I was taught this setting many moons ago by a massive mastering engineer, he used it on nearly every track. I wouldn’t advise that but it is a cracker especially if used as part of a few different EQ tweaks…however just occasionally used in a small amount on it’s own it will be all you need.

I appreciate the exaggerated eq cuts. Many audio engineers fail to realize that most of the stuff they're trying to showcase gets lost in translation, on RUclips.

Cool video again! One thing I noticed you do is drag the point of the EQ after finding your frequency but it's hard to stay on that frequency, so I'm using the gain knob with my mouse wheel to reduce the gain and not touch the frequency I found in solo.
depends on your q factor and how thin the range of your cut is. 210 vs 210.5 or 209 or 208 hz cut isnt gonna make a discernable difference unless you're cutting a lot like 6 db+ and with a very narrow q - I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Cheers. I find when im doing this, that instead of sweeping with a boost i sweep with a cut and decide where to cut based on the perceived clarity boost.
I do this too, easier on the ears lol

Awesome video exactly what I needed. I've been remixing one of my old mixes with all new upgrades daw and all new plugins. I'm drums were all on one track and sounded muddy since I didn't have separate tracks to work with this really cleaned them up in the mix 😎

Awesome vid as always. Would you care to geek out a bit more about the Kii’s and your trinnov? And how that setup works for you? I have a prism atlas and focal twins now but always was curios about the trinnov and how its own conversion sounds compared to the convertors were running into it.. and it seems maybe your using output of trinnov into digital conversion of the kiis? I think your current series of tips and tricks is awesome! Keep it up 👍🏼

Silly question but, instead of sweeping for the problem frequency could you not just do the opposite. Pull down a narrow band and sweep until you find the sweet spot and a "better" sound? Jus curious.

newbie here, is it not better to fix the mud on the individual tracks rather than an eq on the whole track? why or why not?
