Flying RV... that's exactly what I want! Can't believe after all my time looking at different amphibious airplanes I'm only recently finding the SeaBear! Was just comparing L-65 specs to the Gweduck but don't think it's apples to apples unless comparing the 6 seat SeaBear. Mega awesome plane! WANT!!!

@rowdycowboy85 The gweduck has better climb rate, payload capacity(however, if assuming both contain the max amount of passengers, then they would be around the same, and since the gweduck needs more fuel to travel the same distance, it would mean even lesser payload capacity.), more passengers and higher service ceiling. While the l-65 has better range(however, the gweduck has an option to increase range), payload capacity( in some specific circumstances, example stated above)shorter take off and landing distance in both land and water, less fuel to travel the same distance and lower stall speed. The l-65 does have the added bonus of having two rudders(not sure if it affects performance in good or bad way, it looks cool though.). It says on the website that the l-65 can do a go around with one engine inoperative, not sure if it can fly with one inoperative. However, the gweduck can fly with on engine inoperative. One thing they have in common is the ability to land in many types of terrain, especially useful if you live or plan to fly in areas with those kind of terrain. Both likely have water rudders. I would say first Check your Budget, then see what your prioritise are when deciding a plane. That will help you make a choice. Hope this helps(might add more later)! Edit: price for the l-65(or maybe the l-44 model, not sure) is 230k for kit, and 360k for fully assembled. I think the gweduck is only in kit form, and it costs 350k(both figures in usd).

Neither does the Searey, but it works just fine and the advantage is that there is no Vle/Vlo speed or difference in handling with gear up or down.
