On the shores of Lake Polyphytos shortly after the village of Imera are today the ruins of a settlement that was bustling with life 30 years ago. This is the workers' settlement
in the construction of the Polyphytos hydroelectric power station and then of its employees.
The settlement had about 60 houses and was built by the French company Alston to keep its staff there when the construction of the hydroelectric power plant began in the early 1970s. business had undertaken the maintenance of infrastructure.
With PPC buses, the children of the workers were transported to the school units of Imera (Primary) and Serbia (High School - Lyceum).
Over the years, the number of families living there decreased and PPC decided that the maintenance of the settlement was unprofitable and was abandoned.
The settlement was built amphitheatrically in a wonderful place with excellent views.
