- Halloween Edition! Watch Close! HAHA. 40 mph Roll Racing my Stock 707 hp 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs a Heavily Modded 1976 AMC Gremlin at i29 Dragway/Raceway Park of the Midlands in Pacific Junction, IA on Oct 4, 2020. The surface we are Roll Racing on is equivalent to street racing. This is some great Roll Racing Footage between my Stock 707 hp 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs a Heavily Modded 1976 AMC GREMLIN.

When I grew up in the 70's we had a 304 Gremlin. later on in life I met a guy who has one with a 401.
I'm putting a 401 in my 72
Brothers girlfriend had a 77 Hornet AMX, a 343 from a 1969 Javelin SST trans plant. 71 AMC type 2 cam called the 401 White Stripe cam. Edelbrock R4B intake, Cyclone headers, 3.73 rear gears, built BorgWarner model 12 auto. Never expected that much horsepower from such an underrated engine, even beat a 1970 AMX 390 4-speed.

WOW....that was just fun to watch. Though nothing like it was back in the days when Gremlins were still actively roaming the streets, I vividly remember V8 3-Speed Gremlins waffle stomping the dog poop out of cars I considered to be fast at the time. Thumbs up on this video!

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't expecting that. I've seen some extremely fast Gremlins before. The ones that came with a V8 and manual transmission were some of the fastest production cars of the gas crisis era. A tiny car like that with a V8 is already a beast and it sounds like this one definitely had a turbo too. I hope this one is truly AMC powered and not a brand swap. The Gremlin sounded like a turbo ls engine with a decent cam. It probably makes close to the same power as the hellcat and a lot less weight. I bet that Gremlin is a blast to drive.

There is a crazy yank that made a carbon fibre honda civic with honda power but love to see a CF Gremlin with Alloy v8 and tilt front or steel body with CF panels and tilt front. AMC Gremlin is the US Muscle version of the Honda Civic. Wheelbase for the AMC at 96 inches is 7 inches longer than AC Cobra's 89.
LOL...Well, at least you did not get it wet. I had 2 of them when I lived in SC. Had a 572 crate engine I was going to drop in and make a drag car out of it. Lived about 15 minutes form an 1/8th mile strip

74 gremlin was my first car....goofy looking as they are, they grip the road with the right tires , and cut through the wind admirably.

i love gremlins . that gremlin weighs less than half the hellcat weighs. he probably has a 360 or 401 in the gremlin . i had a 304 in mine. and a 258 inline 6 in another
