Enjoy rich tributes paid to Sir Viv Richards by many "Greats" of the game, along with a delightful array of strokes from the emperor's bat !!! Спорт
"I had confidence. I had no fear about *A* particular bowler"
-Words to live by.
and U know what Virat says : he feels armed with a weapon, when has bat in his hand ...
@@nickj2554 There is no comparison between King Richards and so called stars of this age... the kind of bowlers they faced on the kind of pitches back then ... today's batsmen will wet their pants walking out to bat without all the protective gears. And if those batsmen were to bat on these tracks facing these bowlers with such short boundaries and willows of this era... I wonder what kind of blasting it would be.
@@usmangani71 -Richards never batted against the windie's pace attack.
@@philipwilliams1754 So? What a silly statement to make :)
As if the bolwers he faced were not lethal?

He is the greatest batsman ever and I truly believe that he was ahead of his generation. We will never see a batsman like him. Unbelievable talent and most exciting batsman. We have to salute the king of cricket, Sir Viv Richards. God bless him and thanks for all the great moments.
In NZ everybody wanted to be the Master Blaster including me,the only thing I had in common with him was the colour of my skin😂.
Fully agree. There will be cricket but there will never ever be another Sir Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards

He played cricket when only like 2 teams played it. Day in day out same bowlers. He played against peasants. More like Pele the greatest of his generation without a doubt and one of the greatest ever but had no competition at all
@@alexvarghese8321 WRONG. Bradman played against England, India, South Africa and the West Indies. No one was half as good as him in his era. No one else in the history of cricket can make that claim. Clearly the GOAT. But I do love Sir Viv.

When the fields were big and the bats were small. The true talent couldn't hide.
But don't have technology of today which point out weakness of opponent
Now a days even piyush chawla hitting sixes
Absolutely man...but can't convince kids these days...
Cricket is becoming baseball infact commercial crap
Sir you are absolutely right
Prabhav Panday Viv would score 300 in ipl today
Gayle scored 175
Sir Viv was such a brave batsman , he never wore a "helmet" even facing horrible fast bowlers like Lilli , Thomson and others.
Terrifying bowlers not horrible
He played t20 in those days
𝙃𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙖 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩
remember the boundaries used to be big those days --minimum 90 yards & bats used be normal - often batsmen used run all 4 as the ball used to stop before the boundary line.
But VIV used to clear those boundaries effortlessly without stepping out to bowlers ..
what confidence - what power - what class
VIV is the greatest batsman of modern era
Sir Viv Richards is greatest batsman of all the time due to his fantastic stroke play all round the wicket. In his time bowling was far more superior compared to present batsman.
Imagine he is more than 6 feet
Without Helmet hitting best bowlers all over the world. He is a really match winner can win any situation. Great by any standard
I used to watch cricket in the 1970s, but only watch it occasionally now on RUclips. I had noticed the roped off shorter boundaries but I did not know about the wider bats. Why were these changes made?

Undoubtedly the king of cricket. What swag!. No cricket, till date has this kind of swag. Master blaster in real sense.
Love the sound when he hit the ball,so sweet, dont hear that no more.
In T 20 you have to be lucky than talented
Sir Viv the magnificent... supreme stroke player who took on some of the greatest pace bowlers of all time a la Lillee, Thomson, Hadlee, Kapil, Imran, Botham fearlessly and thrashed them to all parts of any ground worldwide. He never condescended to ever wear a helmet even when facing the fastest bowlers in tests or ODIs but still never suffered a head or body injury because of his superb technique. He played tests and ODIs like T20 games. Probably the greatest master blaster of all time. There may never ever be another like him. Salute him.
Viv is a role model. He is the Emperor of Cricket. Sachin or Lara cannot play with that much of power like Viv. Sehwag appeared to be like Viv's follower, but now we don't have even a Sehwag.
Most talented and exiting cricketer to ever pick up a bat..
Viv is the greatest batsmen and scored a century in 56 balls at that time was almost impossible,, in today's era he would have scored a century in mere 18-20 balls considring the grounds, picthes, bats and bowlers
Viv Richards was a badass batsman saw him at Kensington oval Barbados
@Jitu Chauhan
Dude, that's 5 runs a ball!
Bro in today's grounds and pitches he can hit 16 sixes in around 20 balls, even his edges will go for six. So it's quite possible to score a 100 in 20 odd balls for a player of his class and strength and the quality of bowlers is also no way near which we had in 70's or in 80's
@@gymergamer7088 there's no disputing his greatness but you're basically stating it as undeniable fact that it wouldve happened if he was playing today. The fastest odi century is 31 balls by ABD, and you're saying he could've beaten that by hitting close to 16 sixes in a row? While anything is possible in this great game, no-one has ever even come close to that. You're saying that he could have done it in around 18-20 balls. If he did it in 18, he would have had to hit 17 sixes with only one dot ball in there somewhere. While anything is possible, doesn't mean it would happen. Kim Hughes had more talent in his left pinkie finger than most players have today, but woulda, shoulda, coulda doesn't mean anything apart what has been. Hughes could have hit the ball out of pretty much any ground with today's bats but it doesn't matter one bit if it didn't actually happen.
@@waynemitchell1076 boundaries 45 mtrs, one nouncer below waist, two bowling power play and 3rd batting power play after 40 overs, flat batting wickets, two white balls in one inning from both sides, bowlers are not of the quality of 70s, 80s clearly and certainly suggest that it was difficult for the bowler to stop Viv Richards from scoring sixers on each ball. Do y agree for his century in 20 balls? My reply is yes.
The greatest spectacle on the cricket field is when this great man is batting .Arguably the best batsman the game has seen across generations

I was 13yrs old and sitting by the gate to the dressing room and got a high 5 from Viv Richards, Desmond Haynes and Malcolm Marshall in 85' at the Gabba... Malcolm Marshall was my idol.. RIP legend
Memories from his first series in India....
I watched on DD.
1) The run out of Parthasarthy Sharma that Viv Richards effected.
2) Actually started to walk down the wicket while Karsan Ghavri was still in run-up. Ghavri spotted his movement and intelligently dropped the ball short of length. Within seconds (or fracrtion of) Viv jumped back to be on the top of ball in good time to execute a savage cut for 4.
We all know the number of runs he scored in his career but the above memories are still in front of eyes.
I think Viv was the most powerful batsman in the forearms, I've ever seen. He was so well-muscled in his forearms, which enabled him to make last minute adjustments in his swing to hit the ball with amazing power. I have always wanted to see the stat on the test player who was most often dropped by fieldsman. I reckon it was probably Viv Richards because he hit the ball so bloody hard, you know if he hit a catch at you, it was going to hurt. Even a Richards snick into slips always went like a bullet.
The world hasn’t produced a batsman of his caliber so far… truly a legend… huge respect and love from Pakistan

Dude, lf you can't find one l'll gladly tell you about the Great Man😁🙏
He got smacked in the teeth from Hoggy at the 'G' when the ball jumped off a good length, he's two front teeth were spilt & fell on the pitch, he just bent down picked them up & l think put them in his pocket, he got a drink of water with a couple of panadol & took guard, Hoggy of course & Viv knew along with everyone at the ground was going to bounce him, Viv being Viv hooked it & we all watched the Great D.K.Lillee as it sailed 15 rows back over his head, what a player, a once in a lifetime talent, gee man l loved him so much l used a SS.JUMBO like he did, the greatest. Another thing, of all the great batsman he was the least selfish, he would give up his wicket going for quick runs, as they said once he got to a 100 if the team was around 300 he would go bang, if he didn't have those great bowlers we would of seen more 100's, 200's & a couple of 300's, but l'm really, really biased when it comes to 'Smoking Joe', another nickname of Viv's after Joe Fraser🥊 😁🙏
