't have talked about it.

Lets be clear, Ludwig was asking questions that DogPack404 said he couldn't answer, NDA means non disclosure agreement right, if he can't answer the question for the NDA, it means it is true, so all Ludwig had to do was stop for a second or 5 seconds and digest that or at least think and go from there in the questions he asked DogPack, instead he did bring up the shrooms and got frustrated at DogPack for not answering him the way he wanted. And you don't have to think, Lud didn't flat out say to DogPack you're on shrooms, you can watch it back at this time stamp of the stream and see he first asked "were you on Shrooms?" 1:14:01 and after DogPack said no not really, Lud overreacts to that answer, (but before this question came up from the other questions Ludwig asked with his employment/NDA DogPack uses the phrase not really as well if you pay attention, so its usage here isn't new) slightly laughing and say no you don't get away with that one for his reply to the question asking what does that mean at 1:14:12 Lud goes on to say how you're either on them or not on them and I've never not really been on shrooms. 1:14:17 DogPack reiterates the first word he replied to the questions after saying truthfully, no , not on shrooms, but goes on to explain that he was pretending to be schizophrenic like in that scene where I am hiding under the bed and then they took that scene and ran with it. Now this seems believable, in previous questions we can see DogPack answers with his answer and says not really at the end like a habit or common verbiage in his speech, I know for me I say yeah a lot instead of yes and say okay after anything like yes okay or no okay. So DogPack replying with no not really isn't weird especially when after he goes on to explain the reason he said not really because he is already aware about Chucky accusing him of being on shrooms and the chat saying he is on shrooms after just saying Hi to Lud (you can see it on screen where Lud has his face). 1:14:30 Ludwig asks a leading question So you haven't done shrooms? to which DogPack does not reply to, with good reason, if Ludwig asked so you hadn't done shrooms while at work/for MrBeast, DogPack can answer as he did before no I didn't, but because Ludwig does not specify a time or a place as to not having done Shrooms, it puts DogPack at risk of being accused of being on Shrooms while working under Mr.Beast company. How? If DogPack said no I have done shrooms before but not while working, if this were to be taken to court and used in a court room, Mr Beast Company Plaintiff would argue/suggest that DogPack could have done shrooms before coming to work or working which could influence his behavior and try to discredit him. If he told Ludwig no to that question and that he had never done shrooms it poses the potential of him being called a liar by Mr Beast Company Plaintiff for when they show their evidence of him "being on shrooms" at work for acting schizophrenic/erratic on purpose and remember DogPack said "like in that scene where I am hiding under the bed and then they took that scene and ran with it" this suggests that the company at one point were filming him supposedly for a video and planned to make his person/character someone on shrooms for "comedy" and his personality on the channel. So DogPack knows that footage they have can be used against him, and the fact that we never see DogPack or that footage in a video leads me to speculate that DogPack may not have wanted to be filmed or involved since he mostly did editing prior, but the company has brought in editors before to become the crew/cast in videos or show them from time to time for behind the scenes.
So yeah at this point its clear what Ludwig's intention is and DogPack calls it out point blank, and still hasn't yelled either but says at 1:15:09 You are controlled opposition, which yeah Ludwig has been in the questions he is choosing to ask DogPack without even finishing the video yet, 1:15:12 to which Ludwig asks DogPack what does that mean, not exactly what is Controlled opposition, and to give the benefit of the doubt maybe Lud doesn't know and he chose his words poorly but it seems he means more why DogPack is saying he is controlled opposition not what it is, so at 1:15:15 DogPack answers it means you're trying to get me to reveal confidential information to break my NDA, which is correct!!! Based on Lud's question with the shrooms and then how he asked about the yacht it would risk DogPack breaking his NDA. (NO Ludwig cause that would count as being about the videos he worked on and break his NDA!! What is the point of asking about videos he didn't work on unless they are based on his video that Lud has still not finished, there is no point it would just risk DogPack breaking NDA and ignore what DogPack is allowed to talk about which is the video and contents within it that he posted) Like Lud was feigning for ignorant to ask that after what DogPack told him.

By this point I feel tired breaking this down because its painfully obvious but then Lud goes on to ask if its context clues in the video or convo, dog pack says both, DogPack seems to know Lud cause he says your a theater kid right so you should be able to tell whether I'm joking, serious, etc right, Ludwig denies being a theater kid, one play apparently doesn't count like Lud, you did Theater for one play, you were a kid, therefore its okay to be called theater kid, just not hardcore or anything serious DogPack is saying you are smarter than you are acting in this conversation right now, its his way of nicely confronting you without flat out saying you are acting ignorant right now as I have in the comment. THEN I KID YOU NOT LUDWIG at 1:16:56 does a splfoo sound and himself asks if DogPack is calling him autistic, putting words in DogPack's mouth that he didn't say. I love Ludwig's content (main channel, mogul mail, the yard), but you can definitely tell he did this stream because he felt like he HAD to, not because he WANTED to. Ludwig is a smart guy, since he was already doing a stream he did not want to do, he chose to do it his way where he didn't really take the video seriously WHICH I RESPECT because his viewers aren't entitled to tell Ludwig how to run his stream. Ludwig had nothing to win if he had chosen to take the video seriously, he could have ended up burning the MrBeast bridge if he had commented on the video's biggest points in agreement and that's why he was always looking at chat looking for any chance to pause the video and talk about something else.
