Im about to give em another shot, but I've never done well with traps. And with ffs I don't fish shallow much. Oh Ok, grass carp are bad here so we don't have much grass..You slayed em!
I've tried them deep with ffs and haven't had a single follow, now hair jigs and flutter spoons are my go-to. I don't recall having much luck in ponds either and people swear by ripping and yo yoing
@@KissmyBasss they are one of those lures where fish won't want anything to do with them most days ... but when the conditions are right they are lights out. Fall and spring upper 50s into the 60s , wind blowing into staging areas ... that's when they shine !!!
Ok, thanks for the tip, my girl likes to throw them and I keep hoping she'll find the pattern. So, hair jigs are the same way, on or off but without ffs I probably wouldn't throw them either.

They are great in weeds and situations with wind and shallow bass , they are also great on deep structure when you hit them on the bottom .
