Ruins of a small tower on a conical hill in the Anavyssos area. The area is known as 'Katafygi' and there was a medieval settlement there between the 11th and 14th centuries.
Apparently the place served as a shelter for the coastal population during periods of increased piracy, as the site is unseen from the sea, has a rudimentary natural fortification and there is a large cave nearby. The tower was a small watchtower that may have pre-dated the settlement.
It does not appear to be from the Frankish period or later. In the absence of other information we will describe it as "Byzantine".
