Remember, the shit he goes through would pretty much irreparably break anyone's mind and permanently turn them crazy, but Subaru here is the bounce-back king. No matter how much bullshit he goes through, this gigachad always pulls through with that S-tier mental resilience.
He is a hero, just a really unorthodox one.

'This' just shows all the things why Natsuki Subaru is my number 1 favorite Web/Light Novel and anime protagonist.
As the author quoted back on the first volume of the LN: "He can't use swords. He can't use magic. He doesn't have the wit or physical strength to win in a fight. So this is a story about someone who, when pressed on both sides, uses only his inability to give up as a weapon. So it is a story about not giving up."

I recently finished arc 6. It’s a masterpiece, and Subaru is cemented to me as one of if not the greatest character I will ever see in my life. Started arc 7 and it’s amazing so far. Can’t wait to catch up.

@@replayamv1492Made it to Arc 8. Was slowly making my way through arc 7 while extremely busy with college. While not as amazing as the masterpiece arc 6 is, it’s still a really good arc. Favorite character introduced in arc 7 is definitely Todd. Less than 50 chapters to go before I’m caught up. Definitely going to feel weird being caught up.

I’ve been reading the web novel after season 2 part 2 ended back in March 2021. Over 350 chapters and 4 story arcs read in 3 years. Absolutely worth it. If I were to rank arcs 5 through 8, it would be 6> 8> 7> 5. One of the greatest stories I’ve ever read.
If you are on the fence on whether to read the novels after the anime, do it! It will absolutely be worth it for you. Natsuki Subaru is one of the absolute peaks for character writing. He’s among the greatest.

It's weird out if every anime character I've seen the only one I've found completely relatable was Subaru but this video encapsulates every reason why and hearing it again after going so long without watching re:zero it hits hard how it started with natuski saying about how it was easier for him to think he could do something and how all the paths he took were telling him to give up and then everyone else told him to not give up to start again and make it work to start from zero that line hit particularly different for me because of how much I related to Subaru and how well I knew how he felt though I could never truly put myself in his shoes I can get a good setup of his perspective and sometimes I can relate it to my own life.
I watched re:zero when I was at a low point in my life nothing bad had happened I had just lost most of my motivation to do anything really then I had Re:Zero recommended to me by a friend of mine and without any kind of proper info on the series I started watching it.
Seeing Subaru fail over and over again was something I related too just trying so hard only to have it all whisked away in a second but when he finally succeeded I was nice to see I was starting to think that maybe I eventually succeed but at this point it was only a thought in the back of my mind. Then came the scene where Subaru broke down in front of rem hearing Subaru talking about how every path was just leading to another dead end was kinda saddening for me because that's when I started thinking about my own life and how every path I take might just be another dead end but then Rem said her thing about starting anew from zero and that was the turning point hearing those words about starting again from the very beginning and never letting go of goals it inspired me l don't know where I'd be if I hadn't watched Re: Zero but I'm happy I did

@@end394 arc 5 is really good too! It gets overshadowed because it is in between two outstanding arcs. But it has one of my top two moments of re zero ( chapter 42) . Arc 5 stays great till the end.
