I finally got around to working on two of these and I've probably watched or at least consulted this video countless times in the process. You provided some real insights for these. I went off the rails and made two Dreadnoks, brothers, out of them and I'll be gifting one to a very good friend of mine. Thanks again!
I use TAMIYA ACRYLIC paints. No primer as u saw in the vid! Then I use an acrylic sealer (TESTORS) there is a little paint rub in the joints unless you trim them down a little! thanks for the view and comment!!
@@woodman29 I haven't. Only items I got was a vintage Zartan with everything but his thigh armor, but just picked up repros. Can't believe ppl are asking 80 plus for those in original. And picked up Buzzer, now I just need Road Pig and I've completed the Dreadnoks.
Great job on the paint! How's the plastic on the figure? Good quality, solid, gummy, flexible... do tell. I'm interested in getting one of these Mould Colour figures myself and wanna know what I'm getting into before I paint it.
The plastic is spot on, I didn’t have any issues. I would recommend to heat up the parts with a blow dryer on low for about 30 seconds, when trying to put it all together! The price for the blank is worth it. I have purchased the other two blanks and will be painting them up as well! Good luck😁
New fan here and sub from Ayindis showcase channel :) i love your figures...so neat! I just found 2 G.i jos for my barbies ill be sharing soon :) hope we stay in touch. I love your custom superman....Geeze your talented. Would love to collaborate one day :)
I use TAMIYA ACRYLIC paints. And for the brushes they are not anything special. Just a set a purchased at my hobby shop. I have another joytoy figure video that I painted and show these items if your interested!
hello, very interesting video. Have you ever had the opportunity to repaint skin of a character ? I tried, to paint the arms of a figure but I have problems with elbows. Each time I bend those the paint on elbows rip off. Do you have any idea about how to fix it ? To help me ?
Yes this does happen a lot. You need to sand/ trim the moving joint down enough to accommodate the amount of paint you put in that area. Take ur time! Quick tip, if your ever using colors like black, blue . Etc. you can usually use a permanent marking on the joint with zero paint rub! Hope this helps👊😁
@@woodman29 I have. I converted a boba Fett into the new mandalorian boba Fett. I used RIT synthetic black dye. It was really easy. I just removed a few parts and dyed the whole body black and then I just had to paint a few parts from there. I'm not very good at painting so it eliminated a lot of work for me.
@@woodman29 you just have to put some dye in a pot with a little bit of water and boil the parts you want for an hour or so. You're good at painting and you don't need to do this but it would just probably save you some time
Hi Carlos I use a product called Vallejo paint wash. I put it on lightly then wipe it off. Let it dry I continue to do this-until I get the results I like! I may be putting up a video on this if your interested?! Thanks for the view and comment!
@@woodman29 thank you, sir. I was thinking of perhaps getting one of these, but my painting skills leave much to be desired and my sense of colors are worst than a 7 year old.

Thanks skabcat! I’m happy I inspired you! 😁😁
Well done! Really like the look of these.

Yes sir!
Have you thought about dying figure parts?

@@woodman29 so the acrylic paint on first, then the sealer. How long did you have to wait for the paint to dry before you put on the sealer?
@@Fernandez0007able correct. Paint first... then I waited about 4 hours before I sealed it to make sure the paint was completely dry!

Do you do tutorials?
I don’t at the moment, but if there’s an interest I’d be happy to!
