Alcohol is also forbidden in Islam, so there goes Roman wine drinking traditions. Also pork is forbidden, the reason Christianity allowed the consumption of pork was because there was no way they would have otherwise convinced the majority of Romans who were fond of pork to have converted. These are just a few of differences. They did pick a few things from the Romans but to say they were Rome is lying to oneself. And I consider the same of the Germanic cultures that also claimed to be the successors of Rome. They weren’t Roman either.
