Loved it "I splattered this darker gold onto the background, along with everything else in my room" - true. For this reason, I use a moving box that I turned into a 'spatter box'. I've had that box for 20 years. It is big and very pretty from all the sprays, splatters, and DIY experiments I've done over the years. I might want that box sides/bottom put into resin and set on my tombstone... Thanks for sharing how to turn ugly tape/paper into usable mystery sheets.
Oh ‘jan’, I L O V E the idea of incorporating your splatter box into your monument!! None of our efforts may ever hang in the Louvre, but that’s not to say all of our efforts need to molder in the landfill!! And, even though so many choose cremation these days, there are still those who choose a grassy slope. And, I for one, enjoy occasionally checking out the older sites where we have the opportunity to get some insight into a past age. (It’s really astounding to know that each generation is SOOO uninformed of what’s gone before!)
This is why i love your channel because you think outside of the box. My favourite is the Vase card. Thank you for inspiring me once again. Off to look 😳at my stash off washy tape. x
Those cards are absolutely lovely! Fresh, clean & simple with an interesting blend of colours & patterns. I’ve looked at my washi tape hoard a few times & wondered what to do with them & had difficulty finding ones to go together. But as you’ve shown, you can mix up all kinds of colours & patterns & get some fantastic combos! Thank you for the inspiration 😃
This was amazing to see you transform that set of washi tape into beauty. You have certainly disproved the maxim “you can’t make a silk purse from a sow´s ear”. I really love the cards with the vases and flowers.
These cards turned out gorgeous! I’m truly enthralled at your talent, artistry, technique, and imagination. I’m so happy to watch your videos. Thank you for sharing with us all. 😊
WOW, you put so much thought into your you tube presentations. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to inspire all your followers. I get quite excited when my you tube chime rings on my phone. Yippee another video from Natalie. Marie Louise 🎉🎉
I really wasn't sure where you were going with this, but I was pleasantly surprised at the end results. They were all cards to be proud of. It just goes to show how, when you have the skills, an 'ugly' can turn into a swan.
Wow!!! I can't believe how beautiful you made all those ugly washi tapes. And to then create those gorgeous cards with them. You truly are a crafting genius, Natalie 🦋
Love them all! I agree that adding the gold embossing powder. It really added something extra. Adding a bit of white wash added another texture, too. These are things I would not have thought of. Love, how your brain works! 😂
12:34 -- "I'm really pleased with all of these." -- You should be! The composition turned out so beautifully. I would have never thought to paint over washi tape, but the result is just too amazing to avoid. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with all of us. ✨🤩💗
These cards turned out beautiful. Very creative way of using up those washing tapes. Instead of being unattractive designs, by adding the paint, stencil, and gold embossing powder, and then using your different dies, they just turned out beautiful. Will definitely try this in the future. Thank you.
I was about commenting that too. The vases turned out so unique and artistic! Who would have thought those "ugly" washis would make this kind of result. Just gorgeous!
So I sat down with my umpteen rolls of washi tape and after ten minutes, no ugly washi tape. I love it all! Thanks for the tips and tricks for the treatment of a washi tape background!
Your creativity seems endless! Each card shows how far you can go! I too love the vases, but the heart flowers are so adorable, I want to see that garden.😊 Thanks for sharing!
My goodness Natalie. What a fab idea to make a background sheet out of old unwanted washi tape. It just proves that we can make a go out of so many of our unused items. You have inspired me to give this a try. Thanks so much. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
I am more of a painting artist with little to no experience in the crafty side of art. I had no idea there were shape cutting devices like these. And i ADORE what you made with these washi tapes. And the cards turned out so amazing, oh glob. One day I will try this out, it seems so much fun! thank you so much for sharing your process!
@artblob, if you get a chance, check out Stacey Park (owner of a crafting store in California), esp. on Saturday morning 8am Pacific time. She has a 2.5 - 3 hour You Tube video every Saturday Morning where she teaches techniques using various craft products that she then has on sale for the next week. She's a lovely person. She has a huge warehouse sale a few times a year where many products are 50% - 90% off the retail price! She just started her current one this past Monday. The prices are so low due to her wanting to keep crafting affordable for everyone! She just became a licensed designer for 3 companies, in addition to owning/running her own local store! Blessings! :)
The butterfly die cuts came out beautifully, and all the cards are great, but the flower vase cards took my breath away! Stunning! I also appreciate how you are teaching principles for layout and design. I need help with that-very helpful!
The washi tape sitting in your container looked very sad! You gave them a whole new life. Your master board looked terrific and the end result is impressive. Once again thank you, Natalie, for all your inspiration.
What a masterclass in how to create beautiful cards from so called “ugly” washi tape. Such fun to watch and inspiring too. I smiled to myself as I recognised 4 of them that I have in my rather large collection of washi tape! Have saved this to watch again. Tfs. Best Wishes, Rebecca in Australia 🇦🇺
I really enjoyed watching this transformation of unloved washi tapes with added texture and embossing powder bling creation, I was still unsure at this point where this was going but....Wow! Die cutting this into so many little shapes to create so many beautiful cards is very inspiring 😍 I absolutely love the finished results. I think this is a genius idea! Thank you
I would never have thought of doing this with my washi tapes, WOW! Beautiful cards and fantastic tips and techniques. Thank you for sharing your time & talent. 💌
You are absolutely amazing!! When you started putting all of those tapes on the paper I thought “well, here’s a technique I’ll never use”. At the end of the video I can’t pick a favorite card because they are all so beautiful!! I love the master board concept and would like to see as many as you’d like to make! And I laughed out loud when you said you had splatter all over everything-I do too.😊
A lot of terrific ideas. When you embossed what looked like fences that sheet looked amazing. I especially love the jug cards. They looked like they should be in a museum. And I have got to get to bed! Thanks.
These cards turned out lovely, this was a great way to use up the ugly tapes with lots of playing in making the masterboard. This was full of inspiration and I'm going to do the same today. Thank you for sharing x
The washing tape looks so feminine with the flowers but the color looks perfect for a man's card because the tapes reminded me of the print on men's ties. The types we used to give my Dad.
Those cards turned out beautiful . At first, I too wasn’t sure about the paper and die cuts but then you used your magical wand and turned them into gorgeous card. I loved all of them! Keep sharing your creativity ❤
Wow! What a difference it makes going from not so attractive washi tapes by themselves to embossing and stenciling them then cutting them with smaller dies. The die cuts are very appealing. Great, great idea, Natalie. I especially like your card with the little heart die cuts. Thank you for today’s inspiration! 😊
Wow, Natalie, they are all so lovely! I can't pick which is my favourite! The vases have an almost aged pottery look, they remind me of Greek/Roman urns. Thanks, Natalie for the inspiration, I can't keep up with you!! x
Natalie, What an awesome idea!! You are so very creative !! It always amazes me how you can have so many lovely ideas!! I so very much enjoy your videos!! I look forward to them every day!!
WOW, you made them beautiful. It's like a makeover show when it starts with a woman with messy hair, no makeup, wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants, in sneakers, and then she comes out with a beautiful haircut, make-up, and dress and everyone like Ahhhh, WOW. That's what you did here. Well done. BY THE WAY, I use a whole punch for a flower center -yellow, brown, gold paper. I even have a whole puncher that makes a small heart, I use that too, for a personal touch. 😘
You never cease to amaze me..... All those cards are absolutely gorgeous. I can't believe i wouldn't mind actually going and buying horrible washi tape 😂😂😂❤
I was dubious at the beginning but you certainly are an artist. The cards are wonderful. I will try this with designer paper I no longer like. A brilliant idea.
These are lovely, i think it's the best washi tape video I've seen. I've got loads too, and also don't use them, except for sticking down dies, but masterboard is definitely the way to go! ❤ Thank you ❤
What an inspired idea! And what beautiful cards you made! I love this idea! The cards with the additional strip of washi were particularly beautiful because it think it added color that was pulled from the embellishments. I can’t wait to make my own! Thank you again for sharing so many ideas with us! ❤
These are super cute! I love every one of them. The vases are my favourite but what a great way to use washi that you wouldn’t otherwise incorporate. Thanks!
Absolutely love these cards! The washi masterboard is such a cool idea. My absolute favourites are the heart flower card and the vase cards but every one is a winner. Thank you! xxx💖💖💖
Wow! Simply Wow! You turned some not-so-pretty washi tape into several masterpieces! I wasn't sure when you started the creative process how it was going to turn out... but, OMGosh... FANTASTIC!!!

Really enjoyed this video. You made a great master board & cut some interesting things out of it. The cards came out lovely. My faves were the ones with the vases. TFS -Sarah
