  • Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, customer says he's replaced the ABS sensor but the lights are still on, can you clear the fault codes? well, I could if the fault was fixed and not bodged up. I couldn't believe what I found!

    I can't believe someone would send a car back on the road like that it was not a mechanic that had worked on it before but there you go all good now ☺️ well done you guys

      It's not the first time I've come accross shoddy work like this, I doubt it'll be the last either.

    People who don’t know what they’re doing shouldn’t be touching vehicles, simple as. Just cost them self more money instead of just getting it done properly in the first place. Schoolboys. Nice work mate. 👍🏻

      My thoughts exactly. It's cost that bloke two wheel bearings and a sensor that he probably didn't need and all because it wasn't diagnosed and fixed properly the first time.

    Great video, I always like to see things being done right. I was here to see a rear wheel sensor bracket as mine seems to have disappeared with corrosion , I wondered if its its part of the rear hub. I`ve got all the lights on too as the sensor is out ( no way to secure it). What do I do ?

    • @pistonbroke
      @pistonbroke  Месяц назад

      It's a common thing for the clip to rust off. You need to replace the complete hub as it all comes as one.

    Hello, the mechanic has re-pressed the left rear bar joint , the discs, brakes, dampers on both sides. After a few weeks, the code P1773 appeared. Is it possible that the sensors are not properly plugged? He mentions that he doesn’t know about it in this category, so I have doubts that he could make a mistake.

    Have the same issiue on my car, a bloke put the wheel bearing in the wrong way, I fixed the bearing, put a new one in.. Also I replaced the abs sensor since the abs error in the car wasnt going away.. The abs fault isnt going awai :l my Delphi doesnt even recocnise an abs fault code anyway.. got any tips ?
    Those ball joint covers are glued, just put some putty on it, it will last a bit longer.
    I dont even warm the bearing to pull them off, just using a puller wich works fine for me. good video tho

    Great video. I have a question I have a 2009 shogun which has an intermitting fault with the ASC with a warning light on the dash however when we connect a scanner to get live data all values read zero expect the FR which reads a value of 312.3 and when the car does move they still read zero surely all 3 sensors canny be gubbed, any ideas what the issue could be would.TIA

    • @pistonbroke
      @pistonbroke  2 года назад +1

      I doubt you have 3 knckered sensors but you never know. Have you tried a different scanner? What fault code have you got? Check to make sure the rolling radius of all the tyres are the same. I have seen sidewall markings of two different makes of tyres say they are the same size but they are physically different sizes, and not by a small amount either!

    • @gordonbarclay6106

      @@pistonbroke Will try a different scanner next week when back at work. All the tyres are same make and size..Thing is when the light comes on the dash I just stop wait about a minute re-start and away we go again for a while, car does go into limp mode when light comes on.

    Poor effort with the cutting torch , pretty easy to burn off the inner race without damaging the hub face

    It's not fun to be handed a job after "the blue and white striped apron brigade" have had their way with it. Labour rate needs to be double just because the owner has been so stupid...

      No it's not that nice but I always start the diagnosis from scratch. No point carrying on from where the last person left it as 9 times out of 10 they were wrong.

    animals on a quality vehicle aswell some real butchery I like your thinking batman quality over speed every time and I can see your thinking i think on the abs sensor we used to get the police l200 with report of new abs sensor fitted but fault still persists even the Mitsubishi value part didn't seem to work correctly put the original part number ones on and they work just fine Mitsubishi need quality parts

      It was a value sensor, he bought it from us two days before he brought the car in. At first he phoned and said the new sensor was faulty and wanted to return it, we suggested he brought the car in for us to check.
