I'm going to guess that tunneling is an effective killer strategy.
Very effective and in some cases a killer has an obsession mechanic
Yeah, this reaks of "my opponent isn't playing like a buffoon, therefore he's cheating"
@@PVS3 Definitely the experience with dbd. Lots of survivors, none ever willing to play killer, all expecting basically a free win, and if you mess with that you're a bad person.
Hit or miss, but overall very effective on clueless opponents(die fast). Basically an instant win in that case. That's why the game has many mechanics to discourage it nowadays, but it's still an issue game balance wise. The game is balanced for 4v1 with respect to the later game 3v1, but sometimes it skips the middleman and sometimes the 1v1 is unwinnable leading to a 5 min wild goose chase. A byproduct of a flawed system of progress. It's objectively more efficient to have 3 hooks and a kill instead of 3 fresh hooks. Or 3 hooks for a dead on hook(dies next hook) and a fresh.
It basically means you just target the same person the entire match and wait for them to get saved just to instantly kill them.

It always shocked me how pissy people get when you PLAY THE GAME AS INTENDED. I guess they're supposed to just let everyone run free
Yeah it's only ever a problem if the killer is winning. I've had people send death threats over my hatchet plays with Huntress. Don't teabag at the exit if you don't want me to get the one axe hit on you I need to get you especially when the rest of the team already left.😂
Truth
Exactly, sure it’s fine to attack anyone, but it’s kinda the point to tunnel the person who’s the most damaged to get them out, unless they are no where to be found.
The whole point of being a killer is to tunnel, killer has 3 jobs hunt the player defend the hooked player get the weakest ones first there is the fourth that is let nobody escape but it's an obvious one when you take the first 2 option's
and then if they do the killer gets tea bagged at the gate
Survivors throw out the T word even when it's not happening, like when everyone has been hooked but they are the first to die.
When you find an easy target you shoot it. When you find a slow survivors, you chase them.
This is why dbd needs proximity voice chat
Proximity vc makes the problem worse
Only if the Killer can hear as well
It would be more harm than gg.
Reason: I don't tunnel, I find it no fun. Yet the verbal abuse I encounter far outweighs the kind words. I get called trash, among other insults, with 11 hooks or even the full 12. I don't wanna imagine what'll happen if a squeaker was allowed vc.
I can only advise one thing: go watch tournaments if you think like this group.
Its too relatable, especially the fact that its a trapper. I had the exact the same situation in a game once lol. Love the vids😃
I get it's the spirit of the game to not tunnel BUT come on, the killer is trying to KILL YOU. Why would they care how you felt? Lol
It’s also just a smart strategy. Eliminate one player and then the survivors are crippled and you have a better chance of winning.
Should blame your teammates for not taking a hit. If you two split, of course I’m gonna take the weaker guy
@@dustypaladin9216right. Press your adavatage on the weakest players. It's already 4 v 1 competition. Getting on player out quickly is th o ly way you even stand a chance at high level play.
@@bluexco true but it's real person behind the character and that's the scary part. lol
I watch my brother play this game and its funny when the gate opens to exit the area and there are the survivors at the gate taunting the killer instead of running. Then they complain they get caught when the killer strikes them down.
A hilarious testament to the fact that the devs made a game where the killer has to “play nice” or it’s over for the survivors. They should be able to play as brutal as they want (they’re a KILLER) and not have that give them a near game-breaking edge.
The game should be in the killer's favor. Otherwise, what is the point of playing a horror game as a survivor if you are in no danger?
When playing survivor you absolutely should feel like the odds are against you.
It's basically "Stop, you are trying to win the game here"
There’s a difference when you’re at 4-5 gens and a teammate gets tunneled out of the game. As an assumably killer main I imagine you truly feel like tunneling and slugging are “WaYs To PlAy ThE GaMe”. Which is a fair argument but what happens when all survivors who repeatedly get tunneled and slugged(with no unbreakable base kit) stop playing. All they gotta do is bring in a mechanic to stop tunneling and to stop slugging and we have a very fair game. Because if the killers can’t handle it then they just need to get good lmao.
@@nobletragedy1396cry more. If I get salt from survivors, I've already won killing is just a bonus
@@codyarmstrong8428 haha. So your goal is to get on and make survivors salty? Lmao. Someone didn’t get a lot of attention at home🤣. Crying? Nah I don’t do that, I physically can’t so unfortunately telling me to cry more or stop crying doesn’t apply to me. L mans
@@nobletragedy1396 sounds a lot like crying to me. Wahwah says the baby.
@@codyarmstrong8428 haha. You definitely are getting bullied by your friends consistently
I unintentionally tunnel cause this is my mind set:
"Okay there tryna unhook gotta get em... Oh shit they're at a pallet so bad idea, guess I should get the other guy back on the hook while he's preoccupied with the pallet."
You know? Unhooked guy fast vaults into the open while the other survivors judge me from behind a pallet. Like okay you keep doing that... might as well give the unhooked guy a smack at least
I love the idea of survivors in a horror movie lecturing the killer for trying to kill somebody 😂
It’s what makes sense you pick off the weakest and those recently impaled are probably significantly weaker 😂
Well no, you want to leave the weakest link so they either stop progressing to heal him or so they can bleed everywhere making them easier to find later.
The same thing as snipers shooting to injure instead of to kill. that way the rest gets burdened, have to slow down and help the injured.
I still expected trapper to attack him in the end
When they all came out I honestly thought he was gonna just kill them all at once
This is why I run an obsession-based build that constantly shifts who is my obsession. (Usually) equal tunneling for everyone.
Usually, because sometimes it makes the person I hooked who just got off hook the obsession after I hook the obsession that came after em.
I never thought in a horror game that the survivors would be the monsters.
He has a crush😂
I tunnel, Slug and facecamp when the opportunity arises
Everyday
Come on how do you have fun playing like that
Respect the rules
@@francescacastronovo647when the survivors get salty and rage message you that’s the true fun

my hero
This is something that could cannonicly happen
“yOu’Re TuNnEliNg mE!”
*laughs in not knowing what the hell that means*
It means the killer follows only u to kill u 😂
It means the survivors are toxic noobs and nothing more.
it means the killer specifically goes after ONE survivor to get them out of the game faster. basically it’s a toxic way killers play because it means 1 less survivor for less pressure
@@cc-corruptor4492 Sounds smart. What is toxic about it?
@gg829 Bit of a dick move. Like how spamming in a fighting game isn't necessarily cheating but it displays clear lack of skill and makes the game less fun for everyone
" you're tunneling me " " you bodyblock me when i choise to not tunneling you " :)
I feel bad for that trapper in that end😂
I love how they did the healing animation for a split second.
“He’s tunnelling me!”
Meanwhile the rest of the survivors: “Good”
Yeah this sums up a live action film. I’m good now 😂
The part they got wrong is when the killer feels shame. The ones that tunnel feel proud and are the obnoxious ones that say GGEZ in end game chat.
That's where you're wrong most of the time we tunnel bc we have no choice.
@kylelunarioum4197 There's always a choice. You just didn't feel like do it.
@@thiscouchpotatoI’m tunneling you because I can. Hate the game, not the player.
@@ultimatexecutioner8260 like I said. There's always a choice in how one plays. Killers who tunnel do it because they want to.
Honestly, I love doing it cause it feels amazing seeing people rage/complain.
Tunneling is a word used by people that like to use the same loop every match that let's them complain once they run out of loops
U compare looping that takes skill to Tunneling which is No skill and toxic
Gotta be on work to tunnel
Or maybe I’m just following you the most because you keep running out in the open, even after being hooked
Smells like a tunneler who just won't admit it lol
@@diablotry5154 smells like someone who’s bad at the game and gets chased a lot
@@bananatec2910 firstly I don't play and secondly getting chased a lot doesn't mean you're bad lmao. It actually usually means you're good because you're being chased without dying quickly. You're just on another level of copium to justify tunnelling. You do you though
@@diablotry5154 Nuh uh
@diablotry5154 nah. If you're good at the game then (good) killers will drop chase and go after someone else. Killers 100% chase bad players more than good players
Easiest guy to catch gets the tunnel treatment
Bro just wants his "remember me" stacks 🗿
tunneling is the best way to get someone out of the game as soon as possible
I'm confused why wouldn't the killer always go for the weakest player first?
Wouldn't that be the best thing the killer could do?
Killing the weaker players mean you have less to focus on when you go for the fill health players
It 101% is the most viable option the killer can make. Wounded survivors are still fully capable and can be healed. Plus the killer is more likely to kill a weak survivor as opposed to a healthy survivor, which tilts the odds into their favor more quickly.
@@wilcoxway So then why is it a bad thing?
@@gyroscope915it's viewed as bad sportsmanship because it ruins the experience for the player who was just unhooked. Particularly back in the day where you would just straight up insta die off hook. Nowadays they've put so many protections for people unhooked it could be argued it's better to chase the unhooker first in certain scenarios. It's robotic tier effective and robotic tier fun. Hence it's unpopularity as a strategy and why it's been being snuffed by balance designers as a strat.
@@GunmetalEar perfect explanation tbh. Nothing against it, but it's just not fun, and the aim of the game should be enjoyment before a silly rank lmao
@@Syasabra It's also really dependent on what Killer is being used. Trapper and Hag are more or less reliant on being territorial to secure kills, focusing single survivors at a time or using hooked survivors as bait.
While Sadako is commonly reliant on tunneling to achieve kills.
Other killers such as Nurse, Legion, or Spirit excel at swapping targets.
