Growin up together as high school sweethearts, we got married at 19 years old in August of 2016. We have always dreamed of a life of adventure! We started traveling the US any free weekend we had, finding free campgrounds wherever we could, and converting our truckbed into a home for three weeks to make the trip across the country. After 4 years of college and 2 corporate jobs, we decided this typical lifestyle is not for us. Because of RONA, our jobs let us work remotely full time and so we decided to take the leap. We started this #goingoffgridvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but hope to share helpful tips along the way! We have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to be able to jump into this lifestyle. :)

I got a older stack washer dryer combo gas bought the $15 propane conversion kit. Swapped that bad boy out to propane. The washer peaked at like 700 watts for a minute during the spin cycle. But never had a problem. And that’s most likely your best bet. For a washer and dryer. Line drying is her but also a pain after a while.

Happy to see your channel grow. You are doing a great job. Was thinking about your off grid food storage. I think you are in a great location for a root cellar. Also Get some nice big ice chests. when the temp is cold enough you can use those on your back porch in the winter months and turn off your fridge when you need to conserve energy. Did you know there are propane dryers?

Thank you so much. I am so excited to see where the channel will take us. :) I have heard of propane dryers! In the previous comments, someone mentioned a conversion kit also. I will definitely have to look into that option.

I would have forgone the tankless water heater. I would have gotten a rheem heat pump water heater. By far the most efficient out there. A 50 gallon is 1300 at menards.com There are also heat pump dryers. Keep in mind propane can get expensive. Also with a heat pump water heater it vents cool air in a living space. Check it out.
