- This BBC radio comedy show ran from 1944 to 1954, starring Richard Murdoch with Kenneth Horne and Sam Costa. Initially set in a fictional RAF station, by 1947 this had been converted to a country club. It was at the time the BBC's most popular comedy programme. Broadcast 22 May 1947 (recorded from the repeat on 25 Octoper 1964).

This is wonderful stuff ! It is mentioned in the book " Riding the Skies" written by my grandfather's brother about his time in the RAF.
The theme tune was my favourite piece of music for decades, although I never was able to listen to it again until the late 70s.
Just gives me the butterflies.
I was 7 going on 8 when I listened to this. I never missed an episode. I don't remember the men's voices being so high.
A great episode of a true legend among British radio shows.
