Hello and Happy New Year! Are these the newer "quieter" model? if so they are still pretty loud for theatre use. if not I'd love to hear the quieter model. At under $100 its a great Hex wash fixture that should last several years, cheaper than rentals in the long run. but they need to be quieter. I have their moving heads and they were terribly loud. when you use them for theatre use, several running at the same time can ruin a quiet moment with the fan noise. I retrofitted all my moving fixtures (20+) with 2 new fans in each. Noctua and CoolerGuys. (both needed stepdown transformers to go from the stock 24v to 12v.) this light would probably need just the 92mm fan and step down, approximately $20 in parts and 1/2 hour to replace. I realize this voids any warranty, but the lights run cooler and quieter, and at their price point are expendable after a few seasons of shows. Just my 2 cents... I wish schools had the budget (or community support) to afford ETC, Martin, or Elation fixtures....SHEHDS seems to be an almost perfect fit ....CoolerGuyzCoolerGuyz
They are only shipping out the quieter ones and there is a video on this channel with the quieter ones in it
@@TheNathan343 thanks for the quick reply. I scanned your channel quickly looking for that video. any chance you have a link? I couldn't find it. Thanks!
I am trying to control these with DMX Desk software and an Enttec Open USB DMX adapter. I can control other devices with this combo but I cannot control the 18W x 18W Aluminum par or the COB 200 from Shehds. The control panel on each fixtrue says d.001 and I have tried other dmx channels as well. Any insight into this?
These may not be compatible with the way you are doing it
@@TheNathan343 Can you explain further? They are not compatible with standard DMX?
@Ken Richer I'm not sure if they are or not try using a different kind of dmx and see if they work that way what address do u have them set to
@@TheNathan343 They are just set to address 1. I tried both channel modes as well. No response. I have a physical DMX controller ordered to see if that makes any difference. The lights look nice. good output in manual modes. I just cannot control them with simple dmx software and a standard dmx dongle at this point.
Are they loud? I see there’s a 2022 ‘quiet’ version in the website
The 1st version is a little loud but when you're in a big room with a lot of music and a lot of people you're not gonna hear them especially if they're up high the other ones are a little bit quieter and again if you're in a quiet room you're not gonna hear them but it's just preference I don't think the loudness means anything if the fans loud it's just meaning that it's keeping the light cooler
@@TheNathan343 ok I came here to ask the same question because I realize can save a little money with the louder version so was wondering if it was real loud or should I buy 2 loud one a 2 silent version
@@devonmathison4507 the loud ones ain't that loud once the music is on or ppl are talking u don't hear them anyway
@@TheNathan343 thanks man
