This guy lost his father at a young age. Never got a chance to get to know him. Then he lost his beloved mother at also a tender age. Instead of spiraling into depression. Partying away. He made himself into this bodybuilding legend that he is. He is strong in every way a man can be strong. I love the guy and respect him even more.
Everytime I watch his training videos I can see the drive in his eyes and makes me wanna hit the gym. Kevin’s the reason I got into bodybuilding

I’m 51 and began my journey with lifting when I was in high school. Did my first show at 18, placed 2nd all natty. I recently lost about 40 lbs and look as lean as when I was 18! Got off all the blood pressure meds & blood thinners! I’m at 197 lbs at 5’11”. Eating clean and doing cardio is what did it for me. Nothing processed. Drink only water and sparkling water. And of course, this video!! 😊

What makes someone want to be that huge? I mean I love going to the gym and working hard. If I don't go to the gym I feel like a failure. But I like being lean I would never want to be that big.

Something about this video so perfectly emulates why i love bodybuilding. The grainy picture, the Creed song, it's so nostalgic and it just seems a whole lifetime away, makes me aware that life goes quick, and that bodybuilding is here for the same reason that Socrates once said "No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable." We are mortals, here for a moment, how can you possibly be willing to live your whole life being a tiny little bitch, without truly knowing what it means to be a man? Exactly my thoughts. Bodybuilding is such a beautiful sport and people like Kevin, Arnold, Tom platz, etc emulate that perfectly. Until the day I die I'll be a bodybuilder, continuing to push my limits of strength and sculpting my body.

It is a tragedy this guy didn't win Olympia. Biggest shame in BBing.
Umm its not a shame. Hes got the 3rd most total professional victories in IFBB history, almost 2 dozen!!! countless pros go their whole career not even sniffing a win.... You cant even imagine how many contests in general hes made top 3 or 5 in, or even competed at all in! its prob close to the century mark!! you never see that nowadays, and they dont get as ripped as him either! Hes won multiple Arnold Classics, hes totalled millions in just prize money, enshrined as greatness for all eternity in the Hall of Fame, and the true fans of bodybuilding and Kevin Levrone will view his legacy and remember all the great things he did as long as this earth is spinning..... and you better bet they sure as hell wont constantly whine about how he didnt win the Olympia..... Dan Marino never won a superbowl too! Old news people! Dig deep and look at the big picture.... Theres so many great and amazing things Kevin has done before and after he ever stepped on the Olympia stage, many of them not even bodybuilding related..... So as Kev would say.... PEACE

Bad timing! Levrone was at a really tough time in bodybuilding, a lot of strong competitors at that time. DY and then Ronnie came along, not to mention other guys like Shawn Ray and Flex
The reason why it's hard to comprehend is because bodybuilding is not like other sports. Every person that makes it to that olympia stage has a phenomenal physique. Since there can only be one winner, the judges have to pick the winner based off of minimal differences. Yes levrone had an amazing physique, but dorian yates and ronnie coleman had just a little bit more in their package which is why kevin never won a sandow.
Dorian brought insane size and conditioning. Ronnie... well, what bad things can be said about Ronnie? Amazing size, shape and conditioning. He could be the greatest bodybuilder any of us will ever see!
noobhealz402 not so, far from it. The reason Dorian Won and kevin didn't is the personality. Thats all that matters. After all, Dorian had only 1 arm. Hello...

not taking away anything from the other legends of the sport.......but in my humble opinion Kevin's physique was timeless.... a perfect balance of mass and amazing lines and because of this he will remembered forever......no one will remember the judges
