I want you to that for me! I have a lot of hair and my perms should have been piggy backed. Hard to find someone that knows how to do this.
Not many newer stylist have even heard of PBacking! Let me tell ya, that technique takes time and I charged a pretty price for it!

That was a BEAUTIFUL perm that you did! I am definitely going to need MORE perm rods n papers lol! Fingers crossed that it turns out okay?
I asked my stylist to do this roll, she refused and said it wasn’t needed for a spiral and did the rods horizontal. She also didn’t put the sticks in and I had breakage all over.. the top looked so bad like a porcupine. The first treatment she put in, I said my scalp was burning and she rinsed immediately ; went back read the box and put another treatment in… then a walk-in came in wanting what I was having done and she forgot to set the timer. She started working on the other lady hair. I’m beyond disappointed in how my hair turned out-she ruined it and tried to cover it with mass styling products. I felt ripped off and she said she was the owner and been doing it for 37 years.
She certainly has not learned customer service or how to do a perm.

Great technique old school however it would have been better had you slowed down the video to show how to wrap hair around the rod at each different stage when you changed direction... too fast for a novice in my opinion

Yes, this technique works on Afro hair, but not with the solution we mentioned. You’ll need a solution for your hair type.

That is not a spiral perm. Its frizzy. At least the whole hair shafts are equally permed. The ends will need an inch off. Spiral perms are cork screw and the tolling technique is 1st comb the section then wrap with grey rod and paper to below the end of hair shaft with the rod clasp end in downwatd position , then to roll upwards and just below mid length, 1 twist and then wrap in same direction upwards rod connection to the salp up to the scalp. I should know. Ive been doing these for years. Lots of spiral curls like locks of spiralling downwards locks of hair so they are easy to see, like. ❤
