  • A chess game where I caved under the pressure of a kingside attack, played the wrong idea at just the wrong time, and missed some important tactics. There are several great lessons to learn!
The opening was the Advanced Caro-Kann, and my opponent launched a very quick kingside attack. It's hard to think straight sometimes under significant pressure. I learned some great lessons around playing against the bishop pair, understanding the plans of this type of middle game in the Caro-Kann, and correctly evaluating the danger of an attack like this.

Fun game. Yes, the ability to stay calm in the face of what looks like it could be a dangerous attack (but, isn't one, yet), simply comes with experience. You'll get there, mate!

Thanks Harry! Always good to learn (and reinforce) these sorts of things! :)
