Really respect what you are doing and showing here!!! A few months ago your video convinced me to purchase the cable, however it didn’t work at first but after some modification to it I got it flashing. Now seeing this video and it’s really tempting me to tune my own car 🙏🏽
i’m learning to tune as well, I think I blew my first engine however i’m not sure if it was already predisposed to fail. but i’m building and tuning my 04 wrx, very impressed with your journey. I know the struggle of learning tuning, it’s hard to figure out what all you need to change for different readings and what you need to log even.
what a great mod bro. I like when the thing are doing right, and you do it all by yourself! its a ``pain in the ass`` to setup and ecu on your own. Perso,i do the mecanical part, friends :) do the other part of the job(dyno, programming etc..)
hope the tuning process going great im be ordering the cable myself..... almost got all the parts for my na turbo build on my 07 forester ill be recording it all been taking alot of tips from your video good stuff man
Anyway for CL maf scaling... I would say the unwritten rule of thumb for good log is: log for segment of each mafV range at specific rpm.. 1-8-15mins at 2000rpm cruise, repeat for 2500rpm, 3000rpm, 3500rpm and if possible at 4000rpm and 45p0rpm (probably 4-8mins would be sufficient)*if your car capable to cruise off boost (and mafV stays in CL range at about 3.2-3.3v if im not mistaken the actual switch point *No boost..and no heavy throttle change like usual... **Same method to log for OL which is set delay to zero.. but this time.. put delay as much as possible to run in closed loop most of the time
I think this series isn't noticed enough. I drive a 2.5i, and I find this helpful. Now I just wanna do an STI swap as well as an automatic to manual swap.
Cool videos bro, the process with Romraider Logger it's more easy IMHO good you realize what your errors was at the beginning, MAF scaling it's something important independent if you have an oem or aftermarket intake.
Clool watching the vids, just bought a subaru forester, year 2000, want to do the same but i know the compression ratio is slightly different, im going to add decompression plates when i do my build so i can run higher boost
A bit more explanation about why you´re doing what and what is the physical impact of that on the car would have been great. But that´s only my opinion. May be all others understood everything perfectly.
hey man just watched your whole series. i also have a 07 n/a. ive seen alot of forums saying it isnt worth turbo charging, they all say you can run over 6 psi and anything over would just blow the engine. how much psi do you currently run and what did you do to keep your engine from turning into a gernade
yep, vault boy is stating facts. I am currently building my 2006 Impreza N/A to turbo it. I rebuilt the engine with forged internals, Fel pro gaskets, aftermarket head studs and a whole lot of cussing a month ago 😅. I've put 1.5k miles on it and running real smooth. Time to boost it These N/A cars make power by using high compression. That amount of boost is literally good enough to spike your horsepower up. I watch his videos 'cause he seems so humble about his series and this guy deserves a medal 🤘
You know your more likely to brick your ecu without a battery charger plug in when your doing this plug in a battery charger as if the battery level drops thats when your ecu will brick
A mass air flow ??what ?? Open loop? Whaaa? Closed loop?? Whaaaa?? You’re looking for a correct fuel curve is what you want? Your data log runs I think is a base stock reading for your setup. Then your tool reorganizes the reading to a better performance? Correct ? Because that’s what you showed. A co2 sensor would be a better read. Temperature. Too hot to lean. Bla bla bla. Id be running more pulls because what’s your doing is actually dyno runs. Keep doing it until your close to a ideal mix.
Which exact vag cable did u use? I have same looking blue cable but with ftdi chip..so no reflash ecu support...if possible share the cable seller link please
Hi my name i Blue, ive got a Cobb accesspoint that ive uninstalled at this time just to start At scratch. Ive got an 04wrx imprezza that need a stage 3 map for & cant afford anything else for it right now Please help
different pistons and compression ratios as well, I would not run so much boost on a n/a but definitely it worth to do it if you want more power and you are DIY minded, also depending where do you live you may have problems with govt inspections
Hey man, just wondering if you know where I can start, with looking into turbo'ing my 2014 Subaru Impreza 2.0i limited? Also I've heard I'd definitely have to delete my AC if I was gonna do it and it would have to be the Forester 2.5 turbo. Do you know if those are true or not? In live in AZ so losing the AC would be out of the question. Thanks for the videos I really enjoyed watching this series!! Also if you can, then thank you for the help.
you know your NA engine from factory that MAF sensor is not for boost setup , it will run bad even with tune of maf scaling, what you should do is buy wrx or sti turbo engine MAF, MAF sensor out of subaru turbo factory engine install then tune it! because Factory turbo engine MAF sensor is specialized for turbo engines your stock NA engine MAF is not for boost that’s why no matter how good you tune it , it won’t run good
Is this thing still alive? I'd love an update!
maybe not an expert but you are the one who taught me how to rebuild an engine. thank you for your uploads my dude.
Really respect what you are doing and showing here!!! A few months ago your video convinced me to purchase the cable, however it didn’t work at first but after some modification to it I got it flashing. Now seeing this video and it’s really tempting me to tune my own car 🙏🏽
Tuning is very different these days.
I love it!
Thanks so much for taking the time to demonstrate how this is done. I will have to be doing this on my ‘05 OBXT very soon to tune the ECU.
i’m learning to tune as well, I think I blew my first engine however i’m not sure if it was already predisposed to fail. but i’m building and tuning my 04 wrx, very impressed with your journey. Thanks for sharing this video. Definitely going to help me a lot. 👍
Waaaay more complicated than my old turbo diesel. Satisfying to watch the tuning process though
very happy to see all the processes you have gone through !!

I'm planning to do the same on my 07 forester
Howd it go? I just finished my 08 impreza
Awesome content!! More tuning vids
First love the videos keep up the good work and ive always wanted a subaru so that's so sick
Amazing project, great work !
Your neighbours must love you a lot

I priced out a sti swap for my 2012 2.5i hatch. 11lk on the low end
Yoo, when are we getting more updates? Im super curious!!
Cool videos bro, the process with Romraider Logger it's more easy IMHO good you realize what your errors was at the beginning, MAF scaling it's something important independent if you have an oem or aftermarket intake.
Any new updates? I have also been working on tuning my 04 wrx, I am also working on rescaling the MAF and also installed the 565cc injectors
Love the motorcycle videos any more coming up or just buy another bike mate and fix it up ha. Great vids hello from the UK , Liverpool.
Yeah man more bike videos are coming soon!
bruh you out here about to shut down tuning shops lmfaoooo
Interesting to see the tuning .
What is that thing on your steering wheel? 😬
Thanks for the info / warning. I’ve been thinking about installing a turbo to my non-WRX. it’s much safer to purchase a WRX or STi.
Have you changed the spark plugs could be helpful
Clool watching the vids, just bought a subaru forester, year 2000, want to do the same but i know the compression ratio is slightly different, im going to add decompression plates when i do my build so i can run higher boost
Very interesting project to follow! Are you gonna make more updates on this?
Yes!
A bit more explanation about why you´re doing what and what is the physical impact of that on the car would have been great. But that´s only my opinion. May be all others understood everything perfectly.
Make an update video on the subie
Dylann Ebarb Yes i agree with you 😪💔
dude, why does that bike have 4 wheels?
I really dont know anything about cars, yet enjoyed the vid!
keep them coming!

It's your car at the end of the day. If it makes you happy go for it brother. Who knows you might be happy at 6psi.
N/A cars have higher compression so 6psi is good enough.
yep, vault boy is stating facts.

Oh my gosh, all over again. Goodness
Bad ass yo. Just curious though, why not just have it tuned on a dyno?

hes recalibrating the maf to be able to comprehend the added air he's taking in. This is NA/T step 1 before attempting to tune fuel
Dude I will fly you out to Cali lets build out my N/A
Which exact vag cable did u use? I have same looking blue cable but with ftdi chip..so no reflash ecu support...if possible share the cable seller link please
I have WB 02 sensor, but it is PROSPORT ... can I use subaru sensors for all 3 logs?
what about water and oil lines?
Did you use a costume ecu ? They say that my 2.0r Hawkeyes consent alaude to remap the ecu 🙄
What tuning software did you use
Hi my name i Blue, ive got a Cobb accesspoint that ive uninstalled at this time just to start At scratch. Ive got an 04wrx imprezza that need a stage 3 map for & cant afford anything else for it right now Please help
What ecu does your car use as I can't tune mine.
Any updates:) ?
None yet, I have really been having a hard time learning how to tune but I will post an update soon!
Thanks for replying:), yeah im trying to see if i should boost my 2002 2.5rs impreza. But there is not many budget tuning options that i know of
MAN DID THIS WITHOUT A DYNO.
Hey gold guy, what cable are you using to tune?
hey, why you are using another cable. first video you said blue cable is wrong white one is best.???
I use one cable for flashing the ecu and one for reading and logging.
bruh my counsins live like next to you lol
Quick question is the N/A subi engine the same as a wrx just without the turbo or is the engine lined differently in the NA
Different internals. Case halves are different, the N/A ej253 has an open deck setup while the 255 has a semi closed deck.
@@popemobile12 what does ej204 have ?
different pistons and compression ratios as well, I would not run so much boost on a n/a but definitely it worth to do it if you want more power and you are DIY minded, also depending where do you live you may have problems with govt inspections

How did you get that vagcom to work with your car? Which drivers did you use?
I just keep unplugging it and plugging it back in until it works, it's real sketchy. I just used the drivers that were already on my computer.
@@GoldGuyRides ok thanks. mine only logs but can't read or write. I'll try again
@@victormwaba6688 you may have the incorrect cable, watch my other video to see which cable to use: ruclips.net/video/2g2w7WGfB0Q/видео.html
@@GoldGuyRides ok thanks
NA ENGINES MAF IS DIFFERENTE FROM TURBO ENGINES MAF, you need TURBO WRX OR STI ENGINES MAF
dude please give as the update if you fix it or what🥺💔
Fix what? It's running great
GoldGuy nice🥺😻iam happy ok if you never mind make a video for running with super soubi😻♥️🤍
GoldGuy and we need more videos about tuning
Bro its leaning out because you need a stronger fuel pump
