A true professional and a true gentleman, who loved us all,and must be way up in the top 10 for catch phrases, and if you agree YOU CAN KISS MY ASTRAKHAN COAT,LOL.
No, instead like the Two Ronnies used innuendos which were just as crude and crass - "Everhard", "Sterilise Stan", "trying to force his yoghurt through my letterbox" - "Peekaboo Pete" - "I am trying to raise something for the vicar". "Stage hands, their hands are everywhere". "Slack Alice". "Once a Week Nora" - all filth covered up as innuendo. Hypocrites who say his material was clean needs to have a rethink.
So many critics, who haven't got the balls to get up a try..... Comedy is the hardest of stage arts.... Yes it was innuendo; that was the whole point...... He was a gay icon, and the country's first gay variety act
@@ravenpen-orthyn9172 Comedy is not hard to do (or anything else) if you have talent. Grayson obviously had no talent; he was just as bad as that excuse for a comedian called Jimmy Tarbuck.
I think it's based on the saying "Fur Coat - No Knickers" which implied that some women who wore fur coats wore no underwear. Slack Alice obviously went out wearing a red hat, which I think implies the same thing as the fur coat - in Larry's point of view, especially with the things he says about her. There's also a clip of Julian Clary bringing up the same point in one of the documentaries about Larry Grayson. Larry said the same joke about the red hat and gave some looks off camera as if to see if he was being signalled off stage. Julian Clary thinks there was some hidden meaning about the red hat which could have got him in trouble.
He was excellent Larry Grayson, the innuendo's are all there, very funny guy. I think Julian Clary has similarly took on Larry's mantle. But let's face it, Camp humour, never ever fails to raise a good laugh does it. I wonder if there was any hanky code in the jokes. I'm sure someone better informed will know.
A brilliant comic. God bless you, Larry x
To do this type of act with such ease, clarity of storytelling and instant spontaneity takes years of hard work and dedication.
Larry at his best 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Happy 100th, Larry.
7.35 minutes of pure comedy .. the chair being dragged on the looks the little gestures the very naughty jokes.. pure genius..
Camp comedy at its best.

Larry Grayson absolutely brilliant..... no one better... xxxxx
A real gem! Never took himself seriously.
Brilliant, every line a double entendre. And his gestures and looks, he has an audience of 2000 people in the palm of his hands.
Never seen this one before, many thanks!.
His timing was spot-on. A rare comic who wasn't vulgar, never swore and could make an audience laugh just from his facial expressions.
thank you for laughs Larry god bless you i hope that you have met up with all your family and friends Love n Light to youxx
An amazing talent. His double entendres were amazing and he left us with some of the most iconic catchphrases of all time.
loved watching him and it was the dirty looks and what he said and how he said it loved and missed larry cxxx

Just like he was talking to you
Absolute genius 😅😂
I can’t imagine Larry having an intimate relationship. I think he was happy as he was.
He did have someone special but he was killed in the army in WW2
In his prime here.
Wish there was more from his 30+ years of working the clubs. Seems TV just caught him in time. Bless you Larry.
So funny…Love him ❤
Larry = Legend ❤
Loved Larry
He had the audience in fits of laughter but didn't need to rely on four letter words to get a laugh as they do today. Your much missed Larry.
@geoffharris9396.
It doesn't take much to make simple people laugh.

Lost his lover in the second world war in Italy I used to know lots of gay guys who were full od stories like Larrys God Bless you very much missed
British comedy wouldn’t work without camp 🏕
My hair needs washing.
I've never understood about Slack Alice having her red hat on" at 2:25. Can someone explain the joke to me please? Thanks in advance.
In London post WW2 prostitutes would wear a red hat.

Great comedian. He is playing with language: making quite mundane things really funny.
Kiss my anorak ..hilarious 😂

I'm sweating like a dray horse.
Look at the muck in 'ere.
used to be a saying red hat no drawers
Comic genius. What happened to the colouring on the video, makes it look like his skin has got darker?
I think it was just his stage make up - or he'd recently been on holiday?!
Modern SO CALLED Comedian's take note.
Ohh, misses. Matron take them away! You are awful, but I do like you. Shut the doors. Great catchphrases from Lenny Granson.
About as funny as haemorrhoids
Thank goodness comedy is funnier now.
Im getting the word about you user!
Do you not like it? British classic camp humour can’t beat it.
I thoroughly enjoyed that. Thanks for posting.
