I'm old enough to collect my pension, and I'm nowhere near ending my riding career. I'm thinking about next bikes and planning trips. I look at it as the reward for surviving some pretty dark periods in my life. I love how you skillfully blend voiceover and embedded audio.

You are an inspiration. Thanks. Just navigating through a hiccup in my life now, and the bikes keep me sane. Cheers.

Love it. A man after my own heart. Love my Z900RS. Do you get out on the trails with the KLX, or use it as a winter commuter?

@@BlueMarbleRider Off road as much as I can. And to run errands so I don't run the miles up on the Z.

Hi from south africa, i guess i also fallin that category but who cares, been on dirt bikes since 5 yrs old,had a hiatus of about 13 yrs and then started again😂. I just love riding my bike even if its not competitively anymore, enjoying nature and having me time, have been labeled as crazy, going through mid life crises etc etc, who cares? Enjoy the ride and stay young at heart

Yes I am older than you BMR; I was riding my first bike about the time I think you were born! And although when I look in the mirror I see an old man, when I am on the bike I feel like a teenager again. Life is a sweet journey and as long as we keep moving, especially on 2 wheels, we are alive. Of course though, one must take time to admire the roses, or as in your case, the dogwood. Stay philosophical my friend.

Keep moving - wise words indeed. I guess we reach benchmarks and reflect, but, like you, I see an older guy looking at me who I don't recognize - my heart is young. So...onwards looking at life from behind a tach :-)

Age is just a number. If you are physically able to do it, don't let a number or a bunch of stupid naysayers stop you.

We know them as tree poppies, I grow them in my garden in Scotland.
You are never too old, never give up, just be smart, use your age as both a tool in your favour and sometimes show the younger gen how to ride ✌.

Thannks, digger. Having lots of riding experience is like having a sixth sense - it's kept me sane for years. Tree Poppies - amazing. I never saw them in England growing up...or maybe I never noticed. Cheers.

At the age of 61 and sitting here with 5 fractured ribs and a fractured collarbone after coming off my KTM690, and everyone telling me it might be time to give it up, stuff that I can’t wait to get back on the bike

Just went thought the same thing (at nearly the same age). I did physio/exercises every day for 3 months to get back aboard. Glad to say it was worth it. Hope you recover soon. You'll be out there before you know it. Cheers.

Beautiful story!!! It sounds like you were very old, which I don't believe.
I also have my own story. I Dreamt for more than 30 years about getting a driving license for a motorcycle, because I used to drive a small 50cc thing with 17. Finally, my wife agreed, I made the license last year (Germany, quite expensive), bought a Kawasaki Z900RS SE 5 days later, and today at the age of 50 reaching my first 10k kilometers.
What a pleasure to drive this thing and feel/sense every time better and better, what happens between the tire and the road!!!! More, and more relaxed with every km driven.
Btw I changed the muffler (to better hear the character of the bike), ordered a DNA-air filter, and did quite some more things over the last year.
Most of all, I was tuning my driving technique every time again, and again.
There are not many people, who experience what I do. Is this a midlife crisis? 🤔 Then I have had it for the last 50 years...
Please go on with your channel and don't you dare to grow up 😑(I mean the classic definition: going back to the embryo position and waiting for the end....)
