    I'm gonna guess that the cpu is in fact upgradable based on this video

      It can be a bit tricky but essentially I would say that if for this particular laptop and it's modification you can see I am removing the CPU, that means that in this particular model/version etc you can remove cpu. There are plenty examples where manufacturers creating laptops and some models could have some differences. In some instances you would have a similar looking laptop but one will have some less powerful CPU and will not have a fan :) To avoid a mistake I would check motherboard part number (sometimes not easy to find this number and after that search on eBay for similar motherboard. Also (maybe, never had to research it) maybe within bios or via CMD you might find what exact processor was used and maybe distinguish if it is removable or not.
      Upgradable or not is not just a physical possibility to swap it, but also if heatsink and fan will support more heat (unless downgrade which is mostlikely not the case :))
