Exactly! People only use logic to justify their wrong opinions.
    Not me though...

I think part of the problem is that we still tend to separate the observation from the observer and the logic from the one constructing the argument. The psychological state, emotions, perceptions, etc influences the outcome. An analogy from physics would be relativism. Space and time that seem fundamental are in fact dependent on the location and velocity of the observer relative to the observation.
From biology we can see we evolved to survive and reproduce. Does it matter in terms of evolution that humans are accurate in their assessments of reality? Only as much as humans or their ideas can survive and reproduce. Does me believing the earth is flat have any bearing on my day to day life? Not really. But in the long run it can on our species. But hey I’ll be dead by then so who cares. I did my bit.
There’s also the illusion of being a god, that we perceive all and are in control. It’s a defense mechanism to protect the fragile ego and body.

I don’t think Flat Earthers start out by looking for truth, they just want to join a community. Communities are far stronger than data.

I quote at the end of the video (Approx between 6:30 and 7:00) :
"I can find some iota, somewhere, that proves I'm right. There's a matter of 90% of the data says I'm wrong. And we see it every day in politics, we see it every day in religion, we see it every day in climate activism."
Climate """"activism"""" isn't a "thing". These, are FACTS. FACTS that are proven by 100% of the scientists out there. Maybe 99% of scientist, because there will always be that 1% outlier that refuses reality.
This sentence is killing your argument. :) How can I believe anything from this video, with this sentence being out here, not contradicted ? You have thousands, if not DOZENS of thousands of articles that can talk about that, in DETAILS. Scientific details which depicts the equations upon which our world works.

@@Insert1999 hey there, i rewatched the clip at the time stamps you provided. Holly was making fun of flat earthers there, pointing out how people seek the 1% of false info that “proves” them right.

Um that is not true, i am a scientist but even before becoming one I NEVER thought this way. People who think the way ur describing are narcissists but to say this is the way the majority of people think this way is not true. Economists aren't held responsible like other sciences, that is why they are always wrong.
