Crumbling Under the Kingside Pressure - Chess Game Analysis July 5 2024
A chess game where I caved under the pressure of a kingside attack, played the wrong idea at just the wrong time, and missed some important tactics. There are several great lessons to learn!
The opening was the Advanced Caro-Kann, and my opponent launched a very quick kingside attack. It's hard to think straight sometimes under significant pressure. I learned some great lessons around playing against the bishop pair, understanding the plans of this type of middle game in the Caro-Kann, and correctly evaluating the danger of an attack like this.

This summer we went out to Fundy National Park in New Brunswick, after the "Atlantic Bubble" was opened up. We almost didn't make it, but we had a great time checking out their "famous" Whitetail trail.

Fun game. Yes, the ability to stay calm in the face of what looks like it could be a dangerous attack (but, isn't one, yet), simply comes with experience. You'll get there, mate!
