I started comics in 1970, in Brooklyn, NY. I found my first comic shop in 1977, in Syracuse, NY called Dream Days. It was a small, cramped space, but like heaven on earth. The store is long gone now, but I'll always remember it fondly.
This was interesting. I've always loved action heroes since I was a little girl. It started with Power Rangers in elementary school + Saturday morning cartoon on Kids WB (we didn't have cable). Avengers (2012) came out when I was a sophomore in high school so I became fascinated with Marvel and rented all the marvel movies (live-action and animated) at my local library. There were actually a ton to check out! However, I am a bit fatigued of Marvel lately. These days I'm interested in learning more about DC characters. I hope the new DCU reboot is good. I've mentioned lots of film and television but that's what got me into this stuff. I've read a few comics and graphic novels from my local library but would like to own more. They're so dang expensive though! I'll have to check out the comic shop in the bigger city near me to see if I can find any cheap single issues to give a shot. The stuff at Barnes and Noble are mostly expensive anthologies that I sure ain't got the money for.

I would like to know well indie comics sell at LCS and what barriers are preventing a full on widespread adoption of indie titles hitting the shelf

Those guys have no clue what they are talking about at all. Captain Marvel is the most fantastic character in the movies 😂
