Today we're going to talk about one of the most common questions about shaving. Should you shave with the grain or against the grain? The grain of your beard just means which way the hair grows, so when we say with the grain, this means you're shaving in the direction the hair grows. And we say against the grain, it means you're shaving in the opposite direction the hair is growing. Simple enough, right?

This video is about how to shave, against the grain, with the grain, shaving tips, and Gillette.
THIS VIDEO DIDNT EVEN ANSWER ITS OWN QUESTION IM JUST AS CONFUSED
finally a video where the dude actually has facial hair
Will you charge me if I use my credit card?
Never shave against the grain with multi blade razor.
Well go against the grain or with the grain but don't leave the tap open like he did in the video. That's sheer wastage of water.
I always like to shave against the grain. I like my face to be ultimately smooth and shaving against the grain is the only way to achieve the ultimate smooth face. My adoptive brother works at an oil refinery and he has to shave against the grain. Otherwise, his oxygen breathing apparatus won't seal properly.
I can't get a clean/smooth shave shaving with the grain.
Shaving with multi- blade razor definately makes it way worst, to shave against the grain, not easier or more pleasent!
Whenever I shave, I go both ways. With and against the grain even though I don’t have a full beard yet.
I just came here to be lectured about my toxic masculinity

With a straight razor you don't have to worry about spending $20 on new razors or worrying about getting hair stuck in the blades.
Thanks for the sharing the tip about the neck side. I always had trouble at the neck side, because it's quite hard to get a complete shave there; do one mis-step and your sure to always get pimples there.
Needed this! Thank u
I shave first pass with the grain, second pass against the grain, and if need be a third clean up pass in whichever needs clean up. I use a 1968 Gillette Slim Adjustable Razor (an all brass razor. Many I know also have the pre 1961 Gillette Fat Boy Adjustable) with various of blades but Gillette has a variety of DE blades such as their "7 O' Clock" and "Silver Blue" brand of blades. I use a double edge razor (safety razor) because the truth is you only need one good blade to cut your face...not 3, 5, 7, whatever and double edge blades are only around 0.20 cents a blade that can give you two to four shaves per blade.
Nice advice, helped a lot, I use the pro glide and seems to get the job done amazingly, so thanks!
Good information. I do most of these anyhow. Its good to know that I am doing the right things when I shave though.
Hi thanks for sharing this video... I have a doubt, should I shave my leg hair..? I have much hair on Leg.
I usually go with the grain when I shave. But some guys either go with the grain or against the grain when they shave.
