I had the opposite problem. My players decided to try and find the bottom of a bottomless well in the shadow fell. Or a swamp. If there's water, my players are going in it...

Though it leans more on the horror side, as opposed to a game like the Upturned, which leans more on the comedy side (though might be more balanced?). I'm saving this for when my players eventually learn of a long forgotten behemoth kraken in the plane of water who's been resurrecting dead sailors to serve him for eternity.
Friends are excited for my interpretation of the elemental planes. From small fish to giant sea monsters, and clouds of red ooze that burn to the touch, I plan to make all the planes more lively then before!
I spent ages looking for a BG for this ambience >_< I think I found it on a wallpaper website, with no indication on who made it (otherwise I add credits in the description).
I love this one. It's so beautiful and soothing. This will definitely be useful for writing! But I'll also probably just listen to this in the background.
The mermaid found a lonely, desolate place and hung her beautiful head, her shining silver tail hovering inches above the stony sea floor. As a princess from a neutral kingdom, she had been asked to come to two other merfolk kingdoms which were constantly at war and try to negotiate a lasting peace between them, but every attempt had failed. The conflict stretched so far back that few even knew what they were fighting for anymore, and the ones who did had no intentions of telling. Some within these kingdoms were interested in ending the violence - violence that went back untold centuries - but most were interested only in the other kingdom's destruction. She had tried to reason with them, but to no avail. It seemed that they would continue to color the waters of the sea with their blood until there was no one left, and this filled the mermaid's heart with sorrow, causing her to shed a salty tear that was immediately absorbed by the surrounding water. If she could only discover the cause of the conflict, she thought, she might be able to bring peace! Her thoughts were interrupted as a shadow was cast over her, and she looked up to see that a ship was passing overhead. Humans, she thought. She had only rarely seen one, and never spoken to them, and there was good reason for this. Humans and merfolk didn't have the most pleasant of histories. It hadn't always been that way, though - centuries ago, merfolk had discoursed freely with sailors and other humans living close to the shore. The mermaid chuckled quietly as she remembered hearing stories of the days when humans and merfolk would form close bonds of friendship, affection, and even love. But those days had ended long ago, because of more mischievous merfolk who had thought it amusing to lure sailing ships to sharp rocks, causing devastating wrecks and leaving the sailors on board to drown in the depths of the sea. The needless deaths had led humans to distrust ALL merfolk, and eventually some even took to killing any merman or mermaid they saw on sight. Before long, merfolk had stopped interacting with humans for their own safety, until the time came when humans saw the merfolk as nothing more than myth. The mermaid closed her eyes and filled herself with new resolve as the ship passed and the sunlight dove down into the water again. The rift between merfolk and humans had a cause, and the conflict between these merfolk kingdoms must have as well. She decided she was going to find out what it was, no matter what stood in her way, and then she would use that knowledge to bring peace. However long it took, she would see an end to this conflict.
Please create more underwater DND ambience! These are some of the most relaxing. :) If you need some ideas you might try something like the city of the sea elves, the triton kings halls, the sea nymphs grotto, the sahuagin village, or the mermaids cove.
