It's amazing to watch this whole video and not hear a single difference in any of the before and afters yet still recognize I'm learning incredibly valuable information. Definitely my most trusted source for mixing tips.
Thanks for watching! Some of the before and after demos are subtle, with the exception being the chapter about exciters, but it's great to hear that you trust I'm giving you good info!
@@sageaudio What's I've discovered is that I will make minuscule changes on my own mix and hear them fine, but it's really hard to hear other people's minuscule changes because your ear isn't hyperfocused on that same, exact detail. Either way, yes, full trust in your teaching, and also your plugin recommendations. Many thanks.
@@HaharuRecords I do, but it's just hard to hear it the same way as the person mixing. Same goes for my own mixes. Most people never know what I'm talking about when I'm explaining the importance of a subtle change I made.
Thank you very much for the work that you do. I notice that I hear more differences in the demo when using headphones as opposed to earphones. The changes are still quite subtle, though. I expect that my "mixing ear" will get better over time, though. Thx again. ❤
Another awesome video, thanks. A suggestion for future videos: Maybe you can discuss more about the high pass filtering and that especially at a 12 dB slope is does not eliminate the low end, but how it reduces it? That took me too long to learn.
Thanks for sharing that thought! Good idea - it's probably helpful to show how the db/octave or slope of the cutoff affects how the lows are attenuated.
Great video. I like using SlickEQ Mastering from Tokyo Dawn Labs for attenuating resonances, although it's not dynamic. It helps with the overall mix as far as smoothing it out.
@@sageaudio Yes, I believe it's the Slick EQ Mastering. Both the Slick EQ M and the Nova Gentlemen's Edition have the Smart Ops feature. Definitely worth purchasing, especially if they are on sale.
Hi Tomair! It's great to be back in touch, and thanks for watching! Also, my apology for the delayed postings; I'm quite consumed working diligently on the upcoming mastering course, but I will begin posting more regularly again after the mastering course is finished. Thanks again!
I didnt understand the fast attack compression causing distortion, though i could sort of hear the sound. can you help me understand this. also needless to say - gratitude to you for such incredible content.
02:06 is it the same effect if you use fabfilter pro-MB for sidechaining or is there a difference? I didn't even know you could use sidechain for dynamic eq in pro q 3 😂
It's similar for sure! The Pro MB and Pro Q 3 act a little differently. MB gives you more control over the attack and release, ratio, general compression settings, etc. Whereas, Pro Q 3 gives you better control over the bandwidth of frequencies being compressed.
I really appreciate you posting such quality content for free! :))
Hi beyTu! You're welcome! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the content and I look forward to publishing more!

@@mightbefire mate, the device you use to listen matters for identifying changes

This is the best mixing and mastering channel on RUclips and whoever who thinks the opposite can tell me why they're wrong
Thank you! I appreciate that 👍

Thank you. It has come after a long wait.
Hi Thamil, Great! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I love Trackspacer for everything-unmasking (specially the M/S option. Soothe 2 is also great when using sidechains
Hi Sean! Thanks for the feedback; yeah, I like the M/S option too.

Recomendo o vídeo "eq tricks" do Dan Worrall no canal da Fab Filter. Melhor vídeo sobre equalização ever
Hi PRX! Thanks for the feedback; I'll consider this.
Thank you very much!

Hi Vanilla How! Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying them!
nice
Has anyone ever told you that you sound similar to the guy on WatchMojo? You two could be brothers😂
Thank you! They always have good narrators so I appreciate that!
all of the clips sounded exactly the same to me both "on" and "off"
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Are you using headphones or a good monitoring setup?

If you have the original daw session with all the individual tracks, why not address the issue there🤔
there is like litterally no mud nor no low mids in that goofy waiting room music ps
Thanks for watching!
