Disney should buy the Motels and property and rent to their employees. The rent shouldn't be more then $750 a month !!!. Seems like big Corporations don't really care about their employees well being !!!.
This is happening to people all over the country. Why are Disney employees special? Lots of people get paid less than 15 an hour. Rent and expenses are going up for everyone. Here in lies the dilemma, those who need the service workers to clean, cook, lawncare etc., won't want the very service workers that they need living in close proximity to their neighborhoods/homes. They complain that multi-family homes are going to bring crime, noise and excess traffic to disrupt their live style. Then get ready to cut your own grass.

Disney has been putting subliminal messages in Their children's movies for many years. What does that tell you of their company and management, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what they're about.
Do I feel sorry for that first family living in a motel, and should Disney pay them better? Yes. But I think their love of Disney and all its "magic" is *precisely* why they are taken advantage of! California minimum wage is 15 which republicans are against. Florida min is 10 at the moment. So that lady is making more than minimum wage in Florida. She’s making 15. Her husband is making. 18 an hr. Florida 2 bed room is about 1,200 while California 2 bed is 1,900. Seems like they could afford it Maybe they spend too much on other things

Geez. Even Walt Disney himself at least was known for treating his employees better than most companies during his time. Even though towards the end. He kind of went crazy and wanted to build Epcot as a City than was it became after he passed away. The city was crazy. Basically, a small town that Disney Company owned and controlled. Even at that time. People within the company were against it but went along with Walt until...yep his death. To now fast forwarding several decades after Walt Disney has died. Disney company has been getting too big for its own good and treating its very employees as slave labor in some regards. To now fast forward from this report. Disney has lost or is going to lose its special status with all the tax breaks. Though to enforce such measures will take little over a year or 6 months. And anyone trying to claim that Florida is interfering with a Company. I have to remind you. Disney has INTERFERED WITH THE GOVERNMENT FOR DECADES. Even going so far as to demand the city to send the police, under Disney control, all to take care of protesters. Though their behavior has finally caught up to them and they need a smack down. Their biggest blunder. Supporting the wrong group who seem to want to groom children.
They are choosing to continue working for them . . . They are grown making their choices . . I'm very concerned about this child trafficking pedophile ring where are the children ? Save the children
Disney should pay all their character actors at least $50-60 an hour! That’s how much I make as a piano teacher, so I’d imagine every Disney character actor - who goes through extensive, brutal, dedicated, difficult training, mentally and physically, to prepare for their select Disney roles - would make even more! Disney expects the actor to literally BECOME the character and morph into them. Plus they have to keep on a happy, eager face all day/night and show lots of affection towards the guests, even if they are completely burned out on the inside. This, to me, is a truly honorable and commendable career for them to have. Yes, it’s a true career for the actors; not simply a job. The chances of an applicant being chosen as a Disney princess or other character is extremely rare. So considering all those tedious and exhaustive parts of their work, I believe the princesses/villains/characters deserve AT LEAST $50 an hour. I’d pay them even more if it was up to me, because they truly make a big impact on the lives of children and keep their imagination and dreams alive. *Disney has a net worth of 168 BILLION as of June, 2023. They’re more than capable of giving ALL their employees a generous, well-deserved salary!*

I do agree that Disney should be paying people more, but in northern Ca you can work as an EVS housekeeping aide in Kaiser making 25$ per hour and Kaiser Southern Ca is a bit less but still more than 15$ per hour.
The thing is that. Disney workers get their hours & schedule based on seniority. If your low seniority... so that means if the people that are higher than you.. that been their longer are the ones who are gonna get the hours. Full time takes at least 1 year to get. Not easy. Gotta be clean on your record. No tardies, no callouts & no warnings. If you get a verbal... It takes 6 months to clear out from your record. A written is 1 full year. On the other hand... can u imagine being so rich, on demand you can designate 80 acres for affordable housing options... on the other hand... they could easily buy out the shit motels and renovate them within a month or two for their employees.
I know about Walmart employees living in their car. Capitalist country high crime and starvation wages. Corporate America are too greedy, we deserve better. Support a nation wide strike.
Man, I’m glad I decided to not work for Disney after learning your basic outlook is working in the parks and not much else.
Disney needs more housing that can waive 1st and last months rent to make it more accessible.
Disney should buy the Motels and property and rent to their employees. The rent shouldn't be more then $750 a month !!!. Seems like big Corporations don't really care about their employees well being !!!.
You want Disney to offer more value for money to consumers. Don’t go. And don’t spend money on products they sell. It’s that simple.
This is happening to people all over the country. Why are Disney employees special? Lots of people get paid less than 15 an hour. Rent and expenses are going up for everyone. I live in a small town in Michigan and my rent was just increased $100 per month. I’m definitely paying more for all of my utilities. And of course I’m paying more for gas and groceries, etc.

These people don’t sound like the smartest people tbh. There’s a lot of people around the country working harder and not making anywhere CLOSE to $15 an hour! And the woman with her family and dogs and cat in that apartment look WELL FED🙄 seems like a case of just continuous poor choices, not that I’m a Disney fan but it it what it is
They better correct this problem, before you start getting encampment, and Disney will look like San Francisco.
There are multiple of places in Florida that have way worse homeless problems than San Francisco.
Lol.. Yeah, that's NEVER gonna happen
Thanks, Brian, this is heartbreaking.
Nope. This is not heartbreaking at all. Not gonna feel sorry for people making stupid life choices.

Disney has been putting subliminal messages in Their children's movies for many years. What does that tell you of their company and management, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what they're about.
That rent is the same in Dallas, Tx

Do I feel sorry for that first family living in a motel, and should Disney pay them better? Yes. But I think their love of Disney and all its "magic" is *precisely* why they are taken advantage of! Different industry, but you see the same thing with developers at gaming companies. Who works there? The diehard gamers who grew up playing the games they later dreamed of having a hand in building. Hate to say it, but people have to stop allowing companies to pay them in childhood dreams; only then will they receive their FULL compensation in DOLLARS!
California minimum wage is 15 which republicans are against. Florida min is 10 at the moment. So that lady is making more than minimum wage in Florida. She’s making 15. Her husband is making. 18 an hr. Florida 2 bed room is about 1,200 while California 2 bed is 1,900. Seems like they could afford it
Maybe they spend too much on other things
As much as it costs per person to visit the parks they could pay much better
Ive seen so many videos of these workers who work there and complain about the cost. I really wish they would show their bank statements to see just how much they actually spend their money on visiting and going to the theme park alot. I bet you will be surprised on how much they actually spend and wonder why they dont have enough.
This amazes me for a woke company that is so concerned with people's rights. However it is just for the loudmouth woke liberals, not the hard-working employee. Way to go Disney!!!!
Corporate America won the support from Bible thumping peasants with propaganda. In order to win over liberals they have to do the PC stuff. Now they have everyone’s support and are in full own rape the working class mode.
Disney will take at least 5 years to build that 1300 units.

Stop buying their products if they treat you like animals. If you feel that way.

The thing is that. Disney workers get their hours & schedule based on seniority.
