Schindler Floor 1 Restaurants Access Elevator @ Fairmont Dubai*****, Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE

The two restaurants on the first floor of Fairmont Dubai (which consisted of the French restaurant Bagatelle and the Greek restaurant OPA at the time of visit) could be accessed by a spiral staircase next to the Cascades restaurant in the atrium or an adjacent dedicated glass elevator featured in this video, but not by the main guest elevators, perhaps in order to avoid the guest elevators from becoming crowded. The elevator was quite similar to the scenic cars of the high-rise elevator banks serving the hotel, offices, and residences, except that it was a direct-acting hydraulic unit and had a differently shaped cab; its wider doorways meant that two-speed doors instead of single-speed ones had been used. It had push buttons instead of touch-sensitive ones on the hall stations at both landings, but had touch-sensitive buttons like the other elevators within the building on the car operating panel. With the exception of slightly rough starts it seemed to be running quite well.
