We have already been hit today. I'm looking forward to nature's light show tonight. This won't be over till Tuesday. This only is concerning and no we are not scared. The wife is unplugging everything. We see it as a dry run to see if we are good in our preppering. Things like this is a natural thing. She can't wait for the aurora to be seen. This is so exciting and the 2 of us are in our 70's and her in a wheelchair. She's amazing and full of energy. Well just wanted to say hi and stay safe and well.

Look, I'm a storm spotter for NOAA. If you go on their website, they will tell you this happened back in 2005. And we still talk about the Northern Light show we had that night. It was absolutely one of the coolest shows ever. I'd recommend going outside tonight and watching the event. The best times are approximately 11pm-2am PST. But, if it is as strong as they are saying, you may be able to see stuff as soon as the sun sets. Get your phones and cameras ready, because if it is clear where you are and the Northern Lights are visible, you'll wish you got a shot of them.
I'm alot more concerned about this event happening from the sun than watching the northern lights.

Here in New Zealand the national electricity grid operator has just shut down one major transmission line as a precaution, no outages expected. Not sure what the logic of this action is exactly, I am guessing to protect large transformers that could take literally years to replace in a major world event. Clearly someone smarter than me thinks there is "some" risk. I know national grid operators around the world have been told to largely shutdown "completely" if there is a major risk, so far that's not a thing.
It is happening in North Alabama. The skies are changing colors. Beautiful pictures circulating. It is real!
