I love how you use mixed media to make CAS cards! I was always afraid to use mixed media (even though I loved the process as my preferred cards are always the clean and simple ones,) you have showed me that I can get the best of both worlds! Thanks Natalie! As ever, TFS and have a great day!
Love this idea. I have a lot of patterned paper scraps. I can flip them over, tape them together, create a new design on the back, and use that side to make cards. Gets rid of patterned paper that I don't want to work with anymore.
I'm not a card maker anymore . I Make Junk journals now. What a great idea to use up all that white paper. I probably won't use the same colors but the idea is so helpful thank you so much
Natalie, you could call this technique 'The Cinderella Story' technique. You tossed bits and pieces and colors and techniques together, and the end result is truly Cinderella! Thank you for more inspiration. Now, back to the craft room; I think my cobbled together sheet is dry enough for the PVA and gold embossing powder step.... 😃
Still binge watching your videos Natalie! Your voice is lovely, soft & soothing, very easy on the eards. Thanks for sharing all your lovely cards, plus all the tips & tricks!
Wow, I recently discovered your channel and live all of your ideas ! This one especially because for the first step when you taped them together with washi tape, it certainly made it easier to work on one piece to make it quicker and you had a theme. Next the fact that you use mixed media techniques to bring it all together was great. I love the colours that you used and the cards all turned out beautifully ! Thanks so much for the ideas. 😊
How nice! Wow! I’m jealous of your “scrap” stash. 😮 You should see how tiny most of the scraps are that I’ve kept…. What I generally do with my white scraps is die cut additional copies so I can stack them for dimension and, as you mention here, stamp sentiments on them then die cut them.
More great ideas. I usually save mine to use for sentiments, or for die cutting. Will be looking at them differently now. Look forward to seeing your other ideas xx
Gorgeous cards and I simply adore the last one with the single present with the large bow. I use my white scraps for die cutting and sentiments mostly so some more good ideas are most welcome, thank you. xxx💖💖💖
You have a beautiful eye for color combos, and your signature is white space and gold accents! I am always inspired by your ideas! My white scraps are overflowing, but most of mine are very small odd shapes. I can’t stand to throw anything out that I may be able to use at some point. It feels so good to pull out a tiny scrap and use it for something small like a sentiment or die cut leaf! But I am thinking instead of washi tape I could take those odd shapes and put them close together on a tacky mat before I do my ink blending, stamping, and splattering. Die cut leaves and flowers from that could be quite pretty!
I use scraps up for letters and sentiments as I often layer these numerous times, so they’re handy for the layers as it’s irrelevant what colour they are ;)
Enjoyed this idea! I did want to see the scraps of your squares leftover after you finished designing your cards - a before and after of your scraps … They are all lovely in that color combination. TFS.
Great ideas! I'm especially fond of the "grungy, splotchy" stamp from the "grungy, splotchy" stamp set! It's perfect for your mixed media style background!
Love your ethos about using scraps. I have so many and sometimes, I sit and look at the white mess in my box. I will at some point attempt to colour and stamp them. Your ideas are brilliant. I so love the last two cards, just perfect. Thanks again, Natalie x
Natalie, this was so very helpful!! I did not know what to do with my scraps!! I could listen to you all day!! I am from the US and have always love to hear your accent!! Looking forward to your next video!!
I have two very abstract dies that I've been baffled as to how to use them. Today's background would work perfectly. AND... diluting glue to use with embossing powder is a fantastic idea. Thanks so much, Natalie.
Once again, you amaze me! I am still trying to wrap my brain around lots of white space. Just absolutely beautiful cards!! I'll keep watching, and hopefully become bold enough to give it a try. Thanks for sharing all of the thought processes of why you choose particular colors and mediums, stencils etc. You have a very good way of explaining things. Great instructions.❤
What a great idea to attach all of the paper with washi and work with it as a single sheet. Definitely adding that technique to my arsenal. Your cards turned out beautiful. Off to use some white scraps.
Your clean and simple cards are so beautiful! I love how you utilized the white scraps, I have never seen anyone do this kind of technique and it is quite intriguing! You have a great sense of design and it shows!
This is the second video I've watched and again am blown away by the simplicity of your work. Must admit the lots of white space scares me but will try it slowly and see how I go. Thanks again for a great demonstration. Once more, back to rummage in my stash......you could become addictive 😮 😅
Great ideas, thank you! I especially love the presents. Someone may have already said, but if you do ever want your golds to match, you could just heat emboss the die cut with the same gold splatter powder 😊
I loved the glue/ embossing powder idea and went to try it. I made my glue too thick but had an amazing result. It looked like drops of solder on the card….
Thank you, thank you! I'm trying to get better at mixed media cards. I'm not a great colorer but I think I'm getting better with ink pads.........thanks to you. Just received my first order of Distress Ink pads and I can't wait to play.
Natalie, I love the way your brain works! Amazing idea to tape the scraps together and use up the Washi tape. Another great tutorial. Lovely cards! And those numbers keep going up! Well done!!

You are so welcome! Thanks, Hazel! x
You had me when you adhered the washi tape on the back to join all the white scraps. Then it just got better and better
Thank you so much! :)
yeah, me too😂
Thanks! x

Yep - it's a great way to use bits you wouldn't otherwise use. x
Very clever idea making lovely cards. 👏😊💕
Thanks so much! x
Wow, that's amazing about the glue splatters and heat embossing! Also, a great idea to use washi to hold down the smaller items.
Thanks so much! 😊
I really really like your little squares! I have not visited before but I learnt a lot from this first trip! Thank you.
Glad you like them!

Glad it was helpful! x
@@nbcascards I really appreciated that tip too. Do mind sharing how much water to PVA glue should be used? Thanking you in advance. 🧡💚🤎

Personally I could see silver rather than gold but with a more open stamp design😊
You will probably enjoy tomorrow's video then.
