I'm going into Residential Care soon and will take for my room 2 comfy armchairs, a sideboard/cupboard, to store mugs/plates/cutlery/oddments maybe shelving for some favourite books, tv/video recorder, small fridge and microwave, some pictures, lamps, cushions and plants, but I will not over-clutter.
I might ask if I can decorate the room, change curtains, at my expense. The room will be my home.
We struggling with it. So much to figure out.
I couldn’t bear to part with my little fur baby, my brown Havanese boy… Teddy! Also, the photos before smart phones after I purged all my material photos. Then books that I love! The rest I can donate but not easily.
Not all of us seniors have a caregiver
